  1. The only thing I was more hung up about was what I spent buying the 3080 ti, but I do understand technology does advance and hardware becomes more cheap over the years depending on the product. I'm happy to be getting this 4070 ti for one as it will give me a few more years before I do my new build so I won't have to worry so much. I do play on a 1440p monitor so I'm happy it can trade blows with the 3080 ti. Thank you all for your advice on this matter. I was so unsure if I should make a case for this or not, but I'll be happy for it.
  2. I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right spot, but I figured why not. In October this year my 3080 ti burnt itself out and was no longer displaying an image. I tested for a bit using onboard graphics and using an old GTX 660 I just had sitting in its box. My 3080 is a Gigabyte model and so I RMA'd it. They spent the last couple weeks doing their thing and eventually came to the conclusion to just upgrade me to a 4070 ti since the 3080 I have was discontinued. I have been doing some research and was able to see that 4070 ti will be roughly about a 10% upgrade. A few of my friends were kind of divided on Gigabyte's decision. A few were happy for the upgrade saying it was good. I would see a slight better increase in performance and get to use DLSS 3.0 and other features the 30 series don't have access to. The other side were not happy and say I could make a case on the fact I spent a lot on the 3080 ti and would expect to get the same card around the same price I had originally paid or make my case on getting a 4080 at the very least. Though I was skeptical on this side as the card was only a little bit over a year old when it broke. The only reason I'm kind of cut in the middle is because while yeah I did pay a lot of money originally for the 3080 ti and I knew that at the time when I did purchase it, but I know I will have the same or better performance with the 4070 ti. When reading through the process of Gigabyte's RMA system I wasn't really able to find an answer to my questions. Just they will attempt to repair it or just replace it with the same model (This made me assume I would just get a different 3080 ti in their line up). I guess my question is, What would some of you do in this spot? Would you make a case to Gigabyte and see if you can get a 4080 or would you be happy for receiving the 4070 ti?
  3. Great suggestions, but I am looking for a long term cpu which I am set on the 12900k and I don't plan on upgrading for a few years. I managed to find an MSI z690 pro-a for about $50 more. Just not sure on the vrms, but all things I've read about the board it's a good entry level board. I don't plan on overclocking since watching videos on it the 12900k gets too hot to sustain a long term overclock. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-pro-z690-a-ddr4-socket-lga-1700-usb-3-2-intel-motherboard/6485158.p?skuId=6485158&loc=pdpShare&ref=app_android I found a 32gb set of ram I forgot I had and so I can use that. I just need a new cooler for the 3900x. Probably just a good air cooler. Nephew doesn't need a fancy aio cooler that I am using now. Just waiting on the lga1700 bracket for my cooler.
  4. Budget (including currency): $1200 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MMOs, FPS, and video edits Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Starting a new build and giving my nephew a few of my old parts. Currently have a 3900x and an RTX 3080. I'm letting him use the 3900x and my old rtx 2080 I had laying around. I have 16gbs of ram for him to use as well with the 3900x. So I just need a new cpu motherboard and ram. I'm also planning on getting a new nvme drive and letting him use smaller one with a 1tb ssd for other games he might play. I play at 4k resolution and nephew will be playing at 1080p I was looking to just jump into the 12900k and ddr5 ram, but have seen videos from Gamers Nexus and others that ddr5 is not a big jump from ddr4 as of now. Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.
  5. Sorry for the super late response. After more testing spending about 4 hours a day troubleshooting, I have come up with a possible reason why I was getting interference with any wireless headset. Originally I thought it was USB or some unknown static which may be caused by external hard drives. Which I have none except what is connected to my Xbox. Heck I even thought it was my wifi antenna on my Aorus WiFi pro motherboard, but nowhere in bios to my understanding is a way to disable this except through device manager. I even turned off the mobo's bluetooth after stutters continued. Same issue. Little did I know I think I may have been closer to the answer than I thought. I took a hunch that maybe it was my 2.4ghz wifi signal that was causing the interference. So I went into my router settings and turned off the 2.4 signal. After a day of testing the stutters and random disconnects just stopped. I read that wifi signals don't or shouldn't interfere with other 2.4 signals due to different frequency channels. So maybe I found a solution along the way and didn't realize it? Or maybe it was interfering? Anyways the problem seems to be gone and if it comes back I will do a fresh install of windows and see where that takes me. Luckily routers come with 5g signals now so didn't lose wifi signal completely.
  6. I've been having this issue for well over a year. I have gone through four different headsets with all the same issues. Either connection drops completely or I have crackle or audio drops suddenly. Headsets I've gone through: Logitech G933 Logitech G935 ASTRO A50 Rig 800 HX Pro (Current one now) I ran with the G933 for three years so I only at the time thought wear and tear finally caught up to it. The G935 is where I realized something might be broken. The problems of audio drops and signals of the headset disconnecting and reconnecting were showing. Went to the A50 the problem occurred again. So I went to a wired headset with no issue, but I just missed the freedom of no wires. So after a few months of wired connection I decided to get the 800 HX for both my pc and my Xbox, but after a day the problem came back yet again. I am now convinced it can't be the headset because on Xbox I get no signal drops or audio crackles or drops. I've tried to look up what could be the problem. Originally thinking it's an interference in signals, but I'm not sure what could be causing it. I tried different USB ports and turned off save power on USB ports in device manager. I have been able to stop the sudden signal drops, but I feel like I only delayed it from happening for now. Any help will be great and appreciated.
  7. I don't have a Micro Center, but it seems like the legion 5 you and Revioli recommended is a 14% average difference in performance in cpu, and it seems like they are able to ship this to me. I play Final Fantasy XIV, Halo Infinite, and Tomb Raider mostly on my pc now a days. I watched Jarrod's Tech video in a comparison video, but the laptops he compared were with 3070, but he did well on comparing the cpus. Thank you two for your help. I'll take this laptop back and order the Legion one. I never bother to look on Micro Center since here in the state of Idaho we don't have anything like it except Best Buy. Even then my Best Buy doesn't carry a lot of gaming laptops or gaming peripherals.
  8. I'm looking for a new laptop good enough for mostly gaming, friendly for a content creator, and is a good bang for the buck. I'm gonna be doing a lot of traveling this year and won't have my main desktop with me. I currently can go up to $1500 before tax. A friend suggested an MSI GE76 Raider with an RTX 3060 which I went to grab at my local Costco at my price point. mostly because Costco usually doesn't keep these deals around very long. I'm keeping in mind that with my budget I won't see much passed 1080p, but I'm one of those people who wonder if I could have gotten something better or cheaper. I've done some searching and can't seem to find anything else within my price point except for an Asus one that I wouldn't have minded going a bit higher on my budget if it was available right now. Maybe someone can direct me in thinking I may have picked a good enough laptop or if I should keep looking. I'm still within my return window for the MSI laptop, but maybe someone has better luck finding another that's better at the same price point. Thank you in advance.
  9. Alrighty. I will take a look at them all and do a bit more research. Thank you for taking the time to answer me. I was going to town Sunday to buy whatever I decide. Again Thanks for your help.
  10. While I like the options. I'm unable to really locate a G Pro X on Amazon and they're sold out on Best Buy. Waiting for Logitech to mail anything through their site takes forever so it gives me time to look at Razer's options that Chris Greene suggested. Any other suggestions on headsets/headphones you may suggest looking into? Edit: I've tried using the G935 once and I had an issue with it sliding off my head, but this was probably due to the leather headband and earcups.
  11. Looking to buy a new wireless headset or headphones that are best for gaming. I was originally using the Logitech G533 and loved them to death, but they have finally met their inevitable fate and now have connectivity issues. So I'm looking for some recommendations. I would really like them to be wireless, because wires on some headsets/headphones bother me. Doesn't need to have a microphone hence the headphones as an option for recommendations since I have a Blue Yeti microphone I use for my streaming and talking to friends on discord mostly. Anything will help. I've been looking at the Astro A50 Gen 4, but I don't know if that would be the best in terms of audio in a sense. All help is appreciated. Thanks
  12. I'm looking into upgrading to a 1440p monitor. I have a friend suggesting the Lenovo G34w which is ultra wide so I'm not 100% sure on that, but that's at around $500 after tax. I have a budget of up to $600 but would not want to push it that far if possible. I do play a lot of everything except RTS games. But I do play mostly MMOs or RPGs if anything. Anyone have any suggestions on what to get? I would like some insight on this. Thanks in advance!
  13. Budget is up to $500 for peripherals since they are a bit pricey. Thanks for your response. I don't really use the macro keys on my G910 the only thing I really use that has the extra macros is the G604 mouse. Sorry I didn't say much about that. I should have said more about it. Thanks for your response and suggestion though I will look into the K95 Platinum you suggested. How close to comfort presses or feedback do the Brown switches have to the Blue? I never used them specifically in any keyboard only ones I ever owned were membrane, Red and now the Romer G.
  14. Sorry for the long awaited reply, I went with the G613, but kind of wish I would have done the G915, but I just couldn't justify that price tag at all. It would be nice to have if the price was not so high maybe $60 or $80 cheaper I would have made that jump, but for $250 was a bit too rich for my taste. The G613 did serve me well until I managed to find another use for it. I ended up dropping the idea of using it for the guest pc and used it for a secondary PC so I could be a couch potato whenever I'm home if I don't feel like going to my main pc.
  15. I've been using the Logitech G910 since it's original release. I have been coming to the point where I get double clicking on some keys especially the WASD, The keys around it, and the space bar. Needless to say the keyboard has served me for every dollar it was worth. So I'm looking for suggestions now. I've only ever used Logitech peripherals keyboard, mouse, and headset. Mostly because my OCD kicks in when I see different logos in front of me and I haven't been able to shake it. So I'm willing to go to Razer, Corsair, Steelseries, etc to make this change. I know it's not a needed thing to use the same thing for all peripherals, but honestly I think it might be time to break away from Logitech to give someone else a try. Play, MMOs, RPGs, Shoorters. Basically everything Current Peripherals: Keyboard: G910 Mouse: G604 Headset: G533
