  3. Sponsored by Update No.7 Inet and ASUS sponsor announcement G'day and welcome! In this latest update, I would like to happily announce Inet and ASUS as sponsors for the Re(de)fine project. It was certainly a surprise to me that Inet and ASUS had collaborated together to sponsor an ASUS Z97 Gryphon Armor Edition mATX motherboard! On top of this, ASUS had sent me a whole bag of awesome ROG "Swag" which I will be giving away to a lucky reader My thinking is that I would love to give back something to the modding community for all of the support that I have been given. The swag is including the following: ROG shirt ROG mousepad ASUS 8GB USB flashdrive ASUS bag This motherboard will work perfectly is this project, which I have plans to paint the Armor with white Plastidip so that it blends well with the inside of the Air 240 chassis. Here are some images of the goodies: And here are the images of the motherboard: Thanks for looking guys and girls, I will have a modding update for you VERY soon! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  4. Thank you everyone! These cables came out great, and will look even better in the system Thanks once again Adam! /Justin
  5. Sponsored by Update No.6 UPC sponsorship update Hello guys and girls of modding! This update is to announce UPC (Ultimate Personal Computer) as a sponsor of custom made and sleeved cable kit for my Corsair RM850 PSU. These cables were hand made by Adam Birli - who is the owner at UPC - using a combination of MDPC sleeving and his own sleeving named Aegis! These cables will go perfect with this build. I just love the look and feel of them and best of all, I don't need to sleeve! Thanks UPC for the sponsorship. So guys, thank you for reading, and I will have another update for you in just a few days! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  6. Sponsored by Update No.5 Custom paintjob for PSU Continuation of custom leather panels Hello and welcome again everybody! I have a small update as I have had a few questions regarding which PSU I have used in this project. Well I am here to tell! The PSU is a Corsair RM850w, painted with paint which is used for painting cars with the bran Multona, bought from Mekonomen online for instore. I used superwhite with colourc ode #0009, and finished off with 2 layers clear coat. This paint is durable, and looks great all glossy. The inside of the case, and all outside panels are repainted with the same coloured paint, as I am a perfectionist. I would like to apologize for the lack of images of the PSU itself... I had very limited time to get the project finished before DH, so documenting the painting process was a low priority But I will spam with more images of the case with PSU installed, and a few other custom panels which I made for this beast PC. Oh, did I mention that a GTX970 Strix from ASUS is going into this bad boy? No?! OK, well I will have some images of this, and some more sponsor announcements over the coming days! Time for the photodump! So as usual everyone, please let me know on anything that I can improve on and I will take that on constructive criticism - making an even better build log for you all to enjoy Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  7. Pulls out Preperation H. Thank you sir! Haha. More girly, I know That is why I am shy in front of a camera! Kind regards, Justin
  8. Hey everyone, So I went ahead and made a short video of the Re(de)fine while WIP. Please check it out! Kind regards, Justin
  9. Thanks for the tip. I will try tonight to fix that wrinkle out with a heatsource /Justin
  10. I like that it is so pale. I would have preferred a darker tanned colour personally.. The colour of this material differed from the sample on the website which I ordered from. They even folded it and crammed it into a box, thus creating wrinkles all over it. Easy to say that I will never order from them again The cable cover is made from 1.5mm aluminium sheet that I have cut and bent. Then I used 3M spray on glue to adhere the faux leather, and "wrap" these aluminium panels. Thanks mate! I like using these odd materials, and plan on using wood in an upcoming project Kind regards, Justin
  11. Sponsored by Update No.4 Backplate Construction in Installation Hello again and welcome to another of my crazy updates, using this fine little case called the Carbide Air 240 from Corsair. Well, Once I got the leather in, I started experimenting with how I would use it in this project. I had the idea of creating some vanity plates in various places of the case to make it feel cozy, like the inside of the Maclaren Spider's cockpit. First I started off with making a cable cover for the backside. To attach these two plates together, I made a plate which screws into both the top and bottom plates which features my logo. I cut the logo from vinyl using scissors ( as I do not have one of those fancy plotters... Maybe you guys can crowdfund me one? ) and stuck it on. Then I painted the plate and logo which gave this awesome embossed look which is only visible from certain angles. Once everything was cut, glued and fitted, I went ahead and installed it into the case. Here you can also see the painted PSU. more pictures of that coming soon There are some small wrinkles in the leather that I cannot get out, but I do not mind. It gives the case a "worn in" feel. That is it for me with this update. Please let me know what you think so far, and if you want any more details, you need but just ask Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  12. Thank you everyone for the awesome response!! I am working on the next update for you guys as I type Things that I have to do are: Sleeve fan cables Fabricate leather dress panel for H100i Install power button Paint motherboard armour Paint GPU shroud Paint SSD Install everything Wire it up These things will happen really fast, and this project should be finished (hopefully) by the end of the week. Stay tuned as I have some sponsor announcements and such as well! Thanks for reading and giving me this great motivation! The sponsored S-Frame project starts right after this Kind regards, Justin
  13. OOoooh, nice thread an projects Kind regards, Justin
  14. Looks like I will not be watercooling my project guys. I have read that only a 240 in the front and 240 in the bottom are possible with mITX motherboard. If you want to get creative, you could have a 240 rad which is in the back compartment near the PSU. Mount it up where the HDD cage would be, and cut ventilation holes into the side panel. That would be awesome.. Kind regards, Justin
  15. Haha, I know! Wrong month to apply maybe? Everyone is deserving of that prize, some just more so than others. Kind regards, Justin
  16. Sponsored by Update No.3 Hey guys! Progress on this project has been steaming along at 12000m/s (in my opinion anyways ) and the project is almost complete. I am going to play some catch up with the updates now, and they should be coming in every couple of days whenever I get some free time to sit down and type So, I thought it would be a cool idea to dress the inside of the case with leather I was inspired by the Maclaren Spider, with it's sleek looks and awesome white/black/tan coloured leather details. So I went ahead and ordered the leather! Once the leather came in, my daughter thought it was an awesome idea to run around on the leather when it was fully laid out in the kitchen. I had noticed that during delivery, the company that sent it had folded the leather so that it would fit into the box, thus leaving fold creases all of it! Seriously, what do people think sometimes?? I hope you guys liked this taste portion of the awesomeness that is about to come. See you all at the next update! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen

  18. Sponsored by Hey everyone! I have a nice little update for you. I have been hard at work painting and clear coating these last few days, but have not had so much time to get so many photos. I am doing all of this at my workplace before/after work and during lunch breaks and whenever I get a free minute to spare. In this update I show that I painted the inside of the case from black to white... And oh my does it look mighty fine! I am in the process of painting the fans and top/bottom panels, and clear coating the painted PSU and redone front panel. I will have photos of those after the weekend for your viewing pleasure. I hope you have liked this update Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  19. Well I have had the good fortune to have sponsors, and private people who I have built PC's for. I don't own all of these PCs, although I wish I did And my wife has given up being angry and just lets me do it. It is better to ask for forgiveness than permission, Haha! /J
  20. Thanks guys!! Some awesome progress so far with an official update coming soon! So far I have painted the entire inside of the case white, filled in all holes on the front panel, and painted that. Painted the PSU and PSU fan. I am midway through painting the fans, and clear coating the PSU. I have also ordered the leather which is on it's way to me, and started designing one of the dress panels at the back of the case. As I said photos coming soon, and I will combine all painting and clear floating into one fat update Kind regards, Justin
  21. "It is not posted on any other forums. If the project is posted on another forum, the log must link back to the OCN thread." It should be ok. /J
