  1. Joe, have you tried running your game from a faster drive? I think hiya is right, you could be maxing out your hdd. You should get stutter, sudden stutter and long waiting times when the game engine needs to read files from the HDD. It's strange that it only runs smooth in 4:3. I would say it may also be the dp cable, but you tried others as well so.. Give it a try, not necessarily an ssd, a sata 3 hdd should do just fine. just make sure you re-install everything from scratch, just in case some files got corrupted. Checking them with steam sometimes does not work.
  2. Unfortunately, I do not have any other test rig, nor any other cooler to test. I can assemble one of my old systems, a ryzen 1700x and a gigabyte gx370 gaming 5 to test the cooler but that's about it. I do feel the tubes getting worm on the AIO, and checking in ICUE everything looks normal, pump rpm, fans, ecc. Any other thing I can try? Unfortunately, I cannot I delidded it. I tested it before doing that it was fine. And yes, it has never been a good chip. It seems stable at 5.0 Ghz but it's not. It also needs more voltage than other people on the Internet just to maintain the same frequencies. You think it could be the chip going bad?
  3. Hello Jooehgp, have you tried disabling G-SYNC? Also, try checking your mouse polling rate. Raise it as high as it goes. Have you tried going into the NVIDIA control panel and setting the GPU to "Prefer maximum performance"? Try checking the game files, or re-installing the game from scratch.
  4. Hello guys, I'm having trouble troubleshooting a temperature issue on my system, i thought I might ask you guys for help since I've run out of options. My system specs i7-8700k , 1.335v 4.9 ghz, delidded. Maximus X hero 32 gb 4x8 vengeance LED PRO 3200mhz @ 1.4v , overclocked from 3000mhz. Corsair h115i AIO, with 2 ML140 fans cooling it. corsair Crystal 570x, with 3 LL fans on the front and 1 LL 120mm fans at the back. At first my PC just kept freezing, so after investigating I found that the CPU was sitting at 100C. So I took it out, and since it's a delidded 8700k I reapplied liquid metal, reapplied thermal paste, and carefully put everything back together. I did not glue the IHS back in, I just let it be "free". My problem is that despite doing this my CPU still hits 85-90 C under load. As soon as it hits 90C windows just crashes with the error "WHEA_hardware_incorrectable_error" I tested the CPU to be perfectly stable at 4.9 Ghz and 1.325v and at the time it never went past 74-75C under load. What I did: checked the AIO pump, fans. I put some thermal probes in the case to check for re-circulating air, or the intake fans sucking in hot air but it's not the case. (intake at 20C-21, out measured at the aio RAD at 30-40 sometimes 45 C) The cpu is installed properly, checked a number of times. I have a ftw3 1080 ti, so i checked to see if it was overheating but no, she's sitting at 74C under load. At stock default settings it does not crash but it never boosts any of its core past 4.5 ghz and it stays at an unreasonable 80-85 C under load. It looks very much like a pump failure but i can hear it runnnig and there are no abnormal noises, changes in RPM or anything that suggests a failure. Motherboard is 2 months new, as I had RMA'd the previous one when one of the ream slots died. The whole system has been formatted a week ago and before that, it never had any issues. Please any suggestions are welcome, as I had absolutely no clue what's going on. Many thanks
  5. I was running 4.4 at 1.3v to exclude that problem. But to be sure I did re-set everything to default in the bios. No change You're right! "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." So I downloaded DDU, removed everything and re-installed the latest drivers. I tested on all default on the bios, no overclock on anything. Unfortunately nothing changed. It still freezes with the same error in event viewer : Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
  6. The games stay in that loop for a little while or until force closed in task manager. In gta V strangely the radio keeps working normally..
  7. I will try right now, but yes it seems fully in and tighten up. yes, windows works just fine. I can access task manager and everything else.
  8. Hello guys, I've been having this issue lately, where all my games are crashing after anywhere between 2 to 20 min of gaming. When the crash occurs, it's like it's stuck in a loop, with the latest sound produced just repeating over and over and freezed graphics. It's just the games, windows never crashed or had a BSOD. Crysis 2 & 3 are displaying this weird "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" error. Regarding this: on google someone suggested it could be a ram problem, so I ran Memtest64 for about 1h 30 min, or 130 cycles, and there was no error or crashes. The CPU & GPU both stay below 75 C. The GPU is running stock settings. I checked cables, reinstalled drivers, voltages, usage, ecc: nothing. My Cpu is a delidded 8700k. It runs at 5.0 Ghz @ 1.328v stable.I tried reducing the frequency and the voltage and it did not help. My specs: Maximus X Hero Corsair vengeance LPX ddr4-2666 16 gb. Running in dual channel, default XMP profile. EVGA Supernova G2 750 W. GTX 1080 ti SC2. Any idea on how to solve this or what it may be? Any help will be appreciated.
  9. If that my help, I followed Linus's Ryzen 7 overclocking guide, and it worked. Try it out. Well, from 2666 to 2933 I got some huge improvements in l1 cache (see screenshots), and minor improvements in Ram bandwidth and latency. What do you think Valkyrie, can i go further, or it's not worth trying? Also, despite all of this, my cinebench R15 benchmark and other remains the same. Why?
  10. In theory with Ryzen higher ram frequency should help, but as you said, it doesn't help much: for me the difference is not existent, between 2666 and 2933, despite the ram being faster and with lower latency on benchmarks. Strange though.
  11. I only increased the Vcore SOC value to 1.2 and the Vram termination voltage VTTDDR to half the memory voltage, a lot of people say it helps with memory overclock, the rest is all stock.
  12. So I have a Ryzen 7 system, and I have never been able to push my 2 x 2666 cl16 ddr4 sticks above 2666... it just didn't work. With the recent f22 bios update, though, I have them running at 2933 in dual channel no problem. I have even managed to lower the timings from 16-18-18-36 to 16-17-17-35 at 2933 Mhz. I achieved this by only increasing the voltage from 1.2 to 1.25. I can push them to 3000, and they run fine on everything, even games, but will not survive in memtest64. My question is: can I push them further, with looser timings and more voltage, without risking damage to it or the memory controller?
  13. What extensions do you have installed? Try going to options, advanced, and disable "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" May be an extension issue.
  14. Hello guy's, so as described, I have this issue with corsair link breaking for no apparent reason. After some time, without me doing anything, just stops, displaying just the background (see pictures below). I cannot control the fans or anything else. Stopping the process and restarting it does nothing. Any ideas on a possible fix? I also tried different versions, but nothing changes.
  15. sorry for the wrong section. i did analyze the dump files, and all seems to point to the wifi card driver. I reinstalled it countless times, and i the AP feature is supported. What i'm doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated. below one of the dump files. 120817-6968-01.dmp
