  1. Max budget is about $3k AUD. Although if I could find something closer to $2k that would be swell.
  2. The biggest issue with this is ram. Pretty much all of the laptops I've found that don't already come with 32GB have a 16GB limit on their ram so upgrading to 32gb isn't an option.
  3. Hey all. I'm currently on the hunt for a powerful laptop with a minimum of a quad core i7, 512GB SSD (pref 1tb) & 32GB ram. It's primary use will be for work. The only laptops I can find with these kind of specs are gaming laptops but I'd rather steer clear of something with dedicated graphics as every gaming laptop I've ever owned has terrible battery life & runs VERY hot, even for general use. I've found a few close to these specs (Like the Toshiba p55w) but they all have dual core processors which is a no go since I'm usually running virtual machines, IDE's, Photoshop & a billion chrome tabs simultaneously. I desktop isn't an option since I have to work quite a lot while traveling. Mac's are too expensive (at $4,000AUD they're double what a better spec'd gaming laptop would be) and don't have a 32GB ram option in their laptops. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance :-)
