  1. I thought CS:GO was CPU based rather than gpu based, am I wrong?
  2. Since he's a new builder, is there a way to get a semi modular power supply?
  3. He doesn't really know much, or even anything about building a computer. I mean, he called a case a "motherboard" but an SSD wouldn't be needed, he doesn't care a lot about boot speeds and everything, he just wants performance I guess
  4. Hey guys, My friend has a budget of $800 (including monitor, no peripherals other than that necessary) and he wants to primarily play only CS:GO. He doesn't care about form factor or anything, 144hz is always wanted but he doesn't care about it, 60 or 144hz is good enough. He just wants a computer that can run it smoothly, very high at above 250+ fps in all maps.. I currently have a build planned out for him and I want to see your guys' opinion on it and your builds! I'll ask him stuff as well PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($204.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($37.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($40.49 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($46.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($219.98 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair Carbide Series 88R MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($43.98 @ Newegg) Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($139.00 @ Amazon) Total: $775.30 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-03-01 22:43 EST-0500
  5. Okay, I need the ethernet/lan driver for my mobo yes?
  6. the video card drivers? or mobo drivers. which one should I download? can you be more specific? also with internet and everything you do when you first boot a computer
  7. 4690k, cryorig h7, z97s sli krait, r9 390. and the video cable, Dual link DVI-D is connected into the monitor and the port on the video card
  8. So I successfully booted up my computer and installed windows 7. I haven't downloaded any drivers yet and I went onto the windows media player and it says I need more than 64mb of VRam to play high end videos or videos at all. Does this mean my video card is defective? does this mean my motherboard is defective? Should I RMA or does it mean that I need to install the drivers . If so which ones?
  9. okay.. so I can RMA the board and taking off the cpu won't be a hassle? i got you.. thank you. and doing it left and right doesn't work right?
  10. that's gonna be a pain doing everything all over again, and taking off the cpu.. will it matter if I take off the cpu? is it easy to take off
  11. so i tried booting up my computer with 2 sticks of ram in dual channel. it didn't boot up but once I tried only one channel it booted up. I'm certain it is my motherboard. the 2 furthest away from my cpu, for my case it's black and white tor the z97s don't work.. but the two nearest to my cooler, work. can it work if I put the 2 sticks next to each other? or should I RMA my motherboard or just go for the easy route and return my memory, and go for an 8gb stick? but my biggest question is would the 8gb boot up if I put it next to each other? (white and black)
  12. I got it in all the way but it still keeps turning on and off
  13. what color wires should the top be? red/black
  14. it's impossible to push in the 4 pin all the way, it's like stuck
