  1. I can't really describe the noise but its kinda like a whirling sound. It could be my 980Ti Hybrid. That one I have to RMA cause of the pump buzzing noise, but I'll double check if its the fan on the GPU. Could be the fans on my case itself.
  2. Does the pump for the H100i have a humming noise? Im trying to figure out which component in my system is making the most noise and I feel like it is the H100i right now. I am using NF-F12s on the H100i and i really doubt that the fans are the issue. It could be that my computer case just lets a lot of noise leak through it, but i should be able to work around that.
  3. I couldn't find the best forum to post this in, so ill give trouble shooting a shot. I am trying to optimize my computer towards silence. I already replaced all my fans with NF-F12s and my system seems to be "humming" right now. I can't really tell what is the cause of it right now, but i think it could be my H100i because i know that a fair bit of people are having pump issues, but from my testing (which involves just inplugging my fans to see if there is any change) it doesnt seem to be the case. It could be the fan on 980 Ti. Not the radiator fan but the actual fan on the GPU, but i doubt it because i really have to get close to hear anything. The last thing apart from the noise is coming from my hard drives would be that my case is just naturally noisy or at least does not dampen noise that much which i can somewhat understand. It could be my front intakes cause they're still the SP120QE's but i got those on LNA's so i doubt it. My specs are in my sig, but right now i am leaning towards just my tower being loud and not much. Any tests you guys recommend that i do to see which is the culprit? I dont want to be disassembling everything
  4. I was able to pick up the PSW10, how would i hook that up instead?
  5. Im planning on picking up the Yamaha YST-SW012 and i noticed that on the sub it uses a mono RCA cable. DO plug it into the center/sub port on my computer, do i just need a RCA to 3.5 mono adapter or do is it not possible?
  6. Thank you for your answer. I was looking for answer along those lines, not the "you're realistically not going to run that, so why include it?" which is phrase i dont want to see any top tier manufacturer, or any manufacturer really, to use. That is a very shitty way to view things IMO. I did not really think about validation honestly. I probably should have taken the time to check the release dates for each board. I am assuming that the ASUS Deluxe board is among the first X99 boards available in the market and there were very limited if not any 16GB DIMMS on the market. Most manufacturers now probably have the validation for the 16GB DIMMS now that there are "more" on the market. I was considering getting one of the server grade board cause of all the validations they go through, but i know that every component basically increases in price. Yeah and the fact that they're adding features to the board which i feel is a niche category. Dual Band WiFi is nice, but i think most people will have a wired connection. Bluetooth IMO is just a stupid add on, but who know.
  7. So it isnt something that can be fixed with a firmware update? Does it have to do with the memory controller?
  8. Really? When i look at the MSI X99S SLI Plus which is a $220 motherboard, it supports 128GB of RAM. Almost all X99 boards that i looked at, have 8 slots, and aren't ASUS support 128GB of RAM. You're definitely right, i probably won't load up to 128GB of RAM, BUT when i see a board liek the MSI X99S SLI for $220 supporting 128GB of RAM of does keep me wondering why ASUS opted out especially considering that the MSI is definitely targeting the X99 budget builder. If i budget board supports it, i would expect nearly everything in a higher class to support it. To be fair, 16GB DIMMS are very expensive, but it doesnt really excuse the fact that they're the only ones not supporting it.
  9. I was looking around and i noticed that ASUS only supports 64GB of DDR4 even on their Rampage V edition motherboard. I've been told that the reason is that most people won't be loading 128GB of DDR4 which is why they opted for 64GB. To my mind that would be a valid reason if they weren't the only one that did it. Their $300+ boards don't support 128GB of RAM which is strange to me since which pretty much any other board on the market that has 8 slots supports 128GB of RAM. So my question would be, would it supporting 128GB of RAM be a firmware thing? Their top of the line boards all have 8 slots of RAM, so i was just curious if a simple firmware update that remove the 8GB/slot restriction and make it 16GB/slot.
  10. Yeah, i pretty much maxed out my Pro4 rear USB ports, so having 10 will definitely help hahaha. I'm pretty much sold on the MSI board, but i might look into the Deluxe if there is a price drop when i do buy it
  11. The X99 Deluxe is considered a consumer board? I thought it was more in between consumer and enthusiast. That is a lot to take into consideration, but i dont think i will use the built in WiFi or Bluetooth mainly cause of how sketchy my room reception is and i have a Dual Band bridge already. More USB is really nice though. Is that board really highly rated? I'm leaning towards to the MSI X99S SLI mainly because there are a lot of reviews saying its a pretty solid board and Anandtech recommends it. I still feel like its more relevant for Z97 than X99. I mean its possible that they're coming out with a new X109 or whatever in March/April but i really doubt it.
  12. The main thing right now is the price is probably going to change and the availability of getting a X99 motherboards in store will increase, but i dont really think there would be insane changes. At least to the X99 platform. I can see that argument being more appropriate for the mainstream platform not really X99. Thats very true about the higher priced boards. And as far as features go, yeah its true that i probably wont ever need 128GB of RAM but in terms of price, i dont really understand how the ASUS Deluxe can get away with a 64GB cap priced at $389 where the MSI has roughly the same features with a cap of 128GB of ram priced at $220.
  13. I'm going to upgrade my desktop around late March and early April to the X99 platform, and i am trying to figure out which motherboard i should get. I made sure before hand that all my programs, not just gaming that i am going to be using can leverage the six core processors that you have to get with this platform, so i can justify this upgrade path. Right now what i have set on my mind is the i7-5820K and a 4x 8GB kit of Crucial Ballistic Sport. I can't really justify the extra PCIe lanes for the 5930K so im sticking with the 5820K. The Crucial Ballistic set is among the cheapest DDR4 RAM kits you can get while being fairly highly rated. Also, that black PCB is dope. Only thing i am missing is the motherboard. For the motherboard i am interested in the MSI X99S SLI Plus cause its pretty cheap and Anandtech gave it a recommendation. I am wondering if there is any other boards to take into consideration. EVGA X99 FTW looks interesting only being $70-80 more expensive and having a larger feature set. I haven't seen too many reviews of the FTW version, so i am a bit skeptical. The ASUS X99 Deluxe is something i've seen a lot of people recommending, but the 64GB maximum RAM capacity is bothering me when the MSI has 128GB RAM capcity at nearly half the price. At around the ASUS Deluxe price the EVGA classified is also an option. Any other recommendations?
  14. Nevermind it works, my new case is just significantly louder than my previous case.
