  1. I'm not looking for Gaming headfones and if i want a mic i'm willing to get a mod mike
  2. I'm in the same boat. I can't tolerate in ear (buds etc) and prefer closed headphones cause i'm planning to use them at work and i need to not have the sound leak issues. I've tried and mostly liked california headphones least expensive model though my head is large enough that the clamping force was a bit much.
  3. Thank you for the advice. I'm searching for the cable right now. If that ends up fixing it this is officially as bad as the guy whose pc didn't work cause of the power outage.
  4. I'm installing a samsung 850evo ssd into my system which is running windows 10. I'm aware of how to get a drive appearing in the bios/disc management to initialize. The problem is the drive doesn't show up in the bios. I've tried switching ports and have double checked that the cables are properly connected. My first guess would be hardware issue (dead drive) except that the drive had been very recently installed on another pc as the c drive
  5. Thanks for the tip Chevy. Do you have a reveiwer whose opinion you trust more? I do like the look of the AKG's.
  6. The top limit of my budget is $200.00 (flexible). Also, i've checked out the Teksyndicate (gaming headphones suck) videos and tend to agree with them often, but am not going by them cause i'm not in the market for open phones.
  7. Really like my loredo's but the clip that holds the cups onto the band broke. I'm wearing them now (have them attached now using packing tape. So I'm in the market for some closed corded headphones that are decent to good quality. Had considered moving up to the silverado phones from the same company, but those are at the top end of what i'm willing to spend and suspect i can do better at that price. I'm planning to wear them at work and want to avoid NSFW being overheard by co-workers (and don't want to hear office banter). Portability isn't much of an issue.
  8. What programs do you use to monitor temperatures?

    Fans..

Not sure it's appropriate to piggyback on this thread. I've got my rig in a define r5 case which has a fan control (powered by sata). Am I better off plugging into the motherboard or case?
  10. The above list is correct with the addition of the cpu power (8-pin). I have confirmed that the cpu pins are bent.
  11. I'd have to rebuild to do that. i've been testing on my dining room table or on the motherboard box and with cat and kid i don't like having my parts out on the table when i'm not around. I think some of the pins on the motherboard are bent, though will take to a pc store to confirm
  12. I'm having difficulty trying to confirm my pc is posting. I have it built on my table (wood) with only 1 stick of ram in different slots and i'm sure my power connectors are fully seated. The cpu fan does turn on, though that doesn't confirm post. The only thing else i can think of is defective part? I don't have extras to do swap outs
  13. That is good to know. Thanks again for your help. It's possible this is enough to prevent damage. About a decade ago (or more?) I had a cpu that got it's pins bent because it came out when i pulled up on the fan. Also the pc had been used for over a month when this happened (while i'm talking about 5 minutes of use).
  14. Silly question here but this is my first time using a non stock cpu cooler. I recall someone mentioning using the stock fan to test outside the case before installing inside. How do I get the thermal compound to release so i don't damage my cpu when taking the stock fan off? Many years ago i had a cpu that was ruined cause i pulled off the fan and the cpu came off with the retention arm still closed.
