    Nope I tested both of the sticks they work fine. Just one at a time in dimm 2

    dimm 2 for one stick of ram, and dimm 2 and 4 for two sticks of ram.

    Since the direction of the 24 pin connector must correspond to the way the slots are facing then I guess I'm not running in dual channel. Or at least I have one placed in my 2nd dimm slot.

    This is a brand new self built machine so I don't have any old ram, and what do you mean by "dual channel"? I'm very new to pc building. Sorry.

    Yup both are in the dimm 2 and 4 slots just like they have it in the manual. Actually before I installed my gpu my pc ran fine with 16gb of ram.

    Yes both of them are 8gb crucial ballistix ram. Part of the 2x8 kit

    Hi and thank you for your time for reading this. So I just built a brand new PC and I'm a new builder. Now my PC will boot with one stick of ram not two. I don't know why. It has the latest bios and xmp is on with default settings. But yet it still wont boot with two sticks. Any help is greatly appreciated. Both sticks have been tested on the same dimm slot and both work.

    Thank you everyone for all your help. Now on to find a reason why I cant boot with both sticks of ram.

    Nah before when I first assembled the pc I had the ram sticks in the 1st and 3rd dimm slots I had to move to cooler out of the way to get it in lol. But it didn't boot, so I moved it into the 2nd and 4th slots and it booted. Of course now it only boots in one slot. But I'll find a way to fix that.

    Yea it was in the 2nd and 4th dimm slots. And tried to do both sticks again amd didn't boot. But will boot fine with one stick.

    Update. It booted with one stick of ram and with the hdmi in the gpu. Now, how assured am I, if I place the other stick of ram that it'll boot fine. Also I'm downloading all the drivers for my gpu.

    Yea, tomorrow I'll just rebuild the whole thing. Maybe that'll work.
