  1. Yeah I was looking at that one, but in a bunch of the reviews I've read it said that the UEFI BIOS is a bit janky. I currently have an Asus x99-e board for the i7 5820k I have......is it much different than that BIOS?
  2. Hi all! I am currently looking to upgrade to the Ryzen platform. Currently have an i7 5820k, 16gb of 2666MHz RAM, GTX 1080. Looking to replace that with a Ryzen 3700x, 16GB of 3200MHz RAM and a new mobo. But, I can't seem to find really good, reliable, MOBO reviews. Some say one is good, with good OC'ing, but then another site will say it is trash lol. Looking for a board that will allow me to OC the 3700x with decent temps. Good VRM setup and cooling. And has a decent enough UEFI BIOS that's easy to understand. Kicker here is I don't really want to spend more than $250. Can you guys help me?
  3. Here's something I quick threw together. I'm sure someone can critique it and give some better optimizations as far as parts combinations. Just add about $200 for the 3950x, cause it's not listed on PPP yet. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XZTb8M
  4. No one said he isn't. And depending on his budget, it might not be too expensive for him.
  5. He wants to do video editing as well. And if it's for his job, you want the best available as time is money.
  6. Yeah, just under performing and starting to have random mini freezes. I've seen a bunch of builds using more recent Intel chips, with the 1080 and getting much better gaming performance than I'm able to get. If the chip could still OC to 4.6GHz, I probably would be content until the Ryzen 4000 series.....but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
  7. Hi All! I need some help here. My system is running a bit sluggish as of late. I bought it used a few months ago, but the person I bought it from had it for something like 2 years. In talking with him, the i7 5820k in the system used to be able to hit 4.6GHz stable. Now it can barely hit 4.250GHz stable. So, I'm looking to possibly upgrade my system. I was wondering if you guys might be able to shed some light on this for me. Looking at going with a RyZen 3700x or 3800x. I don't know which one I want to go with......or if it's even worth it to upgrade right now. Here's my current system: CPU: i7-5820k OC'd 4.250GHz RAM: 16GB 2033MHz GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 MOBO: Asus x99-e PSU: EVGA Supernova 650w Gold cert Here's what I am looking to upgrade to. Just replace the 3800x with the 3700x in this parts list. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cFymgJ Is it worth it to upgrade from my 5820k? Which CPU would be better for Ryzen? Is the 3800x worth the extra $50ish compared to the 3700x?
  8. Thought AMD itself was limiting board manufacturers to only having x500 natively run Ryzen 3rd gen?
  9. Yeah I was playing it around the same time with an i7 4790k and a rx 480 8g and it was struggling to keep decent frames on a mix of high/med settings in mass PvP.
  10. The top level Ryzen(3900x) goes toe to toe with any chip Intel has for the consumer market. Even having better stock single core performance vs the 9900k. The Ryzen 3600 is a beast of a cpu. Great single core performance and great multi-core performance, for a very reasonable price. Think you can get them for like $200.
  11. Yeah, but ESO(Elder Scrolls Online) is notoriously hard to run with high settings in PvP and even endgame PvE. Being more cpu dependant than GPU dependant.
