    Over the years it had become a potato, I have taped the intake to a hair dryer before and gotten improved results so maybe some extra pull from an external fan may help?

    I have used Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to stress test my CPU and the temps got up to 87 degrees Celsius then it started to thermal throttle.

    My laptop runs an Intel i7-2670QM and shares the same Heatsink with a GT540M. When running games my laptop just goes over the thermal throttling margin would it be worth it to open it up and replace thermal paste which has not been replaced in over 6 years? Also, would an Opolar Lc05 provide any benefit to the temps?

    Right done it, does not thermal throttle. Clockspeed seems to stock at 1.1GHz and occasionally goes up to 2GHz

    already is. BIOS is set to the highest performance setting aswell

    I'm sorry for using the wrong term. Any ideas on why my laptop thermal throttles?

    I think it used to. Its been used for like 7 years so I believe opening it up and reapplying thermal paste will help it out. If I tape a blow dryer to the exhaust so it sucks air out I can get it to turbo clock under load. Im thinking its something to do with the fan.

    My laptop runs an Intel i7-2670QM with a stock clock speed of 2.2GHz but often underclocks to 1GHz or even less to 0.4GHz. I don't really think heat is an issue because on idle it underclocks at 40 degrees Celcius. Any help getting it to run better would be greatly appreciated! Cam and task manager also show conflicting information which can be found in the screenshot, at the time I had 4 applications open, Minecraft, discord, Spotify and CAM.

    Well tomorrow I will go out and get the AT2020USB+ as I think there will be no difference.

    I have heard of the audio issues with windows 10 and USB microphones, so I was wondering what I should do. I need to know if getting an AT2020 XLR microphone plugged into a blue icicle would be better than the AT2020USB+ volume and sound quality wise. I need to know very soon as I need to make a decision in 4 days.
