  1. Turns out the iPads we were using were 8th gen and only had Bluetooth 4.2. So I tested it today with my Oppo Reno 4 (BT 5.1), but had the same problem. Very weird...
  2. Hey guys, We've recently bought a pair of Ronin SC gimbals to remotely control the angles of a couple of cameras. We're pretty happy with them, other than the fact that their range is a bit limited, and they're constantly going in and out of range. I was wondering if there exists such a thing as a Bluetooth Extender? The gimbals are controlled by an iOS app, so extending the range by slapping a dongle onto a USB cable is not as easy. (I think?) I know Bluetooth wasn't made to be extended, but if anybody can think of a possible solution I'd be grateful.
  3. I tried it with your recommendations, and sadly it happened again. I did seem to take longer this time, though. I also tried some things: ctrl + alt + delete doesn't work. The screens don't just go black, they turn off. I get no response if I try to ping from another device. Suffice to say Windows fully crashes.
  4. I haven't tried ctrl + alt + del, but both my screens go black, even though gta is only running on one of them.
  5. I had this problem about a month ago, and it magically went away. This evening it occured again four times in a row. After playing about 15 minutes of GTA my pc crashes. Both my screens go black and the audio cuts out. The rgb stays on, and fans don't change speed (meaning they don't go to 100%). The last observation leads me to believe that it's something other than overheating. I just don't know what it could be. This hasn't happened in any other game. I tried checking event logs, but I don't see anything crashing in either applications or system. 6. So I only realized today that it might be time to upgrade my GPU. I've currently got a Radeon HD 7870 which I got second hand for €50, but it's seen its days. I've found that the Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 580 8GB edition is on sale on Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/global/nl-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202278 Is it a good idea to place it in this system? I'll be using it to play games like GTA and Assassin's Creed on a 1080p monitor running at 75Hz. (I don't mind lowering settings to achieve a comfortable frame rate) Just a quick yes is appreciated, because I know I tend to buy things too fast and realize they don't work/fit/are not the best options while it's already on its way... 7. Does it actually matter which manufacturer you get it from? I'm asking because Newegg has a bunch of rx 580's on sale, except for the xfx one... https://www.newegg.com/global/nl-en/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=Radeon+RX+580+8+GB
  8. Wouldn't it be a bit overkill for 1080p@75 gaming, though? 9. Sorry, forgot to mention. My budget is around €500 ($567).
  10. So I built a pc, been using it for nearly a year now. Back then I bought the GPU second hand for €50 ($57). But unfortunately it's seen its best times. I'm getting some weird graphical glitches in any program that uses the GPU (games, YouTube, etc.). So (only just now) I thought: maybe it's a good idea to buy a GPU on Cyber Monday (I know, thinking ahead isn't my strongest ability). I did just buy a screen with FreeSync to fit the Club 3D Radeon HD 7870 that I currently have. Since I don't actually know anything about AMD GPU's, my question is: What's a good GPU to fit a Ryzen 5 1600 running at 3.2 GHz that supports FreeSync?
  11. Sorry for the l long wait. I've tested the same monitor and cable on a laptop, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. I don't have an iGPU, so that's not an option... It is a rather old GPU, so I'm guessing it's just seen its days.
  12. I don't know what caused it, but I'm not getting any output anymore from my motherboard's rear and front IO anymore... In audio devices they would still show up as not connected. After installing the drivers for my motherboard (ASRock AB350 Pro4) the device shows up as connected (even when it's actually not...). But still the only thing I hear is some weird pops as if somebody is ticking with his fingers on a table inside the speaker (recording attached as file). When I try to open the Realtek audio configuration menu it keeps 'reloading audio devices' and I keep getting notifications saying 'an audio device has been connected' and immediately afterwards 'an audio device has been disconnected'... Things I've tried: Reinstall drivers (didn't work) Try different audio device (used my G430, and it works with the USB dongle; not when plugged in the front or back audio jacks) Has anybody experienced this before? Up until I figure out what's going on I'll have to live with connecting my speakers to the G430's USB dongle. Audio pops.m4a
  13. Unfortunately the GPU is not compatible with the other pc's I've got at home, so that's not possible. I don't think you understood me, though. I used Radeon ReLive to capture my screen (so not with a camera aimed at my monitor). I still see the flashing colors when playing back that video on my phone. That means it can't be my monitor, right? Btw, I uploaded the video to Imgur: imgur.com/a/0okNCFh
  14. I've watched the screen capture I made on my phone, and I could see the same issue. This confirms that the problem is in the video card itself, right? Or is there something else you're trying to figure out?
  15. It's more like certain colors (mainly blue and red) lag behind the rest of the movement. And if that is classified as GPU artifacting, than I'm still actually very scared of putting my GPU in an oven... Btw, I can't attach the video, because it's too big. I'll wait for someone else to reply.
  16. So I've been getting some weird flashing colors on any video content/game that uses my GPU (tested this by turning of hardware acceleration in Chrome). Is this a common issue? And can it be fixed without buying a new GPU? Here is a screen capture of the problem: youtu.be/h9wGmQYMnGY PC specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NorthLake/saved/c2qVYJ P.S. Don't worry about the stutter, I just booted my pc, and just started Chrome (the amount of tabs should make that clear)
  17. So the government has decided to go hunting for anyone using the torrent protocol. I know I'd be a leacher (shame on me), but is there a way to stop Bittorrent from uploading/seading? Some of you might say that I could use a VPN, but that would mean that I must always be connected to it, and I don't want to pay for any unlimited VPN...
  18. I do have a backup, but it's only of the Windows partition.
  19. I know, I know, it's the stupidest thing I could do... Don't judge me... So I've accidentally deleted the wrong partition on my laptop (from internal drive instead of the external one). It seems that Windows used it to boot, because now I get a BSOD every time I boot it up. Besides the now empty space of about 17MB there are three other partitions: Windows (1TB), Recovery (524MB), and ESP (105MB). Does anybody know what the partition that I've stupidly deleted is, and whether I can do anything to revert my stupid actions without reinstalling Windows? This is a screenshot of all the partitions on the drive made with a Kali drive I had lying around:
  20. I did change that, but I can't even connect to my PC from another computer in the same network...
  21. So I've just built my first PC after spending two years with a terrible laptop. I would always leave the laptop at home (unless I specifically needed it) running FileZilla for when I might need to get some files. It has worked very well. Now that I've got a new PC I've reinstalled FileZilla (using xampp) and set it up (users, SSL, etc.). The problem is that I can't connect to it from any other PC inside or outside my network. I've opened port 21 in firewall, and I use the free version of Avast, so that doesn't have a firewall. If I connect to it from the PC it's running on nothing strange happens, but when I try to connect to it from another PC I can't see anything on either the client or in the server logs regarding a connection. Has anybody got an idea what else might be blocking the port from outside access? By the way, I know it's an issue with the port, because apache (also installed using xampp) works like it should.
  22. That's still about €690, but I appreciate the help.
  23. That's actually a bit too edited... I'll place the WiFi adapter in my own build and I guess I'll buy it! I know I just missed black Friday, but would it be worth it to wait for a sale?
