  1. AT&T has it set up like that too but I don't think this is an issue of throttling unless its my computer and my YouTube specifically being targeted for it
  2. I usually use my phone's hotspot (AT&T unlimited plan, hotspot was enabled through a custom rom for the lg g3) for my internet since my home internet is horrendous. The hotspot is fast as all hell as seen in the attatched picture (it's actually usually a bit faster than that but no problem there really) and I used to be able to load 1080p YouTube without having to stop at all to let it buffer but recently (it's actually been going on for a while now) all of YouTube defaults to either 480 or 240p and 1080p constantly stutters and stops to buffer. I tethered my connection to a different computer and 1080p video loaded fine so this problem seems like its tied to my own computer. Also online games like Overwatch play fine with a consistent 60ms ping. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I can't live without seeing every single one of Luke's beard hairs...
  3. i made another post saying what i've tried already and different psu was one of those things. i dont have any different ram to try it with though.
  4. oh yea i forgot to include what we tried already; reseating the cpu booting with no ram to see if board was working (gave me the no ram beep code, board is still functional) booting with 1 stick of ram (same no post as before) using igpu (same no post) removing cmos battery to reset bios using the jumper cap to reset the bios using a different power supply (same no post)
  5. so i built a pc for my brother a while back and right away we thought nothing of its problem of not being able to restart on its own. the windows restart screen would do its thing but then the computer would never post again after that until we turned it all the way off and then back on. some time ago there was a trip in just our section of the upstairs part of our house (there are way too many power hungry things plugged in upstairs) and the computer wouldn't post at all so we just let that off as a dead mobo and i told him he probably needs a new one (i diagnosed every other problem. the parts are all working) . i turned the computer on today just to see if it would correct itself (we don't know why it does this but it does sometimes) and apparently it was working enough to post and tell us to run the bios setup so after my brother set the system time in the bios he saved the settings and restarted and now the thing is back to not posting. specs are as follows asus h61m-e i5 3330 r9 380 antec 650w (not sure of the exact model) 8gb ballistx sport ddr3 (don't know the speed) WD caviar blue 1tb HDD does anyone have any idea whats going on? i think it could be a bios problem and i'm going to reflash the bios if i can ever get the thing to post again but in the meantime does anyone know why its doing this?
  6. ordered an Asus p8h61-m from eBay and found this connector packed with it. anyone know what it is? I didn't know what to search lol
  7. damn I wish that stuff wasn't so deceptively cheap. thanks for letting me know!
  8. just won an ivy bridge i3 and eBay showed me this ram to buy. seems like a nice deal if its legit. any help?
  9. ah damn. was hoping to have this up and running today but looks like I'll have to wait until Wednesday. thanks all
  10. my brother got me an s340 for Christmas (nice) and I've discovered that my 4pin CPU power cable isn't long enough to get where it needs to (its an older PSU) is there any way I can take the 4pin power from another PSU and wire it to this one? in theory it sounds like it'd work but I'm no electrician
  11. I finally finished mounting that cooler and the ram slots are still dead. guess I'll have to buy 8 more gigs of ram but split b/w 2 sticks.
  12. its a real shame but I read somewhere that 2 RAM slots going out could be caused by the memory controller on the CPU not making sufficient contact so I'm reseating my CPU now, I can tell if the bit of dust was on there before or after I removed the CPU but it's gone now. I can barely mount this cooler though lol
  13. I think 2 of my RAM slots are just dead. I put 2 sticks of gskill ddr2 into the rightmost dual channel slots on the board and now its posting. great now I'll have to operate on 4gb of RAM for a while
