  1. Just to clarify, we will have the AP or similar on the car itself and use a laptop to connect to it. We will be at a racetrack, so basically and airfield with very little other than distance between the laptop and the car. I hope this helps.
  2. The dish would be great, but it has to be attached to the care to be able to send the data. Any ideas?
  3. Hi all, So I will give you all a background on the project. I am part of an FSAE team called Oxford Brookes Racing (shameless plug to our website - https://obr.brookes.ac.uk/). I am part of the controls team and last year we developed wireless telemetry using an Arduino and an XBee. This year, after it being a very unreliable connection we are looking at using a WiFi network to send all our data. If we have a fairly standard laptop the receiving end, what kind or AP would i need to be looking at to get about 1-2Km of range? Thanks for all the help!
  4. I will be using it for CAD and Univeristy work, Ihave done a little digging and can add a gaming GPU down the road if I set it up right.
  5. On either of these, would I not be better using a Quadro card over a GTX?
  6. I have 1600x900 monitor now and have all the other peripherals required. I would like a new pair of monitors, but not necessary. I will pick them up as and when.
  7. I don't have an exact budget; at the moment, but as little as possible. And i would be rendering a few things, mainly just design though.
  8. Hi Guys, I am looking at building a workstation for CAD work, I will be using primarily SolidWorks. I am unsure what would be best, I am currently using a Lenovo laptop equipped with an i5 5200U (2.2GHz) and a Nvidia GT series GPU. I am completely okay with used hardware and want to keep the price to a minimum. I would like it to be fairly small (mATX) if possible and quiet too. Any input would be great Thanks! I am in the UK so GBBP would be great.
