  1. I'm going to push for him to lay down a few more $$ for something a bit more future proof. https://www.newegg.com/asus-rog-strix-gl10dh-nh764/p/N82E16883221574?Item=N82E16883221574&quicklink=true
  2. This is my current front runner for what he is looking for. https://www.newegg.com/asus-ga15dh-bs562/p/N82E16883221608 Reputable brand - check Price - Check I'd have him order an extra stick of ram and he could upgrade his graphics card later. The 1660 should run marbles and fall guys without issue.
  3. Preaching to the choir here. Like I said he seems adamant about a pre built. So I'm trying to help find one that is atleast halfway decent.
  4. Never said I want to buy one for him. Being an IT guy I offered up to help him decide on a pc.
  5. Morning From the Central US. A streamer I follow is looking for a pc. I get the impression from him he wants to go the prebuilt route for warranty reasons and his own piece of mind. Building his own is not his cup of tea. I'd offer to build and ship it to him but he doesn't know me that well and I don't want to give him that anxiety. I'm not a prebuilt guy so I'm have a hard time recommending any specific prebuilt for him. Any recommendations on prebuilt gaming pc's? He streams Marbles on Stream and Fall Guys for the most part. Thank you in advance.
  6. Ok I've got a business I've been supporting from day 1. The are in Marketing. It started as 2 people and has exploded to 5 with a few more to be added. When I say exploded it happened fast. We have them setup currently on a wd raided nas (6tb useable) the space is still fine for now as they are offloading old projects to cold storage when they are officially done. However with more and more people using the nas it has shown itself to be unreliable in some cases where they are attempting to transfer large video files and getting disconnected during transfer, and when everyone is using it it doesn't do a good job of balancing the traffic. They are still a small business and every penny counts. I've thought about building an inexpensive freenas system for them with a mirrored raid of some wd red or enterprise drives. While build it yourself is great for my projects I would rather stick to a warrantied off the shelf product in case of failure. They have offsite backup currently being ran by one of the computers mapped to the network drive. I know there are people here who have gone through this and I'm looking for the answers that come with experience. Thank you in advance!

  8. http://www.dummies.com/computers/operating-systems/windows-10/how-to-use-event-viewer-in-windows-10/ @Knightslugger it's not the be all end all but it can certainly shed some light and send you in the correct direction.
  9. Have you checked your system logs for any critical errors? That is the first place to start.
  10. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-m65-fps-laser-gaming-mouse-gunmetal-black-ww-refurbished I love this mouse.
  11. If I were buying, with the motherboard having 2 usb ports down, it would make me think it's on it's way out. I'd probably give about 275 max for it.
  12. Being realistic to form and function, I'm honestly considering the Thermaltake x9 stackable to put my main rig on the bottom and my new server build in the top. The price is what kills me: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Stackable-Certified-Computer-CA-1D8-00F6WN-00/dp/B00XCA86OM/ref=pd_ybh_a_19?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=02R637BGBCHQWDG7F3GQ
  13. I'm really looking for someone who has purchased B-stock so I can know I we talking huge dents in the covers or? I have no doubt that EVGA will follow through with their warranty I've warrantied one card with them in the past and they were legends about it.
  14. Let me start with this link. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-6286-RX Has anyone purchased from the EVGA B-stock lot and what has your experience been.
