  1. Hello Linus Tech Tips fellow(s) that view this... I'm having a bit of trouble... So I finally finished re installing windows for the 4th time after my registry backup corrupted and all my programs were not usable, and I was thinking now that i've fixed most of those problems might as well get everything else out of the way. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard with freshly installed windows 7 ultimate. I don't think other specs are necessary (unless you ask for them)... My problem is that when i boot, it hangs at splash screen with "b4" on the dr debug for about 30 seconds, which is about 30 seconds longer than i'd like to spend. The only devices plugged into my usb ports are my keyboard and my mouse. I tried moving the keyboard and the mouse to the "dedicated" keyboard and mouse ports (I guess thats what they're called), and it doesn't hang at splash but when I get into windows my mouse immediately stops working. I have traced the problem back to only my mouse (as of now) and have tried disabling legacy support and other tricks that have worked for others and I have tried uninstalling the driver (standard usb mouse driver) and plugging it back in, and it re-installs the driver and the mouse works again, but when i uninstall the driver and plug it into the "dedicated" usb mouse port or any other usb port, the mouse gets power but wont re-install. I have tested this both on the F18 and F19e bios if that matters at all, and I hope someone can help me ... Thanks, Me (Ryan)
  2. FIRST OFF, i know there is another post about not having a bios like right below me, but i feel mine is a bit different and may be a different answer.... ------------------------------------ So i just got all the parts to my new build, and following linus's tutorial i put the cpu in (3770k) my motherboard (gigabyte ud3h) and proceeded to do a "test boot" before i threw it all together... as you can see in the picture i am including below, it got to to the screen that says insert boot media, with code AE on the dr debug (which i believe is normal....) http://i.imgur.com/s6u1zW3.jpg So i was like YES it posted, so i turned it off and back on, hit the f2 key one time because thats the general bios key usually, and code A9 on the dr. debug which means the bios is started, but the screen just went black and nothing came up.... so i was like oh, maybe the key im pressing is wrong, so i went back again and pushed delete and still got the A9 code but a blank screen...... Am i doing something wrong? Thanks for the help!!!
  3. Some of those sites seem fishy... I honestly would buy everything fron newegg even if it runs you a few hundred more
  4. Was going to go with xspc on my own build then i saw the kit was ~180usd then the gtx 780 waterblock was another $130 usd i just went with a h100i and a gtx 780 acx so hopefully it wont be a real huge difference from the water cooling...
  5. i can stretch my budget as far as i need to for a mobo that wont just break.... is the UD3H good and solid in your opinion? and good for overclocking ya?
  6. im just looking for a board that wont just break... im a nervous wreck when it comes to these things..... will the asus p8z77-v lk be okay in your opinion? i need to buy it like right now if i want it here friday ;)

  8. i have every part of my build besides the motherboard and i have a hard desicion to make... Asus p8z77-v lk ASROCK extreme4 z77 or MSI Z77A-G45 regular ORRRRR gaming version helllp!! i was originally going to go with the asus but now i see some bad reviews! thanks
  9. I've been told that but i do have the extra money for it so why not just get it in case i get into photoshopping or video stuff... thanks for the help :) Yup, ive been watching the 780 like a hawk... it comes in stock almost every other day for literally half an hour, then its sold out.... ive waited on buying it and they just randomly raised the price $10 so i kinda feel like i should have bought it earlier.... do you have personal experience with the sabertooth? ive heard really good things about it stability wise and i think thats what i might go with. thanks for the help :) I might actually get one because i heard it makes whatever you put on it a bit speedier... Thanks for the help!! :) One of the issues i was told about was that everything might be a bit tight in my case... Which im fine with.... But noone actually told me if everything can fit to begin with.... Ps. Is the power supply going to be enough? I won't be doing any sli-ing so from what i heard it will be fine... Thanks!
  10. I put together a build for me with a few friends, all of which had different opinions on what i should get, so i was really nervous to start ordering some things....
