  1. I have tried at least 4 different monitors/leads trying VGA/HDMI/DP Yeah that is what i was thinking, gona try find a mobo and see if that works. Iverything powers up so its not that, but i also tested out of the case shorting the two pins for most of my tests
  2. Heya, Im having some trouble getting a PC to boot below is what ive got, what is happening and what I've tried: Equipment 6700K ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING MoBo 2x 8GB 3200 DDR4 980Ti H100i Water cooler Whats Happening CPU Q LED comes on and turns off DRAM Q LED comes on for about 5 seconds then goes off no other LEDs come on after that What I've tried clear CMOS Re-seating ram Trying 1 stick in each slot Try the other stick in each slot Try a know working stick in each slot re-seat cpu and check for bent pins (none) Try with and without GPU Tried a different PSU Tried with only ram/cpu plugged in
  3. Specs are not too great, but more then enough to play the games i play. CPU: i5-7600 GPU: R9 390 Ram: 16GB DDR4 SSD: 120GB (500GB M.2 NVMe SSD in the post) HDD: 2x 1TB WD Blues in RAID 0 (only games are stored here) This weekend ill sort out the back cables and get that 10/10
  4. Just finished rebuilding my rig into a new case as the previous one had amazingly bad airflow. I think the end product is good, the back cable management could be a lot better (*looks at the 24 pin connector*) but I think the front has turned out well
  5. I know it's a tad OCD but the audio leads from my case are coloured and stick out (well to me they do) I've ordered some black heat shrink for another project but I'm thinking I can hide these wires using it. Would this be a good or bad idea?
  6. Ive just gone and brought 2x 1TB WD blue HDDs for my Gaming PC. I have a 120GB boot drive for windows. I was thinking of putting the 2 HHDs in RAID 0 for more space and better speeds. The only thing this will hold is my steam library something like the last 3 hours of game play footage. Ive seen alot of people say not to use RAID 0 as you can loose all your data, but as this data is not critical should i even worry?
  7. The air behind the PC is actuly 2 degrees cooler there then the center if the room. I have temperature sensors all around the place so I’ll monitor this and if this changes I’ll alter the setup
  8. I have almost finished this mini ITX build using the Thermaltake Core V1 case and just wanted peoples opinions on how I've set up the fans for this build. I have two 82mm intake fans at the back of the PC pulling air from behind the PC into the case. The CPU uses a 92mm fan. At the front, i have a 200mm exhaust fan. (see attached image for air flow direction) I have Fan filters on order for the rear 82mm fans as well as for the side where the GPU intakes air.
  9. You can but it adds an overhead on the CPU so as the site/application scales there will be more strain on the server. In the long run, it's cheaper to upgrade your storage rather than the CPU.
  10. Look into imagejpeg() as said previously you can compress them on upload or you can do it on serve but save/cache the compressed image for later use. The process would go like <?php $file = "files/photos/source/" . $_GET["file"]; $compressdFile = "files/photos/compressed/" . $_GET["file"]; /* do security check here to make sure the user can access this file */ if (file_exists($compressdFile)) { /* serve $compressdFile */ } else { /* compress file */ /* save compressed file to $compressdFile */ /* serve $compressdFile */ } ?> Or you can always compress on upload and still use this way to support already uploaded images
  11. I've done all of those several times over, im looking for a larger project to get my teeth stuck into
  12. I'm looking for a new JavaScript/Node.js project to get stuck into, just wondering if anyone needed a hand with a project or if anyone has any ideas
  13. I can't really comment much as I mainly play Overwatch but I'm always at 60 FPS at 1440p at high/ultra and that's with an i5-3330 CPU.
  14. Its at least a temporary solution until all these mining GPUs hit the 2nd hand market IMO
