haha really it's all the same cable? I didn't realize that. So the differences lie in what they're connected to then?
Thank you, I'm happy I can reuse my old cables and not have to wait to order a new one.
I just got a new 7200 rpm hard drive but realized I don't have an extra SATA III cable, However I do have an old SATA II cable.
I read a few places that for a 7200 rpm hard drive, a SATA III cable wouldn't be any faster than a SATA II cable.
So I'm wondering if I should wait until I can buy a new SATA III cable or if I should just use the SATA II cable?
Well I suppose she could always add a bluetooth usb later if she realized she wanted it. Bluetooth is so handy though for connecting portable speakers without wires!
Could you suggest an alternative with equal specs? Because I'd be willing to build it for her but I haven't been able to find a cheaper equivalent with 6th gen i5, 2TB HDD, 12 or 16GB ram, and includes the OS, mouse, keyboard, wifi, and buetooth.

My friend wants to buy this computer for video editing and playing Sims, and she asked me if it was a good deal.
Does anyone have any thoughts or can you suggest an alternative build for the same price?
Thanks
So if I buy a Windows 7 key, when I upgrade for free to Windows 10, does the windows 7 key automatically become a windows 10 key?
Sorry I'm still slightly confused about how this works. What if I need to reinstall the OS on a different hard drive because mine crashes? Will I be stuck with Windows 7 then?
I need to buy Windows 10 (or 7 or 8 and upgrade to 10) and I noticed some sites have significantly cheaper prices than others.
Is Softwaremart a safe site to buy from? https://www.softwaremart.ca/microsoft-windows
They seem to be one of the cheapest places to buy Windows. However they're not listed on pcpartpicker and I want to make sure they're legit before buying anything
I found Windows 7 Home Premium (new) for $85.99 https://www.softwaremart.ca/windows-7-home-premium-64-bit-download
Why would anyone buy Windows 10 right now then if they could get 7 or 8 for so much cheaper?
NCIX recommends I buy their shipping insurance, but Newegg doesn't seem to have shipping insurance. Some people say shipping insurance is a waste of money, and you can make claims through the postal service.
Do you buy shipping insurance for expensive computer components?
If I ever had to reinstall the operating system for some reason, say in a few years from now, would I lose the Windows 10 upgrade and go back to the windows 7 or 8 version that I paid for?
