  1. In my experience with my VG259QM you have to see if it supports HDR over Displayport if that's what you're using. The VG259QM requires HDMI for HDR. Then leave the settings in windows and let apps/games enable it by enabling it in the respective game's settings. My knowledge of HDR is minimal but this is what worked for me after days of researching. And as others mention with a typical brightness of 350 cd/m² it's honestly not a HDR monitor, it's just for marketing mostly, the experience is terrible and as some say going from HDR 400 to HDR 1000 in hdr is like coparing a 3060 to a 3080ti
  2. Wait so you're saying just a random ass polarizing film will work? How interesting, thank you!
  3. Hey, i want to do some projects with some old monitors i have and with the modification of removing the polarizing filter is essential. though i was curious if one could buy a "generic" polarizing filter and use that instead or if the ones that come with the panels are made specifically for the monitor they came with in any way. I was hoping to buy some polarizing filters off of aliexpress perhaps.
  4. Genious. Hope not but i will use my second one and do some testing. Thanks for the tip!
  5. Hey, i am having an issue with my GTX 1060 i think. Once in a while the main monitor (Not the 10 Year old one on the left Lmao) Turns black for a few seconds while gaming. No dissconnect sound, no other weird thing going on. Simply black screen. It was rarer a month ago but now it happens more frequently. Any ideas? I really hope it's not dying :S
  6. Today I threw it in my main rig which I delayed because it's an ITX build but it works without crashes and errors so far with 3 hours of testing... I finally got some artifacts, it's again way better but nope. I also put my main (GTX 1060 6gb) Into the other machine with no issues. What could this be? Any idea @Middcore
  7. No luck there. I have some tests lined up though. I've tried 2 different PSU's and I will try it in a completely new system with a fresh windows install and a third PSU. And lastly I will clean the heck out of it, make sure everything is clear. If none of that helps I'm out of ideas as of now.
  8. Hey, i completely forgot I posted as I don't do this often haha. Well happily i have good news. I used a multimeter and the peripheral cables (Sata and Molex) Are the same. I have a mix of AX1200i original cables, type 4 and HX1000 80+ Standard (Yes sorry for not clarifying that properly!) and they seem all interchangable. However the HX1000 does have 6+2 pin PCI only as the Type 4 and AX1200i has 2x 6+2 pin PCI cables. so these gave me a 2second headache and i decided to not deal with those as i don't need them either. I will happily do other multimeter tests if anyone wants. I'm dealing with other projects atm among a Pi project and a half dead 7970. But if anyone asks I'll do it asap
  9. Yes i forgot to mention that. they look prestine and i cleaned them too. And now it's no longer sensitive to touch. I'm going to put it back into the top slot and see what happens right now.
  10. Hey, this morning i got a 7970 Matrix platinum in the mail for 20Euro. It was supposedly supposed to work but have some physical issues. It came with the fan shroud separated and only one original fan with a snipped wire. however with 2 80mm fans boshed onto the heatsink. I'll walk trough the process as i know i did some mistakes like not thoroughly cleaning the die the first time around. First of all i tested it as is in sea of thieves and oh my god 99c and thermal throttling very quickly. So i promptly turned off the system, took it apart and saw the worst thermal paste i've ever seen, It was silverish with a very glossy particle look. i thought it had to be thermally conductive and probably some cheap stuff from ebay etc. I quick cleaned it leaving some on the sides as it was incredibly hard to clean off properly without residue sticking somewhere. Changed the paste and rebooted to 45C under heavy load jippi but some weird screen blink every boot, but that's where the artifacts and driver crash started. I tested Time spy, Fire strike, sea of thieves and all had the same artifact-driver crash issue. I took it out to clean a second time with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol and got most of the small particles out. Reseat, reboot and issue is less prevalent! But still there. Darn it, during my testing i noticed the card was very sensitive to touch to get artifacts so i changed pci slot with even one step further of stable. Then as a last resort i unscrewed the back panel PCI Screws laid the pc on its side and now it's EVEN better?!?! It can now do Time spy, Fire strike, Fire strike extreme, sea of thieves and AIDA64 Extreme full system stress test without issues. I even tried slight overclocking to see if i could bust it but it didn't! I even moved the lose little thing in it's pci slot without it having any issues. But, sadly OCCT produced many errors ending in artifacts then driver crash. So that is where I am at now. I am tempted to take it apart again and give it a bath in isopropyl alcohol. Any suggestions on next steps? I would've given up if it weren't for the drastic changes. In the beginning 99C throttling to artifacts and crashes to now barely any crashes and artifacts. Every step I've taken has made the issue better so far.
  11. Hey, i've got both a AX1200i and the old HX1000 PSU's. but i'm missing sata and molex cables for the HX1000. Now, the corsair cable compatibility chart shows the HX1000 has its own cables only but the cables from my AX1200i fits. So now i'm looking for a pinout chart of some sort to make sure i wont fry anything. Any ideas on where to find? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
  12. I am in the looking for a laptop and i've narrowed it down a little here https://www.prisjakt.no/category.php?k=s353008950&catId=353 (There are 3 pages) (clicking on "Filter" *Middle top ish. Reveals the filters i've used to the left) Now i have no idea which one to choose, which one has a decent web cam etc.It will be used for office/webcam studying, movies and stuff like that. No editing or gaming. Any ideas? Budget is 10000NOK which is filtered on the link.
  13. Exactly what i originally wanted. Though i have a budget of about 200-250$ and no way of testing any other chair. I liked the feel of the Arozzi, and i completely hated the other 3 they had on floor in that one store where i could test chairs. I originally wanted to avoid the gaming racing chair but i don't want to buy something and not like it 10 times and pay shipping to return on all of them. which is at least 20$+ each return.
  14. There is a sale on both, I like the features etc more on the DXRacer. The only thing is that I have only tried and liked the seat of the Arozzi which has a foam density of 40-45kg/m3. While the DXRacer have 50kg/m3. I am afraid the DXRacer will be much firmer. People say they feel the difference between the Racing and king series which is only 4kg/m3 higher. I'm thin AF, and tall. Any experience with these numbers or chairs in practice anyone? I generally have little experience with chairs, mine is 9 years old and literally breaking my body atm. I don't have much money and these two chairs are on sale for ish the same price. and the only chair i can physically test was the Arozzi Verona Pro V2 and some other ADX chairs which felt literal shit to sit in ime, i would like some uhm, non-gaming/racing thing chair but as long as its comfortable and wont destroy me i'm fine. I have actually ordered both, and i'll have to call up Monday morning and cancel one of them, but i can't decide which one. :3 All replies are appreciated!
