  1. hey so i used the offset at -0.100 and the funny thing is temps are still at 55C and the cpu runs at 1.4v at idle. This is baffling to me as im no computer guru and it makes little to no sense at all. I'll try tweeking power plans and see where that takes me.
  2. ill have to do that then. It's just weird because the temp just jumps around from 48C to 58C constantly.
  3. hey, just got my tomohawk and i assembled everything. had a go at few tests like prime95 and i checked the temps. Is it normal for the ryzen 7 3700x to run at 60C on idle? from what im seeing it keeps running at 4.2mhz at constant. That for me is pretty weird, i dont know if thats how amd works but i thought it would run at lower clocks, when theres nothing running. Could you possibly be able to help me with this.
  4. So either one works fine right? If anything I'll just set the ram for lower MHz. I'll order the b450 tomohawk in that case.
  5. Can they run the ram at 3600mhz? I'm really not that educated on this topic.
  6. Well I bought everything besides the motherboard, got the 3600mhz cl16 just need to pair it now with something that will run it.
  7. Does the x470 have the flashback, I don't have a spare amd cpu to run the bios update. I'm starting to lean towards the x570 because it's starting to become a hastle ?. Also I need to order my board today as it has to come tomorrow.
  8. So the question is what board do I get, I need to run 3600mhz and I need flashback as I don't have a spare amd cpu.
  9. So I guess you'd suggest getting the x470 carbon? Or is there a better option? I have £180 to spend.
  10. So I guess 2 options are break bank on x570 or get a decent x470 that you can flash with bios update. Coming from Intel and upgrading is making this a hard decision for me and makes me worry about possible negative outcomes. I'd like to have something that just works and not too much fiddling around with.
  11. With the x470 I should specify that my max budget is £180, maybe getting a really good board like the Asus strix x470 f would be a good choice
  12. So to be safe you'd recommend the cheapest x570 boards?
  13. Hey everyone, I just ordered ryzen 7 3700x with corsair vengeance 3600mhz ram, to upgrade my old rig. I also got a new psu to replace my old one. The one thing I'm struggling with is a new motherboard that will support the speed of the ram. Do I have to spend big bank on a mobo or are there good cheap options out there. I could care less about PCIe 4.0 so the x570 is not of most importance to me. Cheers for your help peeps in advance.

  15. why is it that companies don't make ips panels with higher refresh rate? at least it's really hard to find a decently priced ips panel with 120hz or so.
  16. I'll see if there are any decent 120hz g-sync monitors for around £250-£300. I was looking at this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-27-inch-Monitor-FreeSync-ZeroFrame/dp/B078PP3V1J/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1521060580&sr=1-1&keywords=Acer%2BED273A&th=1 and was wondering if it's any decent, i know its freesync but maybe ill upgrade my gpu from gtx970 to a AMD card.
  17. is g-sync that important? i'd choose colors over g-sync any day I think.
  18. the shipping cost is $100.
  19. I guess i could borrow money but i'd have to see. Where can i see if it does ship to the UK.
  20. it ends tomorrow and there's no way i'll sell my screen before then....That's actually upsetting.
  21. Hey everyone, I've finally decided to get rid of my disgusting 32" Samsung TV Monitor which was too big for how close I was sitting away from. I'll be selling it for around £200 and I'm willing to up the budget to £300 for a decent monitor for gaming or watching videos. I have a laptop with a 120hz screen and I found the fluidity is really nice with higher refresh rate. I'm rambling too much so to make it quick, can someone give me suggestions on what to buy? I'd like decent colors and fluid gameplay with games like CS:Go, Fortnite, Black Desert Online and any upcoming games. I have a gtx970 to power the monitor. So to sum it up I want to buy a screen that is not bigger than 27" with nice colors and probably low ms(around 4ms) and if it's possible as high refresh rate as possible. Thanks everyone for your help! Kind Regards, Dave.
  22. the laptop just arrived today. Should i ran everything you said at the start? like factory resetting it? what else should i do. Cant seem to find decent guidelines on what to do with a brand new laptop.
  23. I'll go for the new one. I'm also getting a free accessory due to the fact that it's the 2nd unit that isn't working as it was supposed to. Hopefully the 3rd one will work perfectly and if it doesn't i better get a great accessory bundle again from them.
  24. hey dude, my unit has a problem with the fan. i have two options from the manufacturer and those are a repair of the same unit or a brand new one. Do you think it would be smarter to get a new one?
