  1. Hey guys, I've been having issues lately with my 6800k not talking any OCs. I put an OC on as I'd do normally, (which used to work) and f10. Then when I get back into windows and check with cpu-z, it doesn't stick, it just stays at 3.8ghz. I've disabled turbo boost and v-step up. It held a stable 4.3ghz for over a year at 1.35v. I don't know why this is happening. I've reset all settings to default a bunch and it still doesn't work. Any advice will be good. P.S. After I post this I will be clearing the CMOS just to make sure its not that.
  2. wth, it did it on LTT, i looked at all my extensions, ill kill them for a sec.
  3. So, I keep getting redirects and it's really annoying. Bitdefender is blocking a ton, but they keep coming, I consider myself a safe user but this came on for some reason. It stops for a bit when I re-install chrome but then comes back. Would this happen to chromium?
  4. More new info. Can base clock overclock. I turned the bclk to 115 and got my overclock back. this is a band-aid solution though.
  5. Ok, new details I can underclock under the max turbo. So if i set it to 3.5ghz it sticks but anything above turbo doesn't.
  6. Here's the cpu-z BTW. It's saying the range is up to 3.6 which is its turbo clock. but when I try and overclock, the ratio doesn't work and it stays at 36
  7. i got 4.4 stable at around 1.4 lol pretty high. tuned it to 4.3 at 1.35.
  8. Sure. It doesn't look like anything is indicating a sort of limiting.
  9. My I7 6800k randomly decided to limit its core ratio to 36 for no good reason. I can change it in bios, but it doesn't stick to the CPU. In balanced mode, it downclocks as usual, but under load goes to 3.6ghz. On high perf mode, it's 3.6 all the time. I used to have a 4.4ghz overclock on it and I've lost a decent amount of performance. Please help.
  10. So, I was rebuilding an AMD Athlon 64 PC and it shorted I think. Went up in a puff of white smoke from the motherboard. Is it possible that the PSU and GPU went also? I hope not.
  11. I am having ALL the issues with Asus Aura Software. So before, I had Aura working fine, but after a fresh install of W10 it has gone haywire. When I try and launch it, it says it has stopped working. The only way to get it to work is to reset windows and I am not doing that again. If it does work, It refuses to recognize the LEDs on the Motherboard and the RGB strip I have plugged in. Only the ones on the GPU. Please help. I have tried reinstalling many many times, multiple different versions, reinstalling windows, bios updates, bios resets, clearing cmos, and also the suggestions from a previous forum post on here for the same issue. PLEASE ASUS FIX YOUR CRACKED SOFTWARE!!! Update: The latest version of the software opens, but still doesnt detect RGB Strip and Mobo LEDs.
  12. If anything, get a 1080p 60hz panel and a 1060 6gb maybe.
  13. You're right. I forgot people still do that.
  14. Yeah, a 1050 isn't going to cut it for 144hz 1080p. I would say a 1070 or even a 1070ti is the BARE minimum for high refresh rate.
  15. This seems a little fishy. Something has to be wrong. It also makes my overclocked 6800k seem very obsolete. Send Video.
  16. My Strix 1080 does this with it's middle fan. It possibly is just active cooling for other parts of the GPU. Maybe not just the core.
  17. I usually play at either 1080p ultra or 4k high-ultra. Gotta get that magic 60fps man. GTX 1080 Strix.
