  1. Seems like everyone agrees it is better to wait a month or 2 then buy a ryzen 3600 ? Anyways my next upgrade will probably be a GPU one, which is why I need to buy a CPU that wouldn't become a bottleneck when I upgrade the GPU in a year or so.
  2. Currently running an i5 - 3rd gen and an Rx 570 8GB, the Ryzen 1600AF seems like a good option to upgrade to, I was wondering tho, if that would bottleneck any future GPUs ? How far would I be able to upgrade my GPU before being botlenecked by an 1600AF?
  3. I have XMP on; DRAM Freq; 3000MHz - DDR Voltage: 1.376V . However, I cant flash my bios right now because I'm going through a thunderstorm and could lose power at any moment. Would also like to add that everything has been working normally ever since I posted this.
  4. I also seem to remmeber i sue XMP Profile to use the RAM at 2933Mhz or something? Im not very finicky with the BIOS.
  5. Wasnt super cheap really, Team Group- 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz RGB also update - memory diagnostics reported no errors. EDIT -- I've also had this PC for about 6 month during which i had no issues.
  6. So, randomly playing "Apex Legends" and I get a blue screen with code "CRITICAL: STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION". and while I haven't gotten one in a while, I don't think much of it. After a restart, and then a few minutes, I relaunch the game and after 10 minutes or so am greeted with another BSOD with the same error code. My first thought was some over heating? so I ran a CPU stress-test (Prime 95) and got a max 83 C and no throttle to speak off (in fact was still boosted from 3.4 Ghz -> 3.525). I then went to the GPU and GeforceExperience was being glitchy and well, i decided to run a full reinstall of the drivers. After which I ran FurMark and got a maximum of 77C on my GPU as the temp graph plateaued and the fan maxed at 80%. so I thought the numbers where not high enough to cause any BSOD and as I was about to shut the stress test down; I get another BSOD, This time with the error code "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" . After a restart I ran a "SFC /scannow" and reported no errors, I am now going to run memory diagnostic tool. Not sure what to do next... Maybe a fresh install of windows? ----------------------------------- SYSTEM INFORMATION: Ryzen 5 2600 RTX 2060 - ZOTAC AMP! 16 GB RAM B450 TOMAHAWK MAX M.B ---------------------------------- HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED <3
  7. So, I have in to the fear of being that 0.1% that fried his graphics card before even building the system and have decided an ESD strap is a good investment, however Living in Egypt, the power outlets don't have an earth connection, so I'm left a little confused where I should attach it to... Also, if there's a specific type of flooring I should avoid ? Ceramic? Synthetic?
  8. RX 5700 still not available where I live, so I have no idea how much it'll launch for when it eventually does.
  9. I realize that, but at RTX launch I was pretty excited for the technology, i realise they sold us something that isn't ready, but wouldn't it be better future proofing ?
  10. Pricing is a little messed up where I live, so that's not really an option coz I'm on a tight budget.
  11. And so the time has come to start planning my first PC build... I've been looking into ultrawide monitors and the LG 29UM68-P monitor, at a very attractive price, seems to have all the features I've considered necessary (IPS panel, 99% sRGB, built in speakers...) However, as a beginner in 3D modeling and game development, I figured it might be worth it to pair the ultrawide with a 16:9 monitor which I could use for video reference or simply for watching YouTube videos while working on the ultrawide. This however, has had me confused over the size of the 16:9 monitor that would pair with a 29" ultrawide? I'd like both monitors to be about the same height (without stand) and to be vesa compatible. I'd prefer the secondary monitor to be an IPS panel with similar sRGB rating to avoid making them look off... Moreover I got curious if a GTX 1060 would be able to power both monitors sufficiently or if I should consider waiting, and investing into a 1070? Worst case scenario is gaming on the ultrawide (2560x1080) while playing some form of video on the 16:9 monitor. I also wanted to inquire whether at that size, the ultrawide's pixel density would be too low...?
