  1. I'm looking at buying the EK A240G kit. I've been looking at the configuration website that shows the list of compatible cards but am not sure if my card will work. I have an eVGA GeForce GTX1080 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0, however the config list doesn't show the "FTW" version of the card, but rather just the: EVGA EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 8GB GDDR5X (08G-P4-6181). I can't tell if this is the same card or not, or if they have the same PCB. Does anyone know?
  2. I recently posted that I want to remove the stock GPU fan setup and strap 2x 120mm fans directly onto the heatsink of my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X. I've been browsing recently and have narrowed down the two fans I'm looking at. Just wondering what is the best for this sort of a setup (I've heard that the P12 is both quieter and works well due to the static pressure req to push air through the heatsink 'grills'). I'm just looking for the all around best option that will be, both quiet, but also cool. Also, as both these fans have a low max rpm ~1500, would it be suitable to run these on a GPU?
  3. Technically. But I'm planning on carefully removing the "warranty void" sticker and saving it for later, if need be.
  4. yeah I was looking at removing the plastic shroud with the existing fans and mounting the new fans directly onto the heatsink
  5. I'm interested in replacing the MSI cooling setup on my GTX 1080 with 2x Noctua NF-F12 fans. The noise is a bit too loud for my liking and I think this would work very well. I want to zip tie the two fans onto the heatsink and then connect the fans to the GPU fan header for auto PWM control. Just wondering if you think this would work well to alleviate my problems? I imagine this won't impact temps- if not perform better than the stock fans?
  6. I'm looking at liquid cooling my GPU- since I live in Australia, summer temps get very hot and this negatively impacts my 1070. My PC is very quiet in winter when the GPU fan speeds remain under 30% but with the summer heat it can get very loud. I'm looking at getting a NZXT G10 bracket but now I just need an AIO liquid cooler. Don't want to get anything too expensive; just something that's quiet and does the job- I've had bad experiences in the past with Corsair AIO pumps so am steering clear from them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  7. Hi all, when I plug my K70 RGB into my PC I get a "power surge" warning before it shuts down. Works fine on my laptop. However, I can smell a 'burnt plastic' odor on the RHS of the keyboard- you guys think that its stuffed? My other peripherals work fine without any issues, just the keyboard doesn't function.
  8. Hi all: Just trying to diagnose an issue I'm having with my Asus ROG Swift PG278Q monitor. The LHS seems to be flickering ever so slightly and the RHS has faded, blurry text. I've tried different Display port cables so I know its not that- just trying to figure out if its a panel or GPU issue or maybe something to do with software. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Yeah, same native res and aspect ratio
  10. Hi all, I'm having issues with text on my PC- I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software thing (maybe an issue with my monitor, Displayport cable?). The text on the LHS of my screen looks crisp, like it should on a 1440P panel, but as it moves over to the RHS text is very blurred. Just wondering what my best course of action would be to resolve this- I've messed around with Windows scaling, GPU updates, but to no avail. (I have an Asus ROG Swift PG278Q monitor)
  11. Hi there, I'm not too informed about networking so just have a quick question. If my internet speed is constant, and I'm on ethernet, will general Wi-Fi use impact me like it would were I also using a Wi-Fi connection? i.e If I'm playing an online game w/ ethernet will other people using Wi-Fi cause me to lag as I would were I playing a game using Wi-Fi? Regards
  12. Hi, does anyone know if the Windows 10 Data Usage monitor tracks multiple sources (ie. Cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet)?- or is it simply limited to the current source that you are using at that given time? I just downloaded a 6GB game off Battle.net but the monitor only shows that 3GB was downloaded from b.net...
  13. Hi all. I'm looking at routing an ethernet cable from my modem downstairs to my PC upstairs. The distance is roughly 20 meters. Therefore I'm looking at getting a 50 meter cable just to be safe on length (can maybe drop down to 30 meters if I can find them online). Just wondering if there is any drop in performance past a certain threshold? (as I'm aiming to get better performance when gaming as my Wi-Fi reception upstairs is terrible). Thanks.
