  1. Although it says the 100C, the GPU core itself is cool to touch. Unfortunately I don't have any IR Temp sensor to get the exact figures. I have currently removed the card and went back to using my old GPUs. The thermal pads on VRMs are all good. The temps there are A OK. You can see it in the log file I uploaded in my 1st post. I am now thinking about re-flashing the BIOS.
  2. The card is always in idle clock mode i.e. 300 MHz may be because of the temp sensor. As soon as I start any game temps show 100+ and the card starts throttling.. I dont have and previous benchmarks as I bought it used a while back. It was working well on the owner's PC.
  3. ok, I will try installing the drivers that came with the card.. I hope it works..
  4. fairly recently.. and with the GPU Issues it is running without side-panel anyways
  5. That I have not yet tried. I just installed the latest drivers AMD had to offer @MrUnknownEMC Unfortunately , don't have a Temp Probe at hand..
  6. no, not yet.. PC is running fine with GPU temps around 99
  7. I just replaced my thermal compound so even if there is a small gap the GPU should be in contact with the heatsink through the paste. there might be a sensor malfunction but I am not familiar with any method to test it..
  8. It feels warm but not 98° The fan kicks in at 100% from boot up..
  9. Precision X requires EVGA Cards I have GPU-Z shows the same
  10. Is my GPU measuring temp in °F but somehow the softwares are showing it in °C? I have changed the themal compound and the GPU does not feel that hot to touch. Manually changing the Fan speed does not change much either. Can anyone tell me if I can check this somewhere? GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X OC Boost Not overclocked and running stock BIOS. 11. @f22luke You were right.. it worked with 2 8-Pin connectors..
  12. My BIOS is on th latest version HP offered (v1.46). I did try it with a 8-pin connector over 2 Molex connectors and 6-Pin direct from PSU.. it did not work. I will check what are the pin out voltages of the black PCIe 6-pin connectors. What I currently dont have is the possibility to use 2x 8-Pin connectors that the card requires. The PSU only has 3x Molex connectors to offer. It might also be the PSU itself as I am using the 800W one. I am sure it is a 80+ Gold unit. Although I dont think that the CPUs alone are drawing all the power and the machine cannot run the GPU. Thing is the GPU starts for a second or two and then stops working.
