Rog strix z390-e gaming That's the bottom of the cpu...the photos don't look so bad and there was TIM everywhere on the 24 pin header on the heatsinks on random chips.

So I bought a Mobo and CPU... Sight unseen... I know I know not wise but so far I have had luck and it was a good price and i took photos after cleaning a bit but this thing was plastered in TIM. Here is what I'm working on.... I found more TIM in the DDR4 sockets Photo doesn't do it justice will show more photos when done

Alright so my question is simple yet complex.... I was wondering if it is possible to run my new EKWB RGB Vector block if I do not have a built in RGB header on my motherboard.... I am not interested in turning it unicorn fart party mode I am only interested in having it glow white maybe some other color later, i dont care about sync or something else. Can I make my own controller or get something stupid cheap like those little crappy ones that the old rgb strips run off of? many thanks!

But is he really an idiot? I do not think the point of this was for a silent PC or even a practical one.... for a person that most likely watches the LTT videos I do not think you step out of the comfort zone.... however that is where i live. I dont really do my mad experiments with new hardware i do it with free gear I have obtained and I think I have made things much louder than this. The fact that most prototypes are big and loud is a given.... then we tinker and make smaller quieter faster things.

update bios.... something i dont recommend lightly but it may solve some issues i know MSI 570 boards had weird issues with them... also try replugging your EPS cables (the secondary power to the CPU/mobo)... this has only been the issue on 1 build i have had.
