  1. So I am building a new PC from some random parts I was able to get on bargain deals. And I can't access the BIOS. No windows installed but I do get a post with the ASUS splash screen and then the Ami screen showing my drives and the USB boot drive. I've tried spamming the delete and F2 keys. Switching between 3 wired keyboards and I know for certain they all work. Tried removing CMOS battery for 5 minutes. 2. Hi! im trying to find a new video card for 1440p ultrawide gaming. Unfortunately I love demanding games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Witcher 3, Monster Hunter World, Final Fantasy, and definitely Cyberpunk when it comes out hopefully this year if its not delayed again. I currently have a GTX 1070, and to be honest never really considered upgrading until Red Dead came out and i was at an ABYSMAL 25-30 FPS! (Almost threw up) and after a couple of textures dropped I came at a 45-50 fps which is better but not good enough. I also have a Predator X34 if that changes anything and was definitely wanting a 3080 tbh so i wouldn't have to think about upgrading for a while, however the 10gb of vram is a concern, and kinda was thinking of going for the 6800 xt. I'm definetly patient enough to wait until summer of next year hopefully stock will be better by then, but just wondering if i should skip out on the gsync compatibility of my monitor for more vram. Just wanna get some second opinions on the matter here. Thanks!
  3. Alright, so I found a cheap XPS 13 9343 that i bought recently, it took a bit of work but I fixed it up a little bit but in my search for parts to fix the defective stuff on this laptop i noticed the XPS 13 9343, 9550, and 9560 all shared extremely similar chasis (the palm rest changes in terms of having a type C port between the 9343 to the 9550), and even their motherboards look very similar. Since my own is only 8gb of RAM and no type C port, would it be as simple as swapping out a new motherboard, and palm rest for the ports to upgrade my CPU and RAM?! Would it work? Does anyone know?
  4. UPDATE: Bandsaw wasn't a good idea so i made a hole and filed away the icon, its not as clean as i would've liked but either way the project was a success. I had to drill a wide hole in 3 layers of the aluminium because of uneven lighting so adding a circle shape of leds helped.
  5. So im getting impatient and don't feel like waiting for the upcoming Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi, plus i do like the Cr logo alot better. The plan is to cut out the logo and on the underside put acrylic with RGB LED's and run it in between the heatsink, my only problem is I've never modded anything before. 1) Any clue how to take off the top black part off the Heatsink? 2) What is the best way to cut off the logo? I am planning getting a small drill and use a bandsaw to remove the rest Thank you very much for helping a noob like me with this
  6. Im also one of the frustrated ones that wants this case to come out already. My pc parts scream for a home
  7. So uuuh it's October and still no Corsair Crystal 460x? Anyone know when it'll release?
  8. Hey Guys, I've been thinking of building my own computer for a while and I decided to dive in and go for it. I have done alot of research but I am the type of guy that can get won over by aesthetics pretty easily, and I would like your opinions on my PC build "Fallen Angel" and graciously accept tips, tricks, criticisms, and even insults if my pc build is that bad lol. Thanks guys heres the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/XNvw6X
  9. If i can get 1080 that would be preferred, but if i cant hit it then ill be fine with a build that can last me for a decent amount of time, since chances are i wont want to part with my first ever build. My future baby has to stick with me for as long as she can lol
  10. Yep, i'll look into overclocking one day and hopefully ill get into it and learn, and I assumed 8 gb RAM would be sufficient since my currently laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 2 and since it runs my CAD, and Sketchup perfectly, i assumed it would be enough for my personal build.
  11. Sorry I did but i wanted to have a physical copy with space and add notes but here is the link for PC partpicker. The graphics card i added is not the one i intend. I plan on waiting for the AMD RX 480 http://pcpartpicker.com/list/zpnD3F

  13. I was browsing youtubes one day and discovered Linus and found the world of computer building very astounding. I loved his tutorials and the amount of knowledge of pc building you can find and due to the amount of content, and the sheer joy of DIY PC's I was inspired to create my own computer. Since my knowledge is very limited i wanted to get opinions on my build that I have researched thoroughly and would love inputs, suggestions, and recommendations. Budget & Location I live in the US and I want to take my time and make my first PC on the side and buy the components one by one over a large period of time, but don't plan on exceeding $900. Aim I plan on playing last gen games. Along with Sim City, Civ VI, Total War, etc. I also want to be able to do architectural work and business. Overclocking looks advanced so i would like to avoid that if i could. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/zpnD3F

Monitors I plan on using my Flat Screen temporarily and want to just keep the focus on the rig. 4. Peripherals Windows 8 or 10 but heard that it can be acquired free but not sure where yet. 5. Why are you upgrading? So One day i was browsing the old Youtubes and ran into a video of Linus. I was honestly shocked out of the price differences between DIY PC's and Prebuilt and I have been inspired to dip into a something new and create my first ever PC.
