  1. Thanks, but I had an ideia. I'll sell them my old rig (Pentium 4) and I'll work with it
  2. ECC memory isn't included in a Pi, and the kid wants to host his own MC server as well at the same time, so the Pi won't be a option
  3. Hi guys! So a friend of mine asked me to help him build his own cloud server and I said yes, but I don't know much about servers. So, I think that it's better to use ECC Ram because it's mandatory that the serves is 24/7 on. The budget is preety high, but the server intended is a low end, there will only be 4 users/5 tops, and they want 1TB for each person. So, please, sugest me a build. Thank you guys
  4. Hi guys! I know I used this sub-forum a month ago, but I still didn't bought my build because of my doubts. So, my pre-pre-pre-final-yet to be-final build is: CPU: Intel i3-6100 - 118€ (Upgradability) MOBO: MSI B150M PRO-VDH - 74€ (I need at least this one because more PSI-E slots and 4 Ram slots) PSU: Nox Urano 500W - 30€ Case: Cooler Master K350 - 42€ (Pretty) RAM: Gskill RipJaws 2x4Gb - 47€ GPU: ??? 750 Ti / 950 ???? So, this is my scratch build. I can get a Asus VX248H for around 100€ but I need my build to be the most cheapest and to be the best bang for the buck! So, about the GPU, my initial though was to wait and buy later a 960 or a R9 285, but after many thoughts I still don't know what to do... If there are going to be some price drops because of the new Pascal GPU's or if is worth buy now and stick with a 750 Ti... And also, what is more worth it? The 750 Ti(OC 2GB for 140€) or the 950(158€)? Also, to check the prices, please use this site, as is where I'm going to buy all my parts https://www.pcdiga.com/ Please, all feedback is welcome!
  5. Hi. Thanks for all your replys! About the Z170 motherboard, yes, I'm going to overclock the i3, thats why Im getting a Z170 About the video card, I'm currently looking at the R9 280X. I think it fits better on my budget if I try to buy it used, as I think I can. Also, I got the monitor for 75€ used, and its currently priced at 150€, kind of a great deal to me Thanks again for all of your replys
  6. HI. Thanks for the reply. I've already seen the youtube benchmarks, but they aren't really conclusive to me. About the GPU, I know, I'm waiting for Pascal to be released and for the price drops. About the 380 vs 960, I had that discussion already in my mind, but I think that I'll be picking the GTX 960, because it has some benefits over the 380
  7. Hi guys. So, after a couple of weeks scavenging for parts, I think that I decided my final build. CPU: Intel i3-6100 - 122,90€ Motherboard: Msi Z170-A-G43 - 110€ + RAM offer RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 2x4GB 2400Mhz - Free SSD: Kingston SSDNow 300v 120GB 2.5' - Already had PSU: Nox Urano 500W - 29.90€ Monitor: Asus VS247HR - 139.90€ Case: Still hadn't decided, but I'm going for something with the window side panel to be like the cool kids So, it's a decent build, but you may have noticed: and the GPU?!?!?!?!? Well, I need a PC to work also, as I'm currently using a Surface RT, which isn't enough for my needs, so I need to build asap. That said, I'm going for no-GPU for now on my build, but I have some questions about the Intel HD 530 iGPU. Can it run crysis? Jokes aside, I'm a heavy CS:GO player, so I need to know if this temporary iGPU cuts my needs. If someone is using one and has CS:GO, I would kindly ask if you could run this config and see how many fps you get in casual please (Also, launch options: -novid -high). Also, any experience with this iGPU would help me. Thanks EDIT: For anyone who is wondering which GPU will I get, I think the MSI GTX960 Armor 2GD5T OC, which is price tagged at 193€ at Portugal. EDIT2: Added prices
  8. Hi. Thanks for your reply, but please explain me something. How can the skylake be discontinued soon when it just got released?
  9. Wow, thanks for the fast replys! Thanks Moonzy for the help, I think Ill go for the 960 then. ChrisCross, I prefere to use an Intel processor in this build, so I can later upgrade for a i5 or better. Meerkat, thank you also, but notice that the monitor price isn't included in the budget
  10. Well, this is the secoud time that I’m writing this because the website decided to log me off when I sended the post, so everything is lost. Oh well… So, hi guys! So, my laptop died today after 6 years of heavy use (An old Acer Aspire 5740G, my pride and joy), so I have to buy a new one, and this time I want to build my own one. I want it to be able to performe well and game, but again, the old cliché in builds: I have a strict budget… My budget is around 400~€. I’ll be listing some parts that resulted from my search, but I’m open to all sugestions and changes! Just notice that I live in Portugal and I only buy from Portugal shops (I don’t care if they are online or physical shops), so keep in mind that here parts are a bit more expensive. So, the parts list: CPU: For the CPU, I was looking at the Intel i3-6100 Skylake. I know that isn’t the best, but I’m looking for something with a long-term upgradability, so a skylake is what makes more sense to me, so I can upgrade it later for some better CPU. Long-term upgradability is something really importante to me, so keep that in mind. Motherboard: I didn’t choose a specific one, although I have read that some Asrock motherboards are capable of overclocking non-K CPU’s, but I don’t know if it’s worth it, but probably is. I want it to be capable of DDR4, again, for long-term upgradability, and because I read that with this CPU, DDR4 helps to gain some extra speed. RAM: Again, I didn’t choose a particular set, but I want something cheap with a fast clock, like a 2666Mhz to squeeze some extra performance from the build. I also don’t know if I should go for 8GB or 16GB. I trust on you guys to help me out GPU: Now, here comes the tricky one… I read about the AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB OC from Sapphire, and saw that was a cheap and a good card. Then I saw the GTX 960 4GB OC also, and I got really mixed up. I feel like the GTX has some extra funcionalitys that I could use, like the recording without the fps lost, the better drivers and etc. I genuinly don’t know which one should I choose… Again, please help me guys Case: I don’t really care about the case, as long as it cheap and cool. I would like that the case had a side window panel, but it if bumps the price to much, I can live without it… Power Supply: Once more, I don’t know, as long as it’s cheap and reliable, and has some room for future upgrades. Storage: This won’t be included in the budget as I have an extra SSD and a 1TB HDD laying around. Extras: I won’t need a DVD burner or anything extra, as I also have them laying around in my cave (I fix PC’s for some people, as sometimes they give me they’r old or broken PC’s so I take what I can ) Just a tip, so you can have some knowledge of Portugal prices. In Portugal, we use a search plataform for shopping parts called KuantoKusta. It searches in most stores, if not all in Portugal. Just go to www.kuantokusta.pt and search for the part name in the search bar and it will give the price of the part in Portugal, so you can keep in mind how much it costs here. Thanks for helping me get the most of my money, pedroribeiro PS: I’m also buying a monitor that won’t be included in the budget, but I was looking at the BenQ RL2455Hm, because my budget isn’t the best and I’m a hardcore CS:GO lover, so I think this is the best monitor for the price, but if someone knows one better or cheaper, I would love it. Thank you guys again
