  1. Anyone have experience with the 1070 with a 1440 144hz monitor? Is it enough card for this without completely dumping the visuals? what kind of framerates are you getting on the new and current titles and at what settings? Thanks to all!
  2. Success! I didn't remove the video card at first just unplugged it from the PSU. I just removed it and it booted up just fine! thanks!!
  3. The other PSU is an old antec. granted i didn't do the full due diligence and completely swap the psu to boot the computer completely. I simply plugged in the mobo power to see if I could get any lights, fans, etc. I got lights fans and everything that would suggest the PC was booting properly. Everything worked just fine with the EVGA PSU until it shut off last weekend. What are the odds of getting 2 bad EVGA PSU, one right out of the box? There's no possibility of a compatibility issue, right?
  4. The mobo is my next suspect. I'm starting the warranty process now. thanks for the response.
  5. I have a PC I built 4 months ago. Haven't had any issues until now. A week and a half ago my PC turned off while I was playing a game. No reason or warning. It would not turn back on (no lights, beeps, etc.). I suspected power supply issue an old power supply into the motherboard just to see if it would turn on and it started the boot up (all normal lights, fans, everything). After this I warrantied the power supply (EVGA Supernova 750 G2). The new one came in and I plugged it in but......nothing. No lights, fans, beeps. I've tried unplugging everything but the mobo and CPU cables but still nothing. Leads me to believe it may be a MOBO issue. I don't have other parts on had to swap out and test different things so I need help trying to narrow down the issue. All thermals were within safe boundaries when the PC shutdown initially. Specs are: Intel 6700k Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 16GB Corsair LPX RAM XFX Radeon HD7850 -this was about to get an upgrade but then the current issue happened EK Predator 360
  6. Any feedback about what kind of build I'd be looking at for 1440p 144hz gaming to get a min. 144 fps on med settings? 6600k/980ti be substantial enough without overclocking?
  7. I'm currently running an older AMD card and would consider another one except for the fact that my new monitor is G-Sync so I'm pretty much set on Nvidia.
  8. I'm building a new PC and going to a 1440p 144hz monitor and I'm still debating on whether to get a 980 ti now and finish the build or wait for the pascal arch to be released in hopes that the mid level card (970 price range) will be equivalently substantial to the 980 ti for almost half the price. I understand the issue of having a PC that I can use now vs waiting for 6-8 months. I'm not entirely concerned with that issue because I don't upgrade my computer or build new computers very frequently and I'm thinking more long term. My current build is from 2011 with a 2013 graphics card which will give you an idea of how often I upgrade. I'm not so worried about maxing out AAA games I usually run med to low settings to maximize performance. I prefer better fps vs top end visuals. I'm also thinking about the 'future proof' aspect for releases of upcoming AAA titles (i.e. Battlefield 5, Escape from Tarkov, and others that will be coming in the next 2-3 yrs.). Thoughts? and thanks ahead of time to all for your help!
