    Explain Adaptive Voltage

Basicly using the offset with the -(minus) not the +, "controls" the max voltage for my pc.
  2. What is IA Voltage in hwmonitor and does it matter. Mine says 3.2 volts

Volts go over what i've set it to?

Dude thanks a lot, it worked! I just changed it to - and put the offset to 0.02 and it went down from 1.169 to 1.144, so thanks! But there is one thing I'm wondering now and that is what is the IA under voltages as I see that is up to 3.2. I know that you're supposed to read voltages off VID in hwmonitor, but still.

Volts go over what i've set it to?

Will try that now, thanks for the tip

Volts go over what i've set it to?

I thought that the turbo max meant something which it does not it seems., which is where i put the 1,1v. There seems like there is not a way to control the "max" voltage as you do with manual settings. Also the offset is at its lowest 0.001

    Explain Adaptive Voltage

Well when playing bf3 it's at a constant 1.169, and i want it to be lower. What is the point of knowing if your system is stable with that "specific" amount of voltage, and you can't even set that as a max in adaptive mode? The offset seems like it doesn't do anything.

Volts go over what i've set it to?

How do i stick the voltage down? as it seems the turbo max setting don't really matter, and there is no way to make it go down?

    Explain Adaptive Voltage

I have found the voltage i need. I've tested with 1,1 volts with manual settings in aida 64 for 20 minutes. I dont know if i have load line calibration on, should i turn it off in that case and where do i find it? Also is there a way to set my voltage to 1,1 as its max, because i dont see the reason why you should find out if your system is stable or not on 1,1 volts if you cant make that your "max" voltage if you know what I mean.

    Explain Adaptive Voltage

Tried it and for the first time stability testing with adaptive voltage in aida 64, it went up to 1.242, why does this happen?

    Explain Adaptive Voltage

I will try this now, but with adaptive voltage you can't set a "max" voltage that your cpu will not go over? It just does whatever it wants?

    Explain Adaptive Voltage

I have an i7 4770k cpu, and a z87 gryphon motherboard. When I set my frequency at 4ghz with 1,1 voltage (at manual) it's stable with aida for 20 minutes(Just how long i've tested it) so therefore I'm going to use that voltage as my "max"). But I can't get it to work with the adaptive voltage, probably because I dont understand how to use it and what the settings really mean. When using adaptive voltage i set my turbo max to 1,1 volts, and i set the offset for 0.001(so the max would be 1,101 volts) and i do the same for the cache voltage. When in windows it goes up to 1,169 in the beginning and after a while it goes down, to low volts like around 0.7 but it can go up sometimes and it will stay at 1,169 I believe when playing games like BF3. It's like it completely ignores the numbers that i've set in. I've even tried putting 1.050 and it still goes to 1.169 for some reason. And when I put the offset for 0.05 it goes over 1.2 i believe it actually gets at 1.219 and thats a precise 0.050 extra for 1.169, so there must be a connection. Also there are some numbers just to the left for where you choose what mode you want to use for controlling the volts (auto, manual, offset and adaptive) and these numbers cannot be changed, it seems. What do they mean? I've watched guides for overclocking, but not for my specific mobo the asus GRYPHON z87 motherboard, which means the settings are very similiar but not 100%. Does anybody know how to fix this issue of the voltage going over what i've set it to with ADAPTIVE mode, when it stays the same when using manual?

Volts go over what i've set it to?

So that means that I should put it on lets say 1,050?

Volts go over what i've set it to?

It's at its lowest still not working.

    Constant Frequency speed

Yep, and changing them is not going to solve my problem that is described in my other thread about voltages going over what i've set them to?
  15. I'm trying to overclock and my system was stable after 10 mins with aida 64 at 1,1 volts (4ghz) at manual with intel speedstep and the cpu c state off. I have set my volts to adaptive mode with 1,1 volts and .005 offset or something. And I turned on the intel speedthing and the c state on When I just started my computer and if for an example I open my web browser or something it automatically went up to 1,169, and then went back down again which I believe is normal. But when I started playing bf3 it was constant at 1,169 which is not what I've "Allowed" it to be at in my bios. Should I disable the intel speedstep or the c state, or anything else? Thanks!
