  2. "The cables belong to the ISPs. They are free to control, what passes through them."
  3. I was wondering if there is anything that would allow me to do a blind test between two video files similar to how people do it for audio. I'm playing them side by side right now but I was looking for something that works better.
  4. I don't think he was trying to be mean, Linus touches on the no Canadian deals in his video and says that
  5. I have a Mechanical Eagle Z-77 and the cover between the keycaps and the pcb is black but I wanted to paint it white it match some keycaps I have. The material is aluminum. https://www.amazon.com/MechanicalEagle-Multicolor-Mechanical-Keyboard-Replaceable/dp/B01I1N6N3U/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1499540272&sr=1-1&keywords=mechanical%2Beagle%2Bz77&th=1
  6. For streaming video through Plex and other streaming sites, which streaming box works better? I'm already leaning towards the Link for the $15 price tag and game streaming but I wanted to know the video streaming performance.
  7. AMD Cards aren't even an option right now and I don't see them being one for at least another month or two. All the miners bought out the cards and now they're moving on to Nvidia so I would buy that 1070 before the price goes well above $400.
  8. Trying using something like this with your new url Also how would I move my node files? It's filling up my SSD and I don't need to move it but I would rather have it on my HDD. Do I just cut and paste or do I change the location somewhere in Ethereum Wallet?
  9. https://earthview.withgoogle.com/ is full of 1800x1200 pictures and I used use them as a new tab wallpaper with the earthview extension in chrome. I really liked the concept and now I want to try to use it as my desktop wallpaper. How would I go about this? All I got so far was downloading all the pictures and setting them on slideshow.
  10. Google the Passmark score for the CPU. Plex recommends 2000 points for each 1080p stream. If it's less than 2000 I would avoid using the laptop.
  11. They could use a Pentium G4560 if they want Kaby Lake for 4k stuff
  12. I'm looking at these cases for a good HTPC case and they all look similar from the MLO5 to the MLO8. What are the pros of the more expensive cases in the line.
  13. I have movies in 5.1 that I want to play through the PC to a receiver to my surround sound setup and projector. I also want to be able to do 4K playback to my tv in another room. (over a long hdmi cable) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8C46VY ignore the noctua mounting things
  14. 3.1 is backwards compatible with 3.0, unless you mean type C?
  15. I would go for the 1500X + 1080 if you're gaming at 1440p+ but for everything else I would take the 1600X+1070. The 6700K will perform similarly or even better but it'll cost more. That's my opinion, I don't know your budget so make your own decision.
  16. In terms of privacy and performance, which of these search engines is the best? 1) DuckDuckGo 2) Searx 3) Startpage
  17. With the new bill that passed in the senate, it looks like the beginning of the end of internet privacy. Even if the bill doesn't pass in the house tomorrow, I'm still going to go the private route as a precaution and because it's bad enough without the bill. I was thinking to start with switching to linux, I'll probably use Arch for those nice repositories. Then I'll make the switch to Firefox and duckduckgo from Chrome and Google. This part I'm unsure about because I'll still use things like my email and I enjoy using Chrome and Google more than the Firefox and duckduckgo. Finally I was going to get private internet access. It looks like a great, cheap VPN and I get letters from my ISP for torrenting so that should be the end of that.
  18. GPU was under 100% load when nothing was running and I was away for an hour. This is what I caught on MSI AB. I did a virus scan and I found three objects. They were all called "Spyware.PasswordStealer" in Malwarebytes. I just changed all my passwords but do you guys have any idea what caused it? Only thing I installed since my last scan was an update to ShareX. Also, why was my GPU under load? Most intensive program I had open was Rainmeter. Edit: I've been getting this error everytime I've started my PC. I didn't think much of it but could it be related? It started appearing randomly so how should I handle it?
  19. I already know about that one, its similar but the one he has is the E198WFPf
  20. Friend said he'd give me the monitor for a cup of coffee. I know the E198WFP is 1440x900 but we don't know any other specs and features. I was thinking about making it portrait for reading and writing.
  21. I'm on jailbroken ios 9.3.3 and its been stable since the summer. Now the orientation is all messed up. It doesn't go into landscape unless the app forces it and when it does like in Youtube, its upside down. Then when I exit the app, its frozen in landscape, all my icons are spinning around, and I need to respring to go back to portrait. I tried disabling all my tweaks and it doesn't work. The bug even happens when I turn the jb off. I'm guessing its hardware problem so do you guys know any tweaks that let you toggle between the orientations?
  22. I got my 6600K to 4.6 ghz with 1.35 vcore. It ran x264 and Realbench flawlessly but I get a rounding error when I run P95. I pushed my vcore to 1.38 and that fixed it but my thermals were pushing 60s with x264 and 60s to high 70s with P95 under both voltages. Should I be worried about reducing lifespan or should I run at 1.38 24/7? Edit: I ran the blend test in P95
