  1. I wanted to follow up with my findings even though this post is a year old it's still a relevant question. I ended up getting a Accell cable from Amazon for $19.99 that works perfectly. It states its "VESA CERTIFIED: DisplayPort 1.2 compliant, up to 21.6Gbps throughput" I believe its the throughput that matters most as you can get certified cables with different throughput ratings so you want to make sure its 21.6Gbps or higher.
  2. Thanks for the replies and the information. I guess it really comes down to luck as to whether or not you get a good cable. I purchased my last cable from newegg this time I'll try my luck at amazon
  3. lol, thanks but I tried that once already. I'd like to get one that works this time
  4. I'm looking to replace a faulty DisplayPort (StarTech DISPLPORT15L) cable and I went to displayport.org and it states that displayport cables all run at the same 4k 60 hz. I have an Evga 1080 SC and an Acer predator X34 that I am trying to run at 3440x1400 100hz which my current cable can't handle. My monitor flickers on and off as if it's looking for another input or looks like it switches inputs but I only have the one cable connected to it. when I change the refresh rate to 60hz it works fine Wikipedia states there is a difference in the technology from 1.2 and 1.4 but does that include the cable or just the devices? So my questions is can I buy a 1.4 DP cable that has a higher bandwidth than 4k 60hz and do I really need more bandwidth than the 17.28 Gbit/s of 1.2? Any suggestions regarding quality cables would help aswell. Thanks
