  1. I like windows 7 better. I think start menu is better. Also, the search bar is better. I always have an issue looking for something in Windows 10. 7 always finds what I am looking for. I hate a lot of the apps on the windows app store. A majority are bloatware, and the constant built-in apps that 10 has in the OS that breaks it if you remove them is rediculous. . .
  2. Ok, so; the power button/switch is proprietary. The motherboard pins need to be connected through the power button/switch because they all have power running through them to tell the motherboard that it is plugged in and working or else the system will not register a button press. I figured out that all I have to do is solder the red and black cables of any standard third party case to the red and black cables of the OEM power switch and then the switch will work like normal! All I have to do is put a rubber cover over the unused OEM power button and this computer is ready to go!
  3. Ok, I'll check this out. I might have to buy a multimeter. lol
  4. Hello everyone, The quick lowdown. I bought this motherboard with 8GBs of 1600mhz, an i7-3770, and a 1TB WD Black for $120. Then I was able to find a GTX 970 and an EVGA 600watt 80 plus power supply for $180. I only spent around $300 total for this build which was all of my spending money. so I do not have any extra cash to spare for this. I I'm trying to figure out the pin-outs for this motherboard. I uploaded pictures for the pinout and the cable of the OEM cable. OptiPlex 7010 Motherboard: 0KRc95 Service Tag: 36K8GX1 The OEM cable has a LED in the center of it connected to the orange and light blue cables. I'm trying to figure out which of the cables from the OEM cable do I need to splice with my case cables. Can someone lend me a hand?
  5. Hello everyone, I have been searching everywhere for an in-depth step-by-step tutorial for setting up a black ops 3 Zombie server. What I use is Steam, and I downloaded the MOD Tools, the game, the dedicated server program, and the remote console. There is this info for the server, but I am still a little confused: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=814090509 I can host a multiplayer map, but what I want to host is a zombie game. Can someone help me out on this? There really isn't anything online that I could find that was for BLOPS 3 for zombie server hosting. I appreciate all the help!
  6. That’s awesome! Im glad you have been able to enjoy it for so long.
  7. I haven't had any problems with burn-in with my plasma for the 3 years of constant use. Meaning I leave it on with pictures on the screen all the time without moving. I have picture retention, but that goes away in a few seconds of watching motion pictures. Also, what do you mean by "plasma was stupid even when it was being made"? If you literally mean Plasma tvs were pointless, then it seems to me like you don't know the benefits plasmas offer over most tvs even to this day. Yes they don't make them, but one of the reasons to that was cost and how hard they were to make. Still the biggest benefit on Plasmas is motion, so if you like watching things without blur then a plasma still has a place. Also, even with 4k, if you are sitting more than 8 feet away and are using and lcd-led tv, the color is no where compared to a plasma, the only thing it has on it is brightness. https://www.lifewire.com/oled-vs-plasma-3276234 http://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-oled-technology-flat-panels-general/2282922-oled-vs-plasma.html https://www.avforums.com/threads/panasonic-65vt60-plasma-vs-65-oled.2098433/ Yeah, I wish OLED were down in pricing, but they also need to take care of the motion problems in the cheap ones before I even consider getting one.
  8. I know you can turn it off. The issue with that is it’s suppose to reduce blurr. Not make it worse.
  9. Just curious if anyone out there still use their Plasmas as the main theater tv. I do and it never ceases to amaze me on how crappy some newer 4k led-lcd screens look still. I was at one of my friend's house over a month ago. He bought some Samsung 4K "120" motion flow tv. My gosh, I never saw so much motion blurr with the opera effect. No matter what setting I change it was terrible. I have never been satisfied by tvs at the moment when it comes to looking naturally smooth. PC monitors, on the other hand, have been crazy. I feel like if I want to replace my plasma, I'm going to need to drop like 5000 to come close to an acceptable compromise. I could just also be bias as hell. lol
  10. If we're talking about a laptop then I would always say IPS. You would tend to be sitting with the laptop at different table heights, or the screen at different angle, or if you stand at a desk etc, you'll be at different angles more often. For a Monitor, to me, it depends. I have a 28" Samsung 4K TN panel and it looks great, I almost always sit at the same height and never move around that much to where the color changes. If you can afford the IPS panel, go for it, but if you have a strict budget, the TN isn't a bad choice. The response time isn't that huge unless you are talking about playing in tournaments where you need that twitching speed in an FPS.
  11. So I was looking at electronics on this app called "Letgo" and came across this little gem from some guy in Chicago for $50 flat. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, well, a small scratch on the back housing but that's it. He said he was moving out of Illinois and selling a whole bunch of stuff. I thought it was too good to be true. I asked if I could test it out and he said yes. I grabbed my wife, and we jumped in the car to go to chi-town. I got there and still felt really suspicious. Why is this guy selling a $300 display for only $50? It had to have some problems. So I met the guy, pulled out my laptop and tested it right in the lobby of the condo building, plugged right into an outlet. It powered up, we watched some videos for roughly 10 minutes and nothing happened. I took the chance and bought it. It's been going 5 months strong now. One of the best buys I ever had. lol Monitor I have linked below. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-28-U28E510D-Ultra-Monitor/dp/B01IPY5P0M
  12. One of the things that I was told from a gas station owner is that the stores have to pay more for supporting a CC with a chip to charge it. So where I'm at in the US, there are lots of pos systems that owners put a piece of plastic in the slot saying no chip, slide only. I really wish MST was a standard for cell phones though.
  13. I just Started to use the StoCard app to store all my cards that I don't use very often. Also for almost any card that has a barcode on it that isn't supported by an official app. Library cards, blood drive registry cards, etc. . So far, almost everything I use is a big brand which makes it easy for me to use Apple wallet/ Apple pay. What I'm really jealous of is the MTS feature that the high end Samsung phones have. I would love to be able to use that!
