  1. Recently I have gotten back into programming, and though I have learned a decent bit of Java in the past, I decided to give C++ a try. I've found basic tutorials and such online from people such as Thenewboston, but many of them are fairly out of date it seems, or extremely uninteresting. I was curious, where do many others learn these languages when not in school for it? Any suggestions would be much appreciated! (If its a specific youtube video, a link would be great too!)
  2. Today, i had been happily playing the forest with friends, when a few had to get off. I had to start cleaning for my new desk, so i decided to move some things around, and start cleaning. When i was done, i put everythinf back, re-hooked up my computer, and though everything seemed to turn on properly, i still got no signal. So far, i have tried: -Unplugging and holding down the power button for 30-60 sec - Taking out my graphics card and trying to use integrated graphics -Cleared the CMOS -Moved RAM slots and took out different sticks -Unplugged and re-plugged all power connectors -Hooked it up to a different monitor and with a new cable Still, whenever i turn it on, everything moves, all fans run, my AIO pump goes on, the harddrive spins, but still, no output. From what ive read, this all points to a short on the mobo, but i hadnt really thought a light bump could cause it. I wanted to get other confirmations before having to buy a new one. Does anyone else have other ways I could test this, or do you think its all dead?
  3. Ill try it out in a little bit and report back
  4. Not currently, sadly. I was thinking about using a few parts from my own rig temporarily to switch and test things (ram, psu, like you said) though if it is the cpu, I have no way of telling.
  5. It begins to work again on its own after a amount of time. Sometimes it can last a few seconds, sometimes a minute or two.
  6. Yea, the entire computer will lock up for a random amount of time, even when checking e-mail and such. Its a full lock up too, including the cursor.
  7. Hey everyone, I seem to be having a strange problem. A few months ago my father had asked me to build him a new computer to replace his old one that he had had since around 2005. After putting it all together, after a small amount of use, my dad started to complain about the computer always pausing. This happened with my own rig in the beginning (been wondering if it had something to do with the AMD chip) but had stopped after about a week once it had been put together, so I told him to wait it out. He told me again today that it is still happening and is quite the annoyance, and since I don't have anything other than a few spare heat sinks sitting around, I decided to come here to see if you guys could lend a hand! I'm starting to believe that its the CPU he had chosen (its only a dual core A6-7400k), but before we pay more money for his system, I just wanted to confirm. I put a link to the rigs components below, I hope you guys can help! Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/34wJJx
