H100i gtx sound proofing
skellyjoe97 replied to skellyjoe97's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
It's actually louder for me in quiet mode. makes more of a clicking sound thanot just the normal buzz. How much difference does that foam actually make? I have a 600t case if that makes any difference -
Dear forum users and general knowers of all things pc. I am in the search of silence (or as close to as possible) in my gaming rig and have nearly succeeded to an acceptable standard. I am at the stage now where the only sound in my case is the pump on my h100i gtx. Is there any way of soundproofing the pump itself? vibration damping or something? I'd love some advice if anyone has some! Thanks!

thanks for the insight I'm thinking Noctua are the way to go but the Noiseblocker NB fans do look very cool (if you'll excuse the pun )

Hi guys, Just wondering, I have just bought myself a hybrid gpu and already have a H100i GTX. I'm looking for almost silent use (normal loads and gaming) and am wondering what fans to choose? I have room for 2x 120mm on the H100i, 1x 120mm on the gpu cooler (should i bother with push/pull?) and 1x 200mm as intake to the case. I seem to have been lucky with my cpu and gpu as they are running very cool even on lowest fan speeds (gpu stays under 40 idle with the fan disconnected) so RPM isn't an issue, just looking for quietness Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

When I look in gpu-z it comes up as x16 x4?

What if my mobo only supports x16x4 crossfire? Would a single card then outperform it?

Hi guys. I currently have an hd7990 and am wondering in what situations a 390x would outperform it. I read that the 7990 had more texture mapping units, higher floating point performance, more shading units, more compute units. Is that because it's basically two 7970s? What situation would a single 390x outperform my card? Is it worth the money to upgrade?

P8Z77-V LE 3770 not booting
skellyjoe97 replied to skellyjoe97's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I currently just have one stick of ram and the cpu installed. (it's still in the case but that's just the diy cooling bracket i have atm) -
I recently bought a p8z77-V LE off ebay, one of the pins in the sicket was bent but I bent i back to look like the others. I have installed everything into my case (i have a 3770 non k). I click the power button and nothing happens at all. the case is new and the switch worked with my old mobo. What could the problems be? Full specs: CPU: i7 3770 mobo: P8Z77-V LE RAM: 16GB Hyper X Fury Cooler: H100i GTX OS: windows 10 64bit GPU: HD7990

Yes that's what I mean. I was worried that without the lid it would sit lower and nit contact the cooler. 20160219_193551.mp4

Hi guys wondering if you know. I recently bought a mobo on ebay and it has arrived without the top half of the am3 socket (the bit with the lever and slider). Is there a way to replace it? Or is it not entirely needed? The board is for my friend and he won't fiddle with it. Will the cooler still make contact without this part? Thanks guys
