  1. Fortunately and unfortunately I'm from South Africa, most of the stores here go by "You opened/used it, you keep it". I do have another gaming machine I could use, specifically the power supply and see if that gets rid of my problem. It's a very barebones system (old gaming hardware) which really just runs my Plex, so I hope I have all the PSU cables to power my gaming setup. It has a different motherboard chipset, so can't test my motherboard. I could also test my RAM, as both systems use DDR4.
  2. I also have a feeling it could be bad power, which is why I thought of bypassing my UPS system this evening and seeing if that changes anything. I think the most mind blowing part of it all is that I'll have my USB disconnect/reconnect issue, restart my machine and it runs perfectly for the rest of the day. So, it seems unrelated to 'power' issues, but I'm willing to try anything at this stage. My PSU is fairly decent, although its 8 years old now. I'm not sure if PSU's degrade over time, or if replacing it would solve my problem. As mentioned in my original post, I'm so tired of trying to solve this, I am more then happy to throw money at it to fix it. I just don't want to fork out cash to hope that I replaced the correct part. Power plan is set to high performance. Also disabled any power saving options on USB ports (USB selective suspend setting: disabled).
  3. Thought I'd mention, since the same issue has been spread across many months. My previous Windows 11 format (2 weeks ago or so), I don't get the issue for a few days after the format, and then it starts daily. I'm not sure if that narrows down what the issue could be, but thought it might be relevant. My PC runs off a glorified UPS, which uses lead batteries (the lead batteries are about 2 years old now, so have seen some proper wear and tear). I think I might bypass my UPS this evening, incase its providing insufficient or dodgy power. Will test tonight/tomorrow night and report back. Thank you, I've downloaded Process Hacker on my work machine. I can't seem to find or work out how this program helped you see that your mouse wasn't getting enough power. Where did you look within the program to see this?
  4. Done some fair Googling to resolve my issue and everything I've found doesn't describe my issue exactly or their solutions don't solve my PC's problem. Quite a long post, although I think I've outlined my issue and things I've tried quite well to hopefully make it easier for someone to locate the issue. My issue: Turn on my gaming PC for the first time in the day, about 5-10 minutes into using my machine it'll disconnect all USB ports and reconnect them. I cannot quite put my finger on what I'm doing to provoke this but it seems to happen when I am listening to Spotify and in a game (or in AnyDesk, remoting to another PC). This happens every day. Apart from my USB ports disconnecting, my headphones (HD560S - connect via a FiiO E10K *USB AMP/DAC) also produce deafening static feedback for a few seconds until all my USB devices are able to reconnect. Once all my devices reconnect, my monitor occasionally defaults to 60Hz. So, I restart my machine (set monitor to 144Hz) and it runs flawlessly for the rest of the day. I have a sneaky suspicion that my HD560S headphones, motherboard and/or RAM are at fault, but I have no way to fully confirm this. Been working from home for the past year or so, and have invested quite a lot of money into my gaming setup which is why its difficult to pin point at which point it started happening and what caused it to start happening (thinking along the lines that I purchased something faulty at some stage).. OS: The above issue happened on a Windows 10 Pro (64bit) OS, I reformatted and the issue persisted. Formatted to Windows 11 Pro (64bit) and the issues still persisted, formatted again (Windows 11 again) and still the issue persists. All versions of Windows were/are up to date (incl. optional updates). System specs: Intel 12700K, Asus RTX 3080 TUF, H150i Pro XT, GSkill 32GB TridentZ 3600-CL-16 (F4-3600C16D-32GTZRC), Asus Z690 Plus D4 (90MB18U0-M0EAY0), Corsair AX1200i (purchased just over 8 years ago), Dell S2721DGFA, LG 27UL500-W, Sennheiser HD560S, FiiO E10K AMP/DAC and the Shure MV7 mic. BIOS versions: This issue has persisted on various BIOS versions, I updated my BIOS on Friday last week to the latest version available (1601). Errors: Unfortunately I don't get any actual errors, no BSOD's, nothing. I've enabled minidump (small memory dump 256 GB) although I think minidumps are only produced when you have an actual BSOD? The fact that I don't get any actual errors is why I'm struggling to fix this issue. I've been struggling with this for a number of months now and ready to throw money at it to fix it, but its not so simple if I don't know what to replace. My other primary concern is that my CPU/RAM/MOBO are still within warranty. I could warranty my motherboard for example but if the supplier/manufacturer can't replicate my issue, then they'd obviously won't replace it. Windows event viewer does show system errors (about 3 errors), none of them are descriptive to my issue and Google'able (unfortunately don't have screenshots of these, but can add them). I've tried a number of things to fix this - list below (Windows reformats and/or Windows upgrades to Win11 are mixed in there, unfortunately didn't note the order): - Removed Audient EVO 4 (USB AMP/DAC that I used with my headphones and MV7 mic). - Removed TP Link USB hub. - Uninstalled Audient EVO 4 software/drivers. - Stress tested GPU (superposition). - Stress tested CPU (OCCT). - Stress tested RAM - 1 cycle, no errors (TestMem5). - Ran userbenchmark (perfect scores for all hardware). - Ran Windows Memeory Diagnostic (no errors). - Asus Armoury Crate driver update check (updated chipset drivers). - Uninstalled all RAM software (RGB). - Disabled HAGs (Windows 11). - Reset BIOS back to default (except kept XMP & resizable bar enabled). - Windows Update, up to date (incl optional updates). - Updated to Realtek Audio Drivers - V6.0.9285.1 - Uninstalled Aura service / Aura lighting effect add-on x64 / Aura lighting effect add-on / Armoury Crate Lite Service / Armoury Crate Lite - Ran Disk Cleanup. - Reset CMOS. - Swap out Corsair K65 with KeyChron K8 keyboard. - Removed Elgato Stream Deck. - Unplug front panel USB IO (case). - Uninstalled iCue & Stream Deck Software. - Changed headphones 96K to 48K also tried default settings. - Updated all USB controllers in device manager. - Disabled any power saving options on USB ports (USB selective suspend setting: disabled) - Disabled XMP. - Took my entire PC apart, part for part and rebuilt it. - Removed FiiO E10K (USB AMP/DAC).
  5. Cool. Will give userbenchmark a go this evening. I was actually looking for some thing like that, where I can compare the performance of my hardware to people with the same hardware. (For free).
  6. Hey guys, Not having a major issue, but since I recently bought my hardware for my machine (complete new build). I'd like to ensure everything is running correctly. Currently in Battlefield 5 I'm getting roughly 90 FPS in game, this is about the same on all maps. All settings on low/off, and @ 1920 x 1080P - 240Hz. *My PC spec's can be seen in my signature I was watching a few Twitch livestreams last night and noticed that some of the guys were getting really good FPS. Much more then myself, and way better averages. The one streamer I was watching has an 8700K, and a down clocked 1070 (he said his is faulty - hence the down clock). He was getting 150 on average, it seemed like he limited it to there, because it didn't go higher then 150 FPS, and the lowest I saw it dip to was 120. I did monitor my temps last night after playing for quite a while, and noticed my CPU and GPU (can't remember the values exactly), they were around 65C max. Unfortunately didn't note my utilization percentage for each (will check that this evening). Not entirely sure if it would make a difference, but I haven't overclocked, XMP is diabled. The only change I've made is put my power limit and temp limit to their max for my GPU. Was looking at Guru3D graphics card bench marks (for BF5), noticed that they benched on Ultra settings (on 1080P) and were getting an average of 97 FPS for a 1070 Ti. Guru3D did this bench mark in a single player war stories mission - however Jayztwocents did mention in one of his reviews that he got better FPS in multiplayer then he did in single player. What process of elimination can you guys recommend I do, to see if there is some thing wrong, or some thing not performing correctly? PS.. A mate of mine asked me why am I worrying about FPS if my current FPS is pretty decent as it is. I told him its like owning a Ferrari, all my mates have the same Ferrari, they're all maxing out at 300KMPH and I am maxing out at 250KMPH. ?
  7. That's awesome. Good job on the thread. Your thread answers all my questions, thank you. The fact that the fan has more than one connector (one for the fan and one for the RGB lightning, makes everything else make more sense now). Looks like I will need that Commander Pro. Thanks again.
  8. Hoping you guys can help me, tried Google'ing this but haven't really gotten the answer I am looking for, maybe because it is quite specific as well. *I haven't got any of the parts yet, still in the add to cart phase. So it's quite hard to visualize the setup, and have never used any of these products before. Basically I want to hook-up 6 x ML120 RGB PRO's to my build. I'd like to be able to control the RGB lightning on all fans, and control each fans speed individually. - 4 x ML120's will be used as case fans, and 2 x ML120's will be used on my CPU cooler. - The ML120 - 3 fan pack comes with one 6 port fan hub (which I've read is just a glorified fan hub) and one Lighting Node Pro LED controller. (I've got 2 sets of the 3 fan pack). How will they be hooked up to my mother board and what hubs/fan controllers do I need to do this? I see on the Lighting Node Pro LED controller, it only has 2 ports, unless I am missing some thing. How will it work with 3 fans? I've seen you get the Corsair Commander Pro, but not sure how that works in-conjunction with the Lighting Node Pro LED controller(s)... I apologize if this is a noobie question ?
  9. Awesome. Thanks for clarifying that.
  10. I've read over your post not so long ago. So do you think I get the best performance from my headset via the DGX? Due to where I live, I don't have many other options - So unfortunately cannot consider anything in your recommended lists
  11. Hey guys, Recently bought myself the Asus Xonar DGX, this is the first sound card I have ever owned so while I am happy with it, I have nothing to compare it to so I am not sure how good it really is. I have the DGX paired with my Sennheiser Game Zero's, I play competitive CSGO so good audio in terms of hearing footsteps etc is extremely vital. I noticed that Asus recently release the Strix SOAR / PRO / DLX and I am curious as to whether these will provide me with any benefits in my game play? I do listen to music, however this isn't really a priority - games (directional audio) are... Hope you guys can help me. Cheers, Eddyyz
  12. Would I benefit from having a sound card at all? Even if its a different one?
  13. Hey guys, I've been through quite a few threads about what sound card is best, and whether I should get one or not... There are a million different opinions (that's the internet I guess)... I recently bought myself the G4ME ZERO's (150 Ohms version) and have been running them off my motherboard, I've never heard them through a dedicated sound card before so I don't know their full potential, but I do obviously want to use them at their full potential. I've read here and there that some mother boards perform well enough to make buying a sound card pointless, so here is my mobo. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X79A-GD65-8D.html#hero-overview A friend of mine is selling his "ASUS Xonar Essence STX" for a really good price, what I want to know is, will I benefit from a sound card like this with my current setup? Cheers, eddyyz
  14. I did try other USB ports and they didn't seem to work either (on the actual mobo, and on the front USB ports). Yes have used the USB hub before with no problems, haven't used it since yesterday as I am scared it might stuff up some thing else.
  15. Hey guys, Sorry its a long post, but it does reduce potential questions A few months ago I won an X51 at a local LAN/Competition - Didn't buy, don't judge Anyways, been using the PC mostly for downloading and streaming every now and then on my living room tv. Everything on the PC ran smoothly, I added a solid state to the X51 and installed my OS onto it. Used it for a month or two after that with no problems at all. I decided yesterday to move the PC to my bedroom as I can just use it for the same reasons there. I set it up pretty much exactly the same, except this time I plugged in a USB hub (externally powered) so that I can get my wireless mouse and keyboard better connectivity so this was the only difference between it being downstairs and in my room. And then I powered it on... I turned the PC on and walked away, to pack an HDMI cable away. I came back 5 seconds later and the screen was artifacting so I thought I might have not plugged the monitor in correctly. Turned everything off and made sure all the connections were in correctly. Turned it back on and that fixed it. Then I started to smell a burning smell, coming out of the X51. I turned it off immediately not wanting to cause a fire etc. I then turned it on 5 minutes later as I was not 100% sure if it was the PC or not. The PC seems to work, but an error pops up saying "error: no usb kb input device. Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility." Having tried a wireless and wired keyboard/mouse both do not pickup, and I know they all do work. My thoughts are I killed my USB ports but I have no idea. I can confirm that the burning smell was coming out of the X51. If anyone knows what I should do please let me know! Cheers.
