  1. @Emberstone sorry for the late reply. I did the manual over clock. so far my temps are btter, i now idle temps of about 38c instead of 45c. I still need to stress test to confim stability. The only issue i'm still having is my clocks never stay at 5ghz. it jumps from 4.7 to 4.9. Also just for the heck of it, i overclocked my ram.
  2. @tomoki i plan on getting it as high as i can, currently it is at 5ghz but it never stay at it, typically fluctuates 4,7- 4.9 . (windows power setting at high performance)
  3. Hello fellow Linus followers, i'm concerned about my temps from my cpu. According to CAM my temps are going past 85c and I have a feeling its combination of high voltages and Asus one click overclock . If i can, i would like to do a manual overclock and try to bring the voltages down. Last time i checked they were at ~1.4, that seems kinda high. I would also want to make the frequency to stay at the applied multiplier. Here is a quick part list of the important stuff. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/w7mD4q. thank you for all that reply. p.s. : i will be at work till maybe after 4 pm PST. p.p.s : i intend on taking off the aio and reapplying more thermal goop.
  4. Hello! I'm not sure if I put this ticket in the right place, if not, I will move it to the appropriate place. Anyway, Im looking in cleaning up the inside my case. I currently am using a InWin 303 (white), with 3x silverstone cable extensions. 24 pin,8 pin PCI-E and 8 pin ESP 12v. Im wondering what and where I can get quality cable combs, and which ones will fit my extensions. Thank you guys for the help!
  5. maybe, but if i go for the skylake cpu, then i have to get ddr 4 ram. i would like to go ddr 4 but money and time are my issue. trust me, i would go ddr 4 any day mainly because the motherboards are more aesthetically pleasing compared to most ddr 3 boards. but my i going to stick with ddr 3.
  6. Money, time are my 2 factors. i want to have this up and running before college starts. about 2 weeks, also just invested in more in more ram so i dont want to feel like i wasted my money. also some benchmarks i have looked at showed the 4790k preforming better (in most cases) than the 6700k
  7. so i assume that no one is questioning my choices on the CPU, MOBO and SSD, that they should be fine and not bottleneck my GPU? this is not set in stone, i might just get an air cooler. but that for another time.
  8. I was thinking eventually i would but i'm not going to until i have a better power supply. so it wont be for a while.
  9. Alright, thank you guys for the suggestions. But what do you guys feel about everything else? CPU, Motherboard, SSD? no i was not planning on water cooling my gpu (yet).
  10. Ok, i will change the PSU my next Paycheck, (not this one coming tommrow). for the cooling i just going to have the stock cooler, until i have money. i was thinking of getting maybe h 100i but i wont decide till i have the money to throw round.
  11. Is there a reason for you wanting me to change the PSU? i just got it when i got my GTX 1070 (2 weeks ago)
  12. Hello people! i have made a very dumb mistake! For i have bought a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC !, well that's not the mistake, it my impatience to get a new graphics card(upgrading from a Power Color R7 260x) without doing research. finding out the hard way that my AMD FX 6300 bottlenecks the crap out of this card!...... SO, i have decided to just upgrade! (woo!!) I want to ditch AMD (sorry, you will always be my first, but its time to move on) and go with Intel. For the processor i was thinking of getting a Core i7-4790K, as it still runs DDR-3, I was thinking of upgrading to DDR4 but I have like $600 USD to spend. I have the storage and ram, just need a new motherboard, cpu and new ssd to sweeten the deal(because the ssd i have now is just garbage). here is a link to Pc Part Picker for the parts i was looking to get( http://pcpartpicker.com/list/n43Jbj ) I feel this is pretty solid from the processor, as what I seen this puppy can out preform the new Skylakes in a lot of tests. I also wanted to go with the motherboard because it matches my build the best, but if you guys can suggest better I will compromise if needed. Im going to try to get these parts buy Saturday, but i wanted a few opinions from fellow techies. Thank you for your time, Stinkycrackers
  13. Ok guys, this might be a dumb question but should I just get a gtx 970 right now, or just wait and save a bit more money for when the gtx 1070 comes out?
