  1. So i have just finished running a HDMI pass through from my study to the lounge room so that I could mirror my PC onto my lounge room TV. My question is - Can i run a wired keyboard & mouse AND a bluetooth/wireless keyboard & mouse on the same PC at the same time???? I want to be able to keep my current wired setup at my PC in the study but have a spare bluetooth/wireless setup in my lounge room that I can use if I need to operate the PC from my lounge room. I was hoping to use something like the the RAZER TURRET I don't have any spare bluetooth or wireless gear to test this so that is why I turn to you
  2. Looking at getting some monitor suggestions. Building my first PC in a while and need something that will suit my gaming needs. Have a budget of about $400-$500 AU. Don't really want to get into the 4K field, definitely not at this price range anyway and don't really mind if its 1080 or 1440. It also needs to look good. I will be running it off the following setup: Intel i5 6600 Asus H170 Pro 16GB Corsair 2133Mhz Asus Strix GTX 980 OC Any suggestions??
  3. Your paying for Samsung's 3D V-Nand tech......improves the lifespan of your SSD so it all depends on what price you want to put on that.
  4. Check out the EVGA PSU's....EVGA G2 650W in particular. Case wise....well its all about taste. Do you want to display the internals or just get something that is light or silent or simple. Personally I am looking at one of the 'Phanteks Eclipse PS400S' cases for my new build. But I am also partial to 'In Win' cases if you want something with fancy tempered glass sides.
  5. Agreed. Maybe provide us some details about your system so that we can warn you if the 1080 would be a suitable purchase for your current rig before you spend your hard earned money.
  6. A very similar build to what I am putting together at the moment. CPU: *Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($215.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($89.00 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus H170-PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($110.00 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($59.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($88.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.49 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($319.49 @ Amazon) Case: Phanteks ECLIPSE P400S ATX Mid Tower Case ($77.98 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($63.98 @ Newegg) Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM 24.0" 60Hz Monitor ($179.00 @ Amazon) Monitor wise, it all depends on what you plan to do. TN panels provide better refresh rates (good for gaming) but not great viewing angles or the best colours. IPS provide better colour but are more expensive and usually the worst when it comes to refresh rates and lag. You should be fine with the wifi card or look into a power line solution which is what I may have to invest in as well.
  7. Its an INTERESTING colour scheme for the fans on the cooler....LOL....The Dark Pro 3 comes in a push pull dual fan setup as well. Its maybe a little too bulky for my liking as well.....Thanks for the suggestion tho.
  8. Are we expecting the 1070s to come in around the same price as the current 970s??
  9. Didn't even notice that option. Cheers. Updated.
  10. The CPU Cooler was one of the parts picked based on looks. I love it. I will check out the PSU. Cheers for the suggestion.
  11. After being out of the PC gaming scene for years after transitioning to a MAC, i thought it was time to scratch that itch that never went away and build a new rig. I am looking at comments for the parts that I have put together to make sure I am on the right track and everything will work well together. My purpose for the build is as follows: Try and keep it somewhat budget; I won't be overclocking the CPU; It will be used for gaming, but not at 4K; Want to keep and clean and quite; and I want it to look good. I have probably picked some parts more to look good then to keep on budget. This 970 is a placeholder at the moment depending on 1070 pricing. I haven't selected a monitor yet so suggestions would be welcome. I will probably run a 2 monitor setup at some time in the future but 1 is enough for now. I am in Australia so purchases will come from places like Umart and MSY. PC PARTS LIST - Please let me know what you think.
