  1. Main Question: Due to SLI being phased out is it possible to have multiple cards (probably the same type of card) running on same game concurrently? I used to have two sli 980 ti while having 6 monitors running. (excessive i know) but i would change the game settings to be super wide setting. When I upgraded to the 3090 I dropped down to four. I think my 3090 has sli on it but going forward im not seeing the new cards having it. If i wanted to do a excessive amount of monitors could I buy two cards and have them running the same game? Or would i be limited to the game running on only 1 card?
  2. have a 3080ti but my monitor doesnt have a display port and it can only do 144hz with the dvi port. I got a display to dvi but im locked at 60hz. Honestly after double checking i think the cable can only do 60 but when I tried to find one that could do 144 i couldnt find any. Is this a limitation i didnt know about?
  3. Summery: Laptop is expensive and while I spent days looking around for the best price I want to make sure I didnt miss anything else. Also just looking for recommendations. Heres the laptop https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Display-i9-12900H-Keyboard-G733ZW-DS94/dp/B09TPV4R9P/ref=nav_ya_signin?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=583259186550&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=897674057165186845&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9017769&hvtargid=pla-1649469990934&th=1 Im mainly looking for if this is a good price for this level of laptop. From what I can see its the lowest that has a 12900h cpu and a 3070ti ( i do know that both of these aren't as powerful as desktop versions. ) I mainly program due to hobby and job but I do play halo infinite, battlefield, battlefront, and other games that dont need a 3070ti. My current laptop (gpu died last week) was a i7-6700hq and a 1070 from 6 years ago. I would like this laptop to last me 5 to 6 years. The newegg posting of this laptop is 100$ cheaper but its not in stock. I kinda need the laptop soon since its my daily driver for around 8 - 10 hours a day. Always plugged in. So i dont want to wait for the 4000 series gpus. I looked at the QHD 240hz but it seemed to shoot the price up to 2900 +.
  4. Im not very knowledgeable when it comes to mobos. Right now my requirements are Pci x16 for my 3090 I would like 3 m.2 but i cant find one that im liking so im prob gunna have to settle with 2. ( I have 1 m.2 in current build but i have 2 more sitting in a drawer ) 2 pci x1 slots that dont get covered by my 3090 ( i use a ton of peripherals so i use two usb expansion ports i can make due with one ill just get a larger expansion port Any recommendations? Current Build i7 6700k mis venture 3090 32 gig mem closed corsair liquid cooling im looking at this one right now https://www.newegg.com/asrock-x570-taichi/p/N82E16813157883?quicklink=true
  5. As someone looking to purchase a cooler for the 5000 series wil the Enermax ETS-T50 keep the 5900 or 5950 x cool?
  6. So there will not problems with performance or visuals to have it run at 1440p?
  7. Im (eventually) going to get a 3090 or 3080ti i play both single player and multiplayer games and because of that I would like to focus on visuals (4k 60 plus frames with rt on) during non completive and on competitive (1440p 144hz). So you can lower the resolution but as someone who has only used a 1080 p monitor whenever i lowered it to like 1600 it looked like crap. So is what im thinking possible and would it look bad on a 4k montior?
  8. I have a 980 and it can only output 1 monitor at 144hz at a time. This might sound dumb but i was just curious.
  9. Budget (including currency): Planning on getting the 5900x, and rx3900 xt, mobo im willing to go up to 300 and 500 on monitor also looking for water cool up to 360 mm for cpu. Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play cod, league, valorant, hopefully in the next few years cyberpunk and other. I use blender and unity/ unreal for fun game design. Plus programming student. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Fps does matter if im getting 144hz im happy but it doesnt look like we are at 4k 144 hz yet. so should i go up to 4k or go up to 1440 i have a 1080 rright now. the monitors im looking at. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-ips-led-qhd-freesync-and-g-sync-compatable-monitor-with-hdr-black/6401809.p?skuId=6401809 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-xg270hu-27-led-qhd-freesync-g-sync-monitor-black-orange/4434101.p?skuId=4434101 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-s2719dgf-27-led-qhd-freesync-monitor-black/6293714.p?skuId=6293714 For monitors im really looking for good response time but im also looking for something that looks great. What ive been using all these years hasnt really awed me i have just been getting whatever was cheapest. motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/asrock-b550-taichi/p/N82E16813157938?Item=N82E16813157938 For a motherboard I am looking for something that obs works with the 5000 series right away even though i doubt ill be able to get it till next year. I want two m.2 slots as i have one right now and a m.2 just sitting around. I would like more short pci slots for usb and storage expansions while i can work with two as the mobo i linked showed i would like more. I dont care about rgb. I want to know opinions on what i linked and if anything has a better option. current build i76700k 980ti 32gig 2800(i think) 800w cpu
  10. Most places ive looked at estimate it should be able to run at 4k 144hz but im not gunna buy the monitor till after i know for sure with people doing benchmarks
  11. Due to reasons I have the ability to get a 3090.(I know its a low chance to actually get one due to stock) And with that i want to actually use it not continue to game on 1080p. So Im looking for a good 4k 144 hz monitor. I would like to spend 500 or less. The Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q was pretty much the only one i could find, does anyone have experience with this monitor? Otherwise do you have recommendations? My current gpu is a 980.
  12. well to be honest its for a friend im getting the 3090 and 4950x. I just have these laying around and i wanted to make sure they would work without hindering each other.
