so more physical cores is better for my needs? then I might choose the i5. The assembly will have to wait for a while longer.

MAX amount maybe willing to spend $200 but want the lowest cost cpu to handle my work. PS higher the cpu cost, longer the assembly will have to wait. i already got it and other parts for a new system. just need cpu to get it started. then adding better cooling for cpu and air flow inside system afterwards.

ok this is how i see it. 1 fresh install on new pc with thumb drive 2 have os installed on to ssd 3 skip the activation code input 4 go to the setting and reactivate with my account ( can i have my hdd installed and view my data on it after the os installation and activation?)
