  1. Windows 10 with latest Chrome version on both PC.
  2. Done, still can't. Both has the latest Chrome. My dad's PC had ublock origin installled which I had disabled when trying. No problem. My own PC has same ublock origin installed and running (with more other unrelated plugins), but no problem.
  3. My dad's PC could not login to a banking site using Chrome. It stuck loading the security image. (https://www.maybank2u.com.my/home/m2u/common/login.do) It worked fine with Firefox on the same PC. It worked fine with Chrome on my other computer. Usually after key in the username and clicked login, a security image will pop out for you to confirm it is your security image and key in the password but the security image just would not load. Cleared the cache, Chrome is updated, disabled uBlock, restarted computer, but still cannot find the issue. Any ideas what else I should check?
  4. Even if they're really spoofing the amazon sent address, I still don't understand what they're trying to do. There's nowhere where they ask me to key in the password/ email address. Just a button for me to deny to login.
  5. Nope. I'd clicked on the link. It is not a link to ask for any password. It just brings me to something like this. Clicking view details brings me this
  6. I'm trying to figure out whether an email that was sent to my girlfriend is a scam or a phising email, but I cannot figure out how does it work. It was sent from Amazon: account-update@amazon.com The link to approve or deny is https://www.amazon.com/a/c/*************************************************** (edited the link as it exposes my IP) So my gf claims she does not have an amazon account. I'd tried to check with forget password with Amazon website and confirmed the email address does not exist. I'm 99% sure this is a scam, but I cannot figure out how does this work? All the links seem legit and they're from Amazon. Edited as the 2nd link exposed my IP/ location.
  7. I changed the CMOS and the problem is resolved. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  8. Nope. It's admin. Checked the time zone, it was correct. Both these comments made me go back and double check and did some experiments. I was wrong previously when I stated the date and minutes/ seconds was wrong. The time was totally wrong. I tried unplugging all the power to the computer (pulled the PSU power cord) for a few hours and plug it in and reboot the computer. By doing this I was able to replicate the problem. It seemed like the CMOS was not totally dead...? The time was slowed by the amount of time I had unplugged the power to the PSU. But the weird thing is the BIOS did not reset, ie, no changes to the bios, seems like the computer's time is just frozen in place. I'm going to find a CMOS battery to replace it. From what I see from online resellers, they called it as "laptop CMOS battery".
  9. I do use VPN. I'll try to check. The reason I think of malware because I tried to turn off the setting to "set time automatically" and it seems like it windows did not register the changes after I closed the windows? It turned it back on after I close the window or after I restarted it. But this does not happen every time. Since it happens on and off over a few weeks time and it happened randomly, so I'm having a hard time figuring out the cause.
  10. On 2nd thought, it might not be the CMOS battery. This is because there is no other problem other than the time changes (CMOS low battery would cause other problems IIRC right?) Another clue is that the time did not change randomly, it is always the differences of a few hours, but the date and the minute/ seconds are correct?????? The time zone is set correctly. Furthermore I think the hour differences are different each time? So do I have to worry about malware?
  11. Ok. I though changing the Cmos battery is the easiest way to rule out a CMOS battery problem. But since that is a hassle I think I'll investigate further. If it is not CMOS then I'm worry it is some malware that is randomly changing the window's time? I'll also try to check the bios time next time when the time changes again.
  12. Most likely that is the battery, but they shrink wrapped it? i don't know how this works or how to replaced it. So I'm confused. Do I have to replace the battery, including the whole connection?
  13. My dad's computer time keeps changing. It happens randomly. I will sync it and after a few days the time will changed to another time. Not sure what is happening. The computer is fairly old (it's an amd 1st gen ryzen 3 iirc). I'm suspecting it might be the the cmos battery so I want to change it. Specs: Windows 11, ryzen 2200g(iirc), 8gb ram. But the cmos battery looks weird. How do I change the battery? It is an itx gigabyte motherboard, GA-AB350N-Gaming WiFi. This is the manual site: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350N-Gaming-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl How do I change it? Seems like they shrink wrapped the cmos battery???

  15. I saw an extremely good video that compares the major types of mobile processors's efficiency. They jailbreaked iphones to limit/ target the power usage in order to see what's their performance at a particular power consumption. You might not be able to understand since it's in Chinese but the graphs are very interesting. FYI 骁龙 is Snapdragon, 天玑 is Dimensity/ Mediatek 9000 or 8100, and A12/ A13 / A14 ofc refers to apple iphones. They do have an English version of their channel but likely they had not translated this video yet. https://www.youtube.com/c/Geekerwan/featured Hint hint: Maybe LTT labs can consider videos like these as mobile processors reviews are basically worthless pile of ****.
