    Odd Question

It does, but I use three monitors and regularly switch display configurations. The passthrough will not work unfortunately. I appreciate the help fellas.

    Odd Question

I have tried and researched with no success, I think it might not be possible with on board audio. If I'm going to use analog I'd probably want a sound card for better audio quality anyways. If I purchase the cables and put it all together it wont be worth my time and money. I guess a soundcard it is then. I really appreciate the help, have a great day!

    Odd Question

Right, makes sense. I was trying to utilise the rca cables I had around but it will not work with the stereo output of the 3.5mm jacks, of course. Indeed it can, through my research I have heard the same thing. I am talking strictly about games though, through research and personal experiences I don't think it is possible while gaming. My previous motherboard was the same way, I purchased my sound card and everything was seamless from there on. I use a three plus one monitor setup, I don't believe this would work. I haven't used hdmi audio from a graphics card in many years, wasn't it always stereo? My problem is not getting audio, it's getting audio in 5.1 channel surround.

    Odd Question

That's why I was posting here first, I'm curious if anyone has tried it. My friends aren't tech savvy and don't have something like this. The link posted is the equivalent to a radio shack here, but I live an hour away from any of them.

    Odd Question

Hi everybody, I'm experiencing some trouble connecting my pc to my receiver and getting 5.1 channel audio. Currently I can only get stereo through the optical port. I have recently switched motherboards to one that can not support the sound card I previously used. (Xonar D1 I believe, it's been a while) This leaves me with the option of on board audio or buying another sound card. Through some research I discovered that this board does not support 5.1 channel audio out of the optical port, only from the analog jacks. My receiver does support "multi channel in", but the connectors are rca jacks and of course my motherboard uses 3.5mm jacks. So, my question is, can I use an adapter such as this (http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Audio+Accessories&product=8016082) and just use rca cables to my receiver? I believe this would work, but I would like to get your opinion before I purchase any of these. Any help is much appreciated, thanks. 6. I managed to get surround working in some games, not sure how, but I did. Although it appears to only be in select games, maybe this is a video driver issue?
  7. I got home and tried cranking the clocks all the way down, no luck.
  8. It's probably been a year or more since I did a clean install, but I'd really rather not if I can avoid it.
  9. Connectors are definitely secure! Both my old cards and my new cards come factory overclocked, that could be something to try I guess. Could you suggest a good video card over clocking manager/software? I use vega precision x right now but I don't like it much.
  10. I'm pretty sure SLI is enabled, says it is anyways!
  11. I got the newest drivers from Nvidia for sure! Ill check that out, seems like something too simple to miss, haha. Thanks buddy!
  12. I haven't no, only stock skyrim on my desktop. I heard that skyrim with heavy mods can be pretty demanding though? It would probably run skyrim no problem on high, I cant see that being a problem.
  13. http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=84162&vpn=GT70%202OC%2D016US&manufacture=MSI&promoid=1035 I purchased this laptop around August, performance has been great for anything I've played so far. Don't expect it to max out any top tier games, but as long as you have reasonable expectations you wont be let down. Feel free to ask any specific questions!
  14. Hello everybody, this is my first post on this forum so forgive me if I do something improperly. I'm having problems with surround gaming ever since I bought a new motherboard (MSI Z77 MPower) http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77-MPOWER.html , Surround seems to work properly doing regular browsing and desktop things, but when I try to launch a full screen game my system crashes. My computer has been generally buggy ever since I got my new board, my old board was an asus p8p67 deluxe that died on me recently. My old setup ran surround fine despite being underpowered, but it definitely worked. The specs of my system previous to this upgrade are Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe CPU: Core i7-2600k Overclocked to 4.47Ghz Graphics: 2xGtx 570 Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4Gb Storage:240 Gb Kingston SSD and a 500Gb Seagate HDD Power Supply: Corsair TX750. All I upgraded was my graphics cards (2x GTX780), power supply(XFX 1000W) and I changed my motherboard(listed above) out of necessity. My computer runs full screen games fine in sli on one monitor at 1080p, it just seems to be a surround problem! Please help, I bought these graphic cards specifically for surround so I really want this to work, it did before, right? Any help Is greatly appreciated, I will try to check this as much as I can as this is somewhat an urgent issue. Again, apologies for the poorly edited post, I haven't been part of a forum in many years. Linus talks you guys up all the time so I figured there was no better place to start!
