  1. Nothing was installed on the SSD. Everything was installed on the HDD. I dont know if it is the Master boot record now but it was the original boot drive for the PC. Grub is downloaded on the HDD. I can't set the ssd to Mbr because I cant load windows up
  2. My PC was on windows, running on my SSD. I downloaded pureOS onto another HDD. Now when i unplug the HDD, and boot the PC it says “Reboot and select proper boot device.” When I select the SSD as the boot device in the BIOS and reboot it says the same thing. “reboot and select proper boot device”
  3. Its been a while since ive touched my pc since the pain of redoing everything really put me off. I did do some tests with my old PSU and I got the same results. fans on mobo lights up case lights on, psu running fine etc. I plugged my ssd into my laptop and it works fine, ssd is the boot drive. i tested different cables in the system since i did buy some braided ones, no different results. Unplugged and replugged in intel mobo memory, no results. Changed Psu, i put the plug in and i hear a crackle sound of electricity. i took it out and put it in again and it made smaller crackle. i plug in the pc and everything else, this time the pc turns on like it has erectile disfunction. Fans dont turn on, mobo lights are dim, gpu light was either off or dim cant recall, case lights on. after about a minute of running the psu fan slowly comes to a stop, the pc lights all turn off then its like a jolt of power turns it all back on, fan lights on for a split second, all lights bright and the psu fan starts running normally, until 3 seconds later it the psu fan slows down and comes to a stop. Process repeats. Occurs woth both PSU’s old and new. Prior to putting the new psu back in i tried the ram in different ways and tried restarting without the ram in. I think the mobo is fried but it could also be the psu? My wall plug is plugged into a pretty decent surge protector power board. Thanks so much for reading honestly any help is so appreciated
  4. All the lights and fans seem to be running fine in everything, I did not change the CPU or Motherboard. My current specs are: CPU: i5 7600k Mobo: Asorck z270 Extreme 4 gpu: gigabyte g1 1070 psu: corsair rx550m ram: corsair vengeance 2x8gb
  5. Gpu, but i tried the vga port in the mobo and still same result.
  6. Hi everybody, I've recently added some new parts to my PC including a CPU cooler, case, psu, psu cables, fans and an Intel Optane. When I turn my Pc on everything seems to be moving and all lights are on. Except the monitor which constantly says no signal. It cannot be the cables as theyre brand new and perfect and work with my laptop. Please help. I want to scream
  7. this is i nno way your fault if I screw up because right now I practically have already lost all my data, just trying to retrieve it
  8. Im using Windows 10 and have searched all over youtube for tutorials until finally coming here, I understand it is pretty hard to give instructions through text without a reference but I just hoped someone had been through this situation before and had known the way to solve it
  9. I used it as a storage device for my xbox, behind the tv. It has been near speaker bet they have never been used or turned on
