  1. Thanks! Looks like the 3060ti is the definitive suggestion so far, hopefully I can find one; removing the cpu cooler will knock a bit off the price if I can get away with it, nice call.
  2. Thanks for the input. Any ideas on the wait time for it? I have no clue on gpu availability anymore. Haha. airflow is definitely something to keep in mind; I’ll take a look at the case.
  3. Im looking to build a mid-range gaming machine. I e been running a budget machine I built back in 2014, so it is extremely dated. I haven’t kept up too much on parts lists since then... but, I put together this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NBQkbh Is this a decent build? Does it all look compatible? Are there any changes you would suggest? $1250 is probably my absolute limit, but I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit cheaper. I’m looking to game on it, Jedi Fallen Order, ESO, and that sort of stuff, while keeping the door open for more intensive games if I get the desire to play them. Thanks, —Krov
  4. I disagree. If you put it on your own page without tagging or directly sharing it, it shouldn’t spam what friends you chose to have see it with notifications if it - unless it is directly shared with them, which it wasn’t in this case.
  5. Thank you for the response. That is annoying that it considers it as sharing it when putting it in your own profile and not blatantly sharing it. It looks like I will have to create specific lists so I can go through and adjust privacy as desired instead of selecting them individually as before.
  6. I have a question on Facebook post/timeline privacy and none of their help topics (or Google) have shown me quite what I am looking to answer. I change my post privacy as custom when posting things to my timeline. Yesterday, I put a post on my own timeline with an individual or two set as the only ones who could see the post. I did not share the post with the individuals, tag them in the post, or post to their timelines— I posted only to my timeline with the special custom privacy. However, said individuals received a direct notification saying that I shared something with them, when I hadn’t. Is this a feature of Facebook or a bug? It doesn’t seem quite right to send notices of sharing with people when that hasn’t been done, when a post was simply made on your own profile with specific privacy settings so that only a select few would be able to see it when/if they look at your profile. Any help on answering this would be nice, since Facebook help section, Google, and contacting Facebook directly have all cane up empty for me so far. Thanks.
  7. So, I reinstalled synapse and I didn't get the issue letting it set this time. However, the previous few times, I have been logged in to multiple accounts on my computer at once... I have a gaming/personal account and a work account. This time I was just on a single account and it didn't happen. Gonna let it set again and see what happens.
  8. Sorry, I have a mousepad - just not a razer one. I should have clarified.
  9. I have waited at least a minute before and it still doesn't give results. I don't have a mousepad though? Will that only fix my mouse, or keyboard too?
  10. So, I waited about 15 minutes and then my mouse had a wheel next to it on screen and then it all stopped working. I unplugged and plugged it back in as suggested and not only did it not work, but it didn't light up. On a restart, only the mouse would light up. So, I moved the connection to a different USB (from a USB 3 to a USB 2) and then I could at least type... then, once it fully restarted and profiles loaded, my backlighting was back.
  11. I haven't tried that as I'd have to move my computer around to get to the back of it and try it... next time I let it idle like this I will try that though. I shouldn't have to unplug and plug it back in each time though. Sorry, I just copy and pasted it in... so, it must have auto'd to black. I will try to fix it. One second.
  12. I just bought a Razer Chroma Blackwidow keyboard and a naga mouse. I have all of the cords for the keyboard plugged into the back of my computer and the mouse plugged into the keyboard. After around 10 minutes of inactivity, if I try to use either the keyboard or mouse, they will not work. My computer isn't going into sleep mode or anything, as I have that disabled. The lighting still works on my keyboard and mouse. I just can't get it to work at all without a hard reset. Any ideas on what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.
  13. Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I was thinking that was probably the issue, and then researching ti when typing this up I seen stuff mentioning that; but still wanted to be sure. I appreciate the help!
  14. I just build a new computer for a friend and I cannot get it to boot up properly. It is an Asus Z97-A mobo and an Intel Xeon E3 processor. PC Part Picker build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mrodg1/saved/#view=Z2sRsY We are using the on-board graphics and an old (10-year old) monitor. Tried both the VGA and DVI ports and nothing. You can hear it reading from the linux install CD and trying to do stuff from it; but literally nothing shows up on the screen. No BIOS, no install screens, nothing. I tried booting it with only one stick of ram in the proper slot and it wouldn't boot. Unwired it and rewired it and nothing. Took the heat sink off and re-seated the CPU and reattached everything and nothing. We get a red light at the GPU / PCI port, I think saying something is wrong there; but, we aren't using the port. Additionally, on first boot up, a red light for the boot disk came on and stayed on, but on reset turned off and is when it sounded as if it was trying to boot from CD / install Linux from the CD. Looking online it sounds like it may just be an issue with the mobo or CPU; but I wanted to check here first for any input. Would a graphics card make a difference instead of the onboard graphics? As I am reading this, I am seeing that the mobo runs onboard graphics, depending on the CPU - but, the CPU does not have integrated graphics... so, I am assuming my issue is simply that I need a graphics card. Would anyone be so kind as to verify that for me?
  15. Yeah; they are in different departments and are using it for different things though; but, it should work.
