  1. Ok so I want to buy a gtx 1060 and I just would like to know if my system would bottleneck the 1060 in anyway. My specs are: i5-3550 3.3ghz quad core, DDR3 1333mhz CL9, 850w EVGA PSU, some MSI motherboard that i cant find the name but it has a x16 slot, and i have samsung 850 SSDs. My main concern is the CPU and RAM because they are old and slow. I was planning on pairing this with a 1060 and a new monitor but is it a better idea just to upgrade my whole pc? I know the 1060 is a pretty good card and i dont wanna spend $650 on a new GPU and monitor if what i really need is a new CPU.
  2. Well the bigger question here too is that what can the 1060 support for each. Like can the 1060 even do 1440p max settings 60fps or do 1080p 100fps+
  3. Ok so i know that you guys on the LTT forum are pretty smart and after around 2 hours of researching this myself I cannot find a solution for my situation. So I am going to buy a gtx 1060 gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125901&cm_re=gtx_1060_gigbyte-_-14-125-901-_-Product and I play games like fallout 4 and witcher 3 but I also play games like COD and Overwatch. I currently have a 24inch 1080p 60hz panel with a gtx 760 for a while now. I had seen a 1440p 27inch and a 1080p 27inch monitor at bestbuy and of course since they dont have games running i couldn't test which one would be better. From what I have heard is that 1080p 144hz is good for FPS shooter games. But while a game like fallout 4 would look a lot better on a 1440p 60hz panel. Normally I would just choose the 1080p 144hz panel because i know that 1080p is good enough and i could use the extra frames for the games that i play. But a 27inch monitor paired with 1080p doesnt look the best while sitting in a chair gaming, dont get me wrong it looks alright but i can sort of notice thats it not the best quality. So 1440p for good quality and 60fps is enough right? But can a gtx 1060 even do 1440p max-very high settings. Now i asked my friend about this and he said just to buy a 1070 and i thought about it. But a 1070 is around $400 which i dont want to spend on a GPU that will be obsolete in 2 years when i dont do extreme quality gaming. So i dont know. What do you guys think. Is 1080p at 144hz worth it on a 27 inch or 1440p 60hz for an all around gamer. Also factoring in the performance if a gtx 1060 can even get up to more than 60 frames at max settings in AAA titles.
  4. Ok so i am buying a new phone off craigslist and there is an s5 and an s6 around the same price point. I would like to know is giving up the removable battery and SD card slot worth it? i have read all over tech review websites and they all never answer the question. I am hope you guys on the LTT forums can help me out with this one.
  5. Hi so since i cant decide on which... i found a sapphire nitro r9 390 on craigslist for $200 but i also see AMD has released their new RX 480 for $240 and i cant decide which is better. I dont care about power consumption or anything but if i were to overclock the r9 390 would i get the same performance as the RX 480. Thank you.
  6. one last question. Should i get the R9 390 8gb or the gtx 780 ti
  7. Hi, so basically i want to buy a gtx 780 ti off craigslist for cheap because i dont do 4k gaming and i do 1080p and 1440p but i dont want to spend a whole bunch on the new 10 series when i could spend $150 for what i need. The card i am buying is a gtx 780 ti classified edition. I watched a tech quicke on bottlenecking and got worried about my pc specs bottlenecking the performance of this graphics card. My specs Are CPU: i5-3550 (3.3ghz quad core) MOBO: MSI H61M-P31/W8 RAM: 16gb g.skill 1333mhz dual channel cas 9 ram (i dont know the part number of the ram but that should be enough) PSU: EVGA 850w fully modular my game storage is stored on a samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd if that effects anything. I just want to know if my specs would bottleneck the performance of this graphics card. Thank you.
