  1. hmm, now I'm even more not too sure xd. I moved two problematic games to my c drive, and it instantly crashed twice (I think it's safe assume my SSDs aren't bad?). then I proceeded to remove 1 stick of ram. both games ran fine with zero crashes. I then swapped the sticks expecting maybe this stick to cause a blue screen but it didn't. it ran fine as well. I then proceeded to put both sticks back into the motherboard and well, it ran fine all night. whea means there was a hardware failure, but is there any way to get more details from windows? not sure if their crash logs state something more specific, but I'm not sure if that can help since I can't generate crash logs to begin with.
  2. You aren't mistaking this for coil whine by any chance? Here's an example of coil whine. But effectively, when a GPU is under load, there can be "whining" or a "buzzing" sound coming from your gpu. If it is coil whine, there's not much you can do about it. Maybe if you contact Gigabyte, they might (but I doubt it) rma it for you and maybe you'll get another card that has "less" coil whine.
  3. That's true. This ram ran fine OCd at 3644MHz as well for quite some time but maybe something is failing. I think I downloaded the wrong files for memtest86 and that's why I couldn't get it to work. I just re-downloaded it and ran it. The ram was still running at 3200MHz when I ran the tests and memtest86 returned 0 warning/ errors. For now, I'm moving the games that have given me the most blue screens off to my C drive to test if it's potentially my D drive ssd that's busted. If I still blue screen, I'll remove the OC back to stock/ default speeds and see if that helps.
  4. when you say memory diagnostic, I ran the windows memory diagnostic check? I was going to run memtest86 however I could not get it working. Anyways, the windows memory diagnostic returned no error. in the meantime, I will also try and run a memory stress test. I'll also move a game to my primary ssd and play around and see if maybe it is a potential ssd error (again, only crashes during gaming and all my games are on the D drive, coding, browsing, prime 95 benchmarks, etc have never crashed). I don't have any spare parts other than a hard drive and b250 motherboard. I can also try using one stick of ram as well. Still not sure why I can't create dump files even though I've tried everything I could find online regarding this...
  5. Ah yes, that's really helpful. Just crashed again with the same BSOD. Hmmm, now I'm not sure what it could be.
  6. Interestingly enough, I went to `check for updates` and there were a few drivers that were "out-dated." I had attempted to install them but it actually caused me to get stuck in a bsod crash boot loop (different blue screen error). The corsair mouse driver windows was trying to install wasn't cooperating leading to a bsod, and if I tried to use an recovery, windows would instantly try and install the new driver causing it to crash again... In the end, I had to re-install windows. I'm still trying to collect data, however, attempting to start up borderlands 3 did cause a blue screen. Unfortunately, I wasn't recording the screen with my phone so I have no idea what the actual error was, but I can only assume it was most likely the same error. I'll keep watching out for it.
  7. I believe my firmware is ADATA_SX8200PNP42B7T1KA? Well, that's the details I get from Hardware Ids. For a format, I'm guessing we're talking about the D drive (the ADATA)? But just to double check, Windows formats the C drive when installing windows and the D drive when I created the new partition for it? But either way, I'm okay with formatting the drives. As for GPU Temps, it runs at 65C under load.
  8. right, but as I've mentioned, if I click on update firmware, it just takes to their product page. that's what I'm confused about cause it doesn't seem to update the firmware.
  9. would you know how to do it? I couldn't find much info for it.
  10. yes, however, like I mentioned, it just takes me to their product page, and when I click on the SX8200 Pro, I only get an option to download the toolbox, acronis software, or SSD manual. No firmware is available.
  11. Yup, I ran both those commands as well as `chkdsk C : /f` and `chkdsk D : /f All those tests returned no errors. I tried to check for firmware updates and the Rocket 4.0 is up to date. I tried to update the firmware for the SX8200 Pro however it just takes me to their products website and there's nothing useful under downloads except for their ssd toolbox, their version of acronis, and the manual. Didn't find any firmware files.
  12. OS - Window 10 Pro (x64) Version - 10.0.19041 Build 19041 Hardware Age - Roughly 4 years CPU - i7 7700k (no OC) Motherboard - Gigabyte z270x Gaming 7 GPU - EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid (no OC iirc) Ram - 16GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengence (3200MHz OC xmp) PSU - BitFenix Whisper M 550W C : SSD - Sabrent Rocket 4.0 500GB D : SSD - ADATA SX8200 Pro 2TB (Games Drive) Description: All I know is that It's WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. I've tried to use the event viewer however all I get is `Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.` I'll post the zip files from the Sysnative File Collection in a DropBox link below. All I can really say is that this only seems to happen when I'm playing games. It doesn't seem 100% consistent either. One day, I'll get the blue screen from Rainbow Six Siege, the next day, it'll be Borderlands 3, and as of today, the error was from Destiny 2. There have been days where I play games and no blue screen occurs. In terms of what I've done so far, I've re-seated my ram, I re-seated my CPU and re-applied thermal paste (temps are 75C max under load), re-seated both SSDs as well. I do want to note that I wonder if there's something wrong with one of the SSDs, as before, I was using a SK Hynix SL308 and a WD Blue. Never had any issues like this however, I recently bought the M.2 SSDs a month ago and the BSODs started occuring a week from today. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the drives? According to CrystalDiskInfo, both drives are "good" with a max temp of 45C, and running a quick check with the ADATA SSD Toolbox doesn't show any issues. In terms of drivers and motherboard BIOS, they should be up to date. I mean, gigabyte hasn't really updated their support page for this motherboard in a while but I would assume that the drivers they have there are at the very least stable. If you have any idea of the issue or know someplace that I can get some help that would be appreciated as I'm completely out of ideas. 13. Is there any way to manually determine or fine out how much your router is allocating for you? I'm mainly just wondering why there are cases where my desktop gets like > 2mbps download on the 2.4GHz even though the only thing that's using internet is a tv box (stream service) and a tablet. I would think it's interference, except there aren't that many networks visible (compared to my apartment) and I do not believe people are using microwaves and what not at hour intervals. I feel like something must be limiting the bandwidth as there's no traffic on the 5GHz either (since at my parent's house, my dad made it so 5GHz is only for his pc and laptop only) so there's no throughput being used up on that side of the spectrum.
  14. So reading through this and some sites again, it seems like bandwidth is the theoretical max mbps you can get and throughput is actual mbps. and speed is the mbps between a device and a router/ world? For example, I pay for 250mbps, this would be the bandwidth. However, because of random things outside my control, my throughput is only capable of 240mbps. Meanwhile, if I try downloading a file from a server across the world, the speed of it would 10mbps. So are you saying that speed and throughput are interchangeable? So in this case, would it be correct to say I'm using 50mbps of the bandwidth? Also, is this also how a router handles data? Like, if I were watching a 4k video and was communicating, would I only be using up to 20mbps (random number) of the bandwidth or would I be using maximum bandwidth and just having that data sent in a fraction of a second?
  15. This is a bit vague and I'm not really sure how to put/ ask these questions, but there are some things I just wanted clarifications on. Bandwidth and speed: So, when I look it up, they use a highway analogy where bandwidth is "how many lanes are on the highway" and speed is "how fast a car can move." But I can't really make sense of this analogy. For example, I can take a speed test and find out I get 250mbps download speed, but does that mean my bandwidth is also 250mbps? For example: I'm playing a game and use 50mbps. If my friend were to download a game, he would get up to 200mbps (assuming the router doesn't prioritize him over me). 2.4GHz vs 5GHz: With the topic above in mind, if I had one device downloading something on the 2.5GHz channel using 250mbps, then the 5GHz wouldn't really have any bandwidth/ speed to use correct? As in that one device on 5GHz would have a slow time doing anything on the internet. So does it really matter how many devices you place on either channel (given how my max is only 250mbps, which let's say is supported completely for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz). 2.4GHz speeds: I thought 2.4GHz goes up to 600mbps? Is there any reason why the 2.4GHz would be worse than the 5GHz (distance doesn't matter, whether you're standing next to the router, in a floor above, below, etc). Does the interference from neighboring signals (like condo style aka 10's of routers within a small range) really drop the speeds from like 250mbps to 30mbps. Idk, the router advertises 600 for 2.4GHz and my devices are modern. If you guys can explain this a bit more to me, I appreciate it. Thanks.
  16. Sorry for the late reply, but that's what I ended up doing to get around the issue xd. One question though, is there a cmd to flush the server cache or something? Sometimes I'll update the workspace folder (add/ change a png or update the code) and I'm still being fed old file stuff. Like if I changed an apple png to an orange, my web page would still display an apple image.
  17. I see. Can't say I've heard or used nginx so I'll look into it in more detail. But quickly looking at it, the short answer seems to be I'm just gonna have to host the files somewhere or CORS won't leave me alone.
  18. For a course I'm taking, we use self made html pages to share our homework. Because of this, everything is supposed to be local files so web page urls look like "W://studentId/courseNum/index.html" and all the files follow the same format "W://studentId/courseNum/data.csv". For our next homework, we were given a series of latitudes and longitudes in data.csv and our goal is to display the markers with google maps implemented into our html page. The question is, is there anyway for me to locally import it? Every method I've tried with ajax and jQuery all result in a "file has been blocked by CORS policy..." I get that it's a safety concern but does that mean there is absolutely zero way for me to somehow read my json or csv file into an array then locally? Am I just gonna have to copy and paste the content of the json/ csv into a large array in my javascript code? Idk, it just doesn't seem really ideal to have such a large array located locally in your javascript code. //javascript file: crimes = [ {lat: a, lng: b}, {lat: c, lng: d}, {etc...} ] function (){ //read crimes }
  19. Yes, this code is for learning. We're supposed to use HTML in a class so I thought I'd familiarize myself with it. This code is a bit outdated. I could have sworn I had replaced all my hard dimensions with percents or vh/ vw, but I guess I never copied the new code and just ended up pasting the old one. Here is the updated the code. I was able to get it to format I wanted with the help of a template online. However, I was wondering if there is a more exact way to get the ratio for .img1 and .img2. There's like a 2 pixel gap or something between the height of the images. Probably not that noticeable, but a little annoying. Any other important changes, notes, etc. I should think about/ make for better design? <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>Index</title> </head> <style> body { background-image: url("unicorn.png"); background-repeat: repeat; background-size: 10%; } .container { background: #008080; margin-top: 10%; margin-right: 10%; margin-left: 10%; text-align: center; } img { width: 100%; height: auto; } .picsRow { display: flex; } .img1 { flex: 1.38955823293; } .img2 { flex: 1; } </style> < <body> <div class='container'> <marquee><h1><big>Welcome to my meme page.</big></h1></marquee> <h2>This is where I post random stuff.</h2> <div class='picsRow'> <div class='img1'> <img src="sonyLogo.png"> </div> <div class='img2'> <img src="vaporwave.gif"> </div> <div class='img1'> <img src="sonyLogo.png"> </div> <div class='img2'> <img src="vaporwave.gif"> </div> <div class='img1'> <img src="sonyLogo.png"> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html>
  20. Thank you for the suggestion. I modified it so the code now just looks like: img { height: 15vh; } This has made it so that the images are the same height, however, they are no longer responsive. Of course, that's because I don't have a width statement in that code. But adding a width doesn't solve my issue either. img { height: 15vh; width: 15vw; } Maximized vs Minimized You'll notice that in the two images, the heights are changing responsively which is good, but this leads to unequal stretching between the two images. I'm trying to get it so the height is the same, but the image ratio stays the same. I'm also hoping to fit those 5 images on the same row. I've been trying to mess around with containers and flex, but for some reason, the spacing between each image is so far away, that with 5 images, they have shrunk down to the point where you can't even see them. Not really sure how to get flex working at this rate.
  21. Trying to learn html and making a test website. Was wondering how can I have a row of images to be both responsive and have the same height. As of right now, I have two images (different sizes) in the patter "a, b, a, b, a." Right now, I've just set a hard limit under the img tag for a width and height of 15%. That gives me a responsive image, but obviously won't return the same height for the two images. If I remove that block of code img{}, then I'll get the same height, but the images won't be responsive since I've hard set the size in the div. How can I have both responsive and the same height? Tried some stuff online but the images were just displaying vertically. I don't have any of the code I tried since I deleted it so here's the base code I'm working with. How could I make it so that the 2 images have the same height while also being responsive? <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>Index</title> </head> <style> img { height: 15%; width: 15%; } body { background-image: url("unicorn.gif"); background-size: 10%; background-repeat: repeat; } div { background-color: #008080; opacity: 1; position: center; margin-top: 76px; margin-right: 96px; margin-left: 96px; text-align: center; } </style> <body> <div> <h1>Welcome to my meme page.</h1> <h2>This is where I post random stuff.</h2> <img src="a.png" width="192" height="138"> <img src="b.png" width="138" height="138"> <img src="a.png" width="192" height="138"> <img src="b.png" width="138" height="138"> <img src="a.png" width="192" height="138"> </div> </body> </html>
  22. Idk, maybe something isn't right like you said. I don't remember if I checked off set PATH for all users (I would have assumed I did) but it's possible I didn't. If I were to type pip install redis directly into cmd, it will say "pip is not a recognized command." Again, it is possible because the PATH isn't correctly configured. I will give a look into venv in the future. Just curious, why is it better to create a venv than using cmd to install modules? UPDATE: I just reinstalled/ modified python and "pip install <package>" is now working fine in the cmd. Thanks for the help.
  23. Again, it just keeps giving me a syntax error with install. You're right, I really shouldn't be using the bash files, but I just haven't been able to get the pip cmd lines working properly. edit* I should note that the previous statement "python -m pip install redis" does work. Not sure why I can't use "pip install"
  24. Two questions here regarding installing modules and using python in command prompt. I've linked up python to cmd, so when I type in python, it lets me do python code in the cmd module. I thought after that, all you'd have to do is import pip, then type -m pip install <module>, however, I keep running into the error "pip" is invalid syntax. I'm able to get modules to install with pip just fine if I create a cmd with "pip install redis," but I just can't get it to work through cmd. What am I forgetting? The other question was regarding the tensorflow install. I took a look at their website, but I must have forgotten something? Again, I tried to use pip ("pip install tensorflow" as well as "pip --upgrade tensorflow") with a cmd file. It runs but some error pops up. I can't really tell you what the error is because the cmd prompt closes instantly after the error, but I'm sure it's probably because I'm forgetting something. Thanks.
