  1. the shroud is what's holding the heatsink down and in place as well as in the way.. well was in the way before i cut it away a little bit. also i hear dell heatsinks are bad if possible i would like to get a smaller more efficient heat sink.. but i don't know how to go about getting a compatible replacement
  2. my current cpu heatsink housing is banging against my video card. the current heat sink is held down by a housing but has 4 holes around the cpu for different types of heat sink attachments atm i did some rigging by cutting off the problem corner of heatsink housing that's blocking the vid card then poking a hole in it and zip tying it down and thats working for the moment but i don't trust it for long term. i need to know how i would go about looking for a different heatsink that compatible. what's the pros and cons of them big fat heat sinks vs the little 1s with the fans on top? also dose thick or thin heat sinks mater? i also plan to be upgrading my cpu to a quad core. (in img) orange is video card red is where it's rubbing the housing purple is roughly where current heat sink is and black surrounding the purple is the housing which also holds the cpu down

  6. i heard this was a good place to get help for this kind of stuff plz be gentle i'm somewhat new to upgrading pc's i understand most the basics i think like power supply/ram/ddr/bus width/pci more or less i got a optiplex 330 and i just got a new video card but now i'm feeling like my cpu/ram is what's holding me back from my own research it seems i cant get bigger ram so thats a no go so i need help figuring out what's the best cpu that works with my current setup i already upgraded from a old single core to a duel but i need something a bit more... atm im looking at http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/131292606225?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true and http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Intel-Core-2-Duo-E8500-3-16-GHz-Dual-Core-KD175AV-Processor-/121954103211?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 are they the best i can use? will they work?
