  1. Hi All, I am about to buy a new monitor and graphics card, i would like to get an ultrawide 1440 monitor, Either the LG 34uc88 - FreeSync or the ASUS PG348Q - Gsync. now obviously if i get the cheaper LG monitor then i wont have Freesync on an Nvidia card so i will have to settle for Vsync. my question is, can the GTX 1070 run the latest games at above 60fps consistently so i can have Vsync enabled? or should i go for the more expensive ASUS monitor with Gsync? or is there a better ultrawide 1440 monitor and GPU combo i can get? any advice would be great, Thank You everyone!
  2. The Neos is a good case, a few too many hard drive bays for me, I would take most of them out and put a nice radiator in there, but it mainly depends on what you want to put in there.
  3. Hi, I am a gamer and i am looking to upgrade my 1TB HDD because its getting old and slow, i am looking at either getting 2 Samsung 850 EVO SSDs in Raid 0 totaling 1TB or getting 1 Samsung 950 PRO NVMe 512GB M.2. from the seller I am looking at they both cost almost the same so price isn't an issue, i am looking for performance and longevity. Primarily i will be storing games on the new drive so i want as much read speed as i can get. can anyone tell me which is better an NVMe M.2 or 2 SATA 3 SSDs? THANKS!
  4. OK, so how could I control which network is default? i assume it would be a configuration in the server's network settings?
  5. Hi, I have a 2 routers at home, both on different networks (both with an internet connection), i also have a small server running Windows Home Server 2012 which i use for file sharing and video streaming. I want to find a way to connect the server to both networks simultaneously, so computers on both networks can have a wired connection to it (to make streaming easier). but i want both routers to keep their own internet connection. I was thinking about buying a Dual port Gigabit NIC to put in the server, then connecting it to both routers and bridging the connections, just wandering if that would work or if there is an easier way. Thanks.
  6. I would call e-buyer first, see if it is still under warranty, if it is then just RMA it, if not then call EVGA directly and see what they can do for you. failing that you can pick up a cheap second have PSU, it doesnt need the full wattage of your current one (you can always take out the graphics card or RAM), its just to check if it is a PSU issue
  7. Reading this, it sounds like a PSU issue. Firstly look on your PSU does it have a small red voltage switch on it saying 240V or 120V, try switching that first, you may be on the wrong voltage. Second, try to source another PSU from someone just to test and rule that out as the issue, but i suspect if you change the PSU that will resolve the problem.
  8. sorry should have mentioned, all downloads are blocked by GPO and the systems are bios locked and i cant access the registry.
  9. So, i'm trying to watch the Linus videos at work, but they are all blocked by Mcafee Web Gateway 7, I can watch the videos that have been posted on the forums but i cant get onto youtube. is there any way (That wont get me Fired) that i can bypass the web gateway and watch the videos?
  10. True, i know you can do the same with Palet cards too, but i think he was talking about a Zotac Card and i know most of their cards have some form of tamper protection on them
  11. No it wont, the only way to VOID the warranty on a Graphics card is to take it appart. some cards have stickers that break when you take it apart, but newer Nvidia cards have seals on the screw holes that break when you open it up. but in terms of software, no, do whatever you want to, you can always flash it back to normal afterwards.
  12. Hi, i have had a few problems with my system recently and i have sourced the problem to a BIOS error, i am trying to update the BIOS on the motherboard. my motherboard is an ASUS Sabertooth X79, it has an EZ BIOS flash port on the back, so i download the BIOS ROMs online, unzip them into a USB formatted in Fat32 (I have tried NTFS aswell) and rename the file to SABERX79.rom, plug the USB into the dedicated BIOS flash port on the rear of the motherboard (the White USB port) and hold the BIOS button down for 3 second until it starts flashing. now my understanding is, if the BIOS update is successful then the BIOS button will flash for a few minutes and then stop and the light will go out, but when i do it, the light flashes for arounrd 3-5 seconds and then turns solid which i understand indicates a problem. Does anyone know where i can find a good version of the BIOS for my board? or is there anything else i need to download and put on the USB other than the BIOS? Thanks
  13. Thanks man, i think you have just saved me a lot of money. I will keep you all apprised of the build as it continues. Thanks ALL!
  14. My Current specs are: X-79 Sabertooth i cant remember the CPU i think is an i7 3820, its definitely not a K version, it doesn't overclock very well 16Gb RAM running at 1866Mhz Corsair 750w Modular PSU AMD R9 290x GPU 120Gb SSD Boot drive and a 1TB WD blue HDD i definitely want better RAM, Processor and GPU, what do you think i can do with that?
  15. its going to be used for gaming, at the highest resolution and ULTRA settings, and dont factor the monitors into the price, i have already got them.
