  1. Yea... I tried to and tried to not touch the blades... Still hurt a little.
  2. Unplugged BOTH front fans and STILL get a steady buzz. If it's the bottom one then I'm never, EVER buying those fans again.... Lasted about 3 months and now this.
  3. I think I've found the problem. Best I can tell, it IS the fans... Top fan in particular. Thing is, with this case, you have to take a lot apart to get to som of the fans like the bottom one plus, I just replaced the fans a few months back. So yea, thanks for the help but I'm probably going to go ahead and change cases.
  4. Yea, it is constant and so is the buzzing sound. Hmm... Maybe I have too many fans going then? They're going pretty much full blast as they are not PWM sadly. The3 fans I put in are Corsai's SP 120 RGB 3-pack fans that has the RGB controller... I might run some experiments tomorrow and try unplugging fans and see what happens there.
  5. It is and I agree with DeadEyePsycho, don't bother. If you already have a Polaris card, wait for Vega... The 580 is more for those who are still on older platforms like the 200 and 300 series.
  6. I think it's a Hard Drive issue but not sure. I think it's going to be the older 1 TB hard drive I reused from a previous Prebuilt PC (HP computer) so the drive was already about 2 years old. It started recently (like just yesterday recently) I try to ignore it but I think I've developed the same PCD that many system builders get. OR it could be the fact that I very stupidly put the bottom front fan as an exhaust instead of intake. So the front top fan and the fan on the bottom of the case are intake and the back case fan and bottom front fan are acting as exhaust. Thing is, they've been like that a while now with no issues but it may have just taken this long to have an issue. I've also observed that some vibration is occurring as I can feel the windowed side panel vibrating when I touch it. When I would push down on the drive cage, the buzz would stop which is what leads me to believe it's a bad drive but I could be wrong so I wanted to seek advice from those more learned than I on what's going on and how to proceed in fixing the problem. Oh, I also have an aging graphics card I really want to upgrade as well.... but I doubt it's the culprit. Graphics card is the old R9 280 3G OC from Sapphire and Storage Drives are: Samsung EVO 840 250 GB SSD (Boot drive) Secondaries are a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda drive and a WD 2 TB drive. I thinks it's a WD Blue drive but can't remember for certain.I'm betting it's the Seagate drive as it's the oldest and it's a cheapo drive (It's from an HP computer, of course it's cheapo) The GPU I want to get is the Gigabyte Aorus 580 8gb. The one that has an O.C. mode of 1439MHz and that I'm betting will do at least 1450 or more. So yea, I don't have the funds for both sadly so it's either the GPU which is what I really want to do or the Hard Drive... OR case... I get the feeling the case isn't as strong as it should be for a Full Tower Case. Which is the NZXT Source 530. It has gotten a few dents and dings over the 2 years that I've had it with a slight dent in the top and a big dent in the back as in the back fan area is bowed outward like it was from all the hot air or something.
  7. True, very true. and I'm not turned off to buying Intel as I care more about performance than Fan-Boy shenanigans. So yea, if when the other Ryzen chips come out, the performance is still lacking, then I'll consider jumping ship over to Intel. Probably something like Intel CPU with Nvidia or AMD GPU would make for a good mix. What's funny is I already have an Intel parts list ready to go if I ever wanted to go that route. It has an I5 6600K and Z170 motherboard. So yes, for everyone saying go Intel, I do have a backup plan! Link to it is here: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=23527689 Could probably push it up to an I7 but not entirely sure on that.
  8. WOW! Good thing I never tried that with mine, that's the exact processor I have now. It's a good CPU and all but runs pretty hot. I'm probably going to step down into the mid-range R5 models when they come out because I don't really do anything like streaming or content creation as I'm not really set up for it. Tho I really like that particular Motherboard and the placement of things like plenty of fan connectors and the location of the NVMe/M.2 slot. Plus the colors.
  9. Then I was right in my original thinking then. Thank you for confirming that. Any idea how long off we might be from the Ryzen 5 launch?
  10. I think the current ones are but the R5 CPUs should be more tiered for gaming. It'd be better than my current system which is an AM3/AM3+ system with an FX-8320, 8GB of DDR3 ram at 1866 and an R9 280 3GB OC card from Sapphire all on a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P motherboard.
  11. 1. Budget & Location Here are the parts I currently have picked out: Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero X370 CPU: RYZEN 7 1700X (A bit of a placeholder until the R 5 series comes out) Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666 Desktop Memory OS: Windows 10 (Retail USB version) CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 Everything else will either be bought this year or reused from the current rig. Total Price on Newegg is: $994.95 in US Dollars which is where I'm located at. Alabama to be even more precise. I'd like to spend between $800 and $900 if possible tho so I'm more than happy to change out things like the CPU which I'm planning to anyway for an R5 1600X. 2. Aim The aim of this rig will remain the same as my current one which is mostly gaming, web browsing and watching videos on YouTube. 3. Monitors Probably just stick to a single monitor setup for now which an Acer 23.5 "borderless" Monitor which runs at 1080p 60 FPS. 4. Peripherals Yup, I'll only need Windows 10 tho, everything else is covered 5. Why are you upgrading? Why? Just getting that RYZEN itch mostly. Really excited to be getting into PCI-Express 3.0. DDR4 Memory and NVMe drives. My only real question is this: Would a lowest end R7 CPU like the R7 1700 be better or worse for gaming than something like the R5 1600X?
  12. I see and I do believe the version of 8.1 I bought was the OEM version as it didn't come in the box but more of an envelope type of thing. So only retail copies carry over it seems.
  13. Yup, I'll make sure to get a new license when upgrading to RYZEN then. Thanks a bunch guys.
  14. Ah. That's what I was wanting to know so thanks for the info.
  15. I do. What I was asking was about the hardware side like if I were to upgrade to the new AMD stuff (which I plan to do at some point) will I need tto buy a new copy of Windows 10 or will it auto detect the new motherboard and CPU?
