  1. I've recently purchased an XPS 13 with an i5 6200U processor, 256gb SSD, and a 1920x1080 IPS Display for roughly $1050. However, I've noticed I could get a Yoga 900 with an i7 6560 and Iris graphics, 256gb SSD, an a 3200x1800 IPS touch display for $150 cheaper. I'm not too hung up on the savings more the increased specs I could get. What is everyone's thoughts because I am frankly really conflicted on what to do.
  2. Well, this certainly has turned into a more interesting argument. My take away is that the lenovo is great for durability and the addition of a six cell seems great. Im still thinking about taking the XPS though. I might purchase the drop insurance or something, but Im going to give the lenovo options a second look. Thanks for all the help guys, even if it was a bit of a battle.
  3. What model do you have if you don't mind me asking? Any complaints?
  4. I think in my head I was getting benchmarks mixed up and after further invesigation it does seem to handle favorably and I see dell even offers their own battery bank. I might just have to pull the trigger on the $999.99 variant.
  5. I have considered the XPS 13 as it is an obvious contender in the market, however, the battery leaves a tad bit to be desired. For example, I my current programming class runs about 4 hours (Its ludicrous I know), and I am not always able to be next to an outlet. That being said, are external battery backs a good option for ultra portable notebooks like the XPS 13? If so would anyone have suggestions on a particular model that could get me another hour or two of juice?
  6. Hey everyone, I'm looking for a decent 13in option that has a good battery for my long days away at school, but to some degree has some portability. Currently I am looking at the thinkpad 13 with the extended battery or maybe the X1 carbon for the sweet portability. Im a computer engineering major so my day consists of random code compilation and note taking in various other classes. Im willing to spend around $1200 on the system. Let me know your thoughts and thanks ahead of time.
  7. Hey everyone, Long time fan of the Youtube channel so I figured this would be a good place to reach out for some help. I am in need of a laptop that could carry its own weight through my college career. To give some brief background I have a fairly decent i5/GTX 780 system already that I use for gaming and I am looking to have a decently powerful machine to use for my various intro to engineering classes and further computer engineering specific classes in the next four years of my life. My budget max is probably around $1300 to $1500, but I would prefer to keep it as low a possible if it can suit my needs. I would like to do some light gaming on it just to pass time in between classes, at lunch or anytime I cannot be at home. With that in mind I have been looking mainly at the Dell Inspiron 15 7000, but let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks in advance!
