  1. As I mentioned in my original post, all my nvidia drivers are up to date. What do you mean by "see what your monitor is running at"? My monitor is already running at the recommended 2560x1440 resolution both in the Windows settings and in the nvidia control panel. Thanks.
  2. If I lower the in-game resolution to anything other than my native 2560x1440 the game minimizes itself and 90% of the time it would not maximize itself to fullscreen. It stays minimized. It eventually stays maximized after a dozen attempts but then if I ALT+TAB out of the game I have to either change back to native 1440p or keep trying to TAB back into the game until it sticks. I used to own a VG248QE 1080p 144hz monitor and I never had this problem. It only started happening once I upgraded to the LG 27GL83A-B 1440p 144hz monitor. When I set my monitors resolution to 1080p and go into a game it runs perfectly at any resolution without problem so I can only assume that 1440p is the problem somehow. The problem persists throughout all of my games (CSGO, Apex Legends, Tarkov, Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, etc.) I am running dual monitor setup, my second being the LG 29UM69G 75hz 1080p UltraWide. Both connected to a GTX 1080 GPU and Ryzen 9 5900x with 32GB RAM. My NVIDIA drivers are up to date. I tried all sorts of settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel including GSync and HDR options. Thanks for any help in advance.
  3. I'm still gaming on 1080p. I decided not to switch to 1440p at the time for various reasons. Thanks for your reply. I was saving up for the upgrade for a bit and now that I am able to make it, it's gonna take all my brain cells working together not to buy it all but I'll wait. In the meantime I guess I should just format my PC and install only the essentials until I do make the upgrade. I hate the hassle of backing up stuff before formatting but I guess I need it. Thanks for your reply!
  4. I currently have the GTX 1080 and an i7 7700k. I want to buy the RTX 2080ti and an i7 9700k. I want to be able to get consistent 144+ FPS on games like Modern Warfare while Streaming. I am pretty set on the RTX 2080ti so that would be hard to change my mind off of but I'm not sure if there is a better CPU choice I could make to get the same/better performance at a lower cost. I am currently experiencing slowdowns in-game and in Windows and my Windows Store is completely broken so I can't play Sea of Thieves or Metro Exodus so I want to format my Windows Install before the upgrade. Thank you for any help in advance! EDIT: I believe I posted in the wrong section. Could a Moderator move this to "New Builds and Planning"? I can't see a way for me to do it myself...
  5. CPU Temps were around 50 degrees celcius. Using the X62 Kraken.
  6. Just got a new PC. Specs below. It took me 12 minutes 14 seconds to render a 4 minute 5 second video with some basic editing done to it. I tried GPU acceleration on and off but same result. Is this normal for the PC build that I have or is something wrong? Thanks in advance. Specs: i7-7700k @ 4.2GHz EVGA GTX 1080 SC 16 GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM EDIT: I'm using Vegas Pro 15, rendering using the Windows Media Video V11, 8Mbps HD 1080-30p Video preset where the only things I changed are the FPS to 60, video smoothness to 100 in video tab and Video Rendering Quality to Best in Project tab.
  7. Sorry for the late reply. I tried looking that monitor up and I could not find it. Any other suggestions? I also changed my mind again and opted to go for the IPS version but the secondary monitor does not have to be IPS unless a cheap one appears.
  8. • What could be a good 1440p 27" 60Hz cheap monitor that I could use as a second monitor alongside the PG279Q? My Current Monitor: Acer S240HL 1080p 24" 60Hz Monitor I Want To Get: ASUS PG279Q 1440p 27" 165Hz I was originally planning on getting the ASUS VG248QE 1080p 24" 144Hz monitor and have my current one as the second monitor but I decided to upgrade the resolution and I feel like having a 1440p monitor and a 1080p as your secondary would feel weird since the resolution difference. I've seen side by side comparisons for 1440p and 1080p and it just doesn't look right in my opinion. I don't have any real budget but at the same time I don't want to dish out over $1400 on two monitors. Thanks
  9. I'm honestly not even using the 7.1 because it's completely garbage in those headphones. Thought it would be way better but then the issue is, the length of the cable from the headset to the audio jack which is supposed to plug into the USB dongle thing is about half of the minimum length I need to reach the back of my PC and not have my face stuck to the monitor.
  10. Uhhh yeah.... ummm no. You can't configure the headphones I'm using right now... The button is grayed out... I need to find a job and get myself a better PC... and headphones...
  11. My ears aren't the best I'm pretty sure that's not the case. The headphones were fine for the first 2 days and then all of a sudden a subtle volume difference was noticed. Although I probably should get my ears checked The Cloud II's don't have drivers(I don't think). Just plug and play I believe. As I said the headphones were fine first two days and then nightmares came back. Headphones. Well I only have one pair now but yes. All the headphones I plugged in, overtime (could be days could be months) the same thing would happen
  12. I have just bought myself the HyperX Cloud II about 3 days ago and I already have to turn down the left earphone by about 3% in the volume control because it's simply louder than the right. It's very annoying because I had the same issue on my old headphones (Roccat Kave 5.1) where I had to turn down the left earphone by 10% for them both to be equal. I don't know if it's the problem with my motherboard or am I not taking care of the headphone cable? I usually take great care with hardware especially headphones nowadays since I broke so many in the past but the issue still comes back. Motherboard: ASUS M4A78LT-M
  13. Currently I have the Roccat Kave 5.1 and it's most likely the best headset I had as of right now. I usually listen to remixes or your well known songs you hear on the radio or find on Spotify. On onboard audio is absolutely trash. I plan on buying a whole new PC altogether which will have the Z170-A motherboard but at the moment I have the Asus M4A78LT-M.
  14. Usually it's a quiet environment but sometimes it can be noisy since I have an 8 year old sister. I want to use these as my general purpose headphones i.e music, gaming, movies, literally everything you can think of on PC. I wouldn't spend more than €200 on headphones and I live in Ireland. I just want to future-proof my setup and not have to worry about buying new parts in the years to come. I have quite a bad history when it comes to headsets since they either had a terrible microphone or would break within half a year (my current headset is breaking right now hence why I need advice) so I want to make sure that I buy a good microphone which would last me for a long time and good headphones which wouldn't break and would sound just fine for general purpose but mainly for gaming as I said before.
