  1. This is when im doing nothing, if I open a program it will jump up and then back down like you said. I monitored in the BIOS and it stayed at 47 after working its way up from 37. Maybe the program monitoring is making it jump up and down but the I can see the speeds are jumping from 3.6ghz to 3.9 back to 3.6 depending on what im doing or what windows is doing.
  2. When gaming it seems to stay around 55 degrees but when idle it looks like the screenshot below. It will stay between 34 and 47 but change every second and jump up and then go back down again. I tried applying some new thermal paste and making sure my heatsink is seated correctly. I never noticed this before, I have a Ryzen 1500X using stock cooler.
  3. yo buddy, how often do you need to replace thermal paste?
  4. I bought my I bought my CPU when I was a PC noob and I discovered it was a locked multiplier after I bought it
  5. Thank, im glad to hear but I mean my HDD is nearly 4years old. I am worried it will fail soon. I dont know wether its worth getting a new hybrid drive and a copy of windows or something.
  6. Would the card be all compatible with the system? Any minor set backs like bottlenecking? Also is it worth getting 16GB of RAM? I do a little bit of rendering every now and then but I don't know whether 8GB will cut gaming and editing.
  7. I won't lie, its the HDD I think is just gonna go. Its actually like 4 years old.
  8. Thanks, its good to hear. I didn't really want to spend my money on 'maintenance', If I can get a couple more years out my mobo and that then I will go for it.
  9. You reckon it will be alright with my build? I am just worried my parts are a little out dated and they might being to fail soon.
  10. Thats actually quite nice to hear because I was worried about that considering all these other processors are out now. I think maybe if I just get a new HDD and case I will be good. I just don't want anything stupid like the PSU to fail on me. However Its going to be hard now for me to find as much money as I had when I built the rig so I am really trying to play this safe because I don't want everything to just go all at once.
  11. Hey guys, I am planning on getting a new GPU but tbh nearly everything in my PC even the HDD, SSD and case except the GPU is due for an upgrade as it is almost 3-4 years old but I really have not got the money at the moment to get all the new parts that I want so instead I wanted to get a GPU but I wanted to know if this card would go nicely in my rig. Also I am literally waiting for my hard drive to fail and I have windows 10 just installed and I really don't want to spend my money on getting a new hard drive and copy of windows and I have had trouble trying to get windows on my 60GB SSD. I have a budget of £500 or $756. I am open for suggestions but I really do want that card as it looks awesome and will go well with my case (if I don't upgrade it) but obviously after I get that card I will have around £250 left and I would be greatful if you guys could tell the best thing I should do with the remaining money. I wanted to get a nice white motherboard to go in my Aerocool sixth elemant white case and new DDR4 RAM with a new Skylake processor but then I will have no where near enough for the card or the white motherboard I want. Either way my case has seen better days. All the parts are coming up to around 3 and 4 years old. (except the gpu) Either way I want the card but I really need suggestions on what to upgrade with the remaining money or at least what would be the best option because I think some things are out of date and will fail and I really didn't want to spend all my money on replacing things, I wanted to get something exciting at least (gpu). Thanks MY CURRENT SPECS: GPU: Gigabyte GTX 750Ti CPU: Intel Quad Core i5-3470 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB 1600Mhz Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-D3H PSU: Corsair GS600W NEW CARD: Gigabyte GTX 970 Twin Turbo OC
